    When you put the tools in you have to push them towards the outside edges and it'll pop right out. Everyone always tries shoving them in and pulling them straight back but that doesn't work the tool on the left push it to left at an angle the right push it to the right at an angle amd snap it comes right out. Learned by trial and error fs lol

    I had a 2006 MGM that the engine finally wore out in. I bought a really nice 2007 model to replace it with. The 2006 stereo had the cassette player, which I used to connect an MP3 player to, using an adaptor that went into the cassette slot and had a cord with a 1/8" plug on it. The 2007 only had a CD player. No place to connect the MP3 player. I just swapped them out, and put the stereo from the 2006 into the 2007. The only hard part was getting both of them out. It took over half an hour. The plugs on the back were the same on both.

      Yes I love the cassette adapter. It plays very well. Also there is a Bluetooth cassette adaptor that I got that really works well also connecting to my phone. I have a 2000 grand marquis. My car also has a 6 cd cartridge that plays the cds in the car radio.

    Enjoyed the video. Eerily familiar to how it goes for me when I work on things. Luckily, I have four nails that work perfectly to remove the stereo. Only "problem" is figuring out the wiring to swipe out the factory unit with a Pioneer single DIN I recently extracted from the old truck I'm selling. This is going to be fun. On another note, I echo many of the same sentiments you conveyed in the responses to other comments. Best regards!

      Alpine is better on the high end, if you're not spending much it's Kenwood all the way.

    You managed to get it done, good job! I have an older Mercury GM (2006) that also came originally with the single CD stereo, and I bought a new one on Ebay just like your's, with the Dual Media stereo, cassette + CD, coz I have a a lot of tapes that are just not available on CD or even mp3's and it worked great....

      You must listen to a lot of obscure music if they only came out on cassette! I sadly do not have any other music albums/singles/etc. on the magnificent medium known as cassettes besides the one used in this video. I only use the cassette player on this thing to play MP3s on my MP3 player via a cassette to MP3 adapter. I would've gotten an aftermarket stereo with an auxiliary port but I just have to keep things nice an old school in my baby.

    The CD player in my '10 Grand Marquis is showing the same symptoms as what you were describing. I'd like to swap it out soon, thanks for the video.

      No problem. I've heard that these particular Ford OEM Stereos have CD players that do not hold up well over time. Hopefully I'll be able to simply fix any future issues with the stereo rather than replacing it in the future..

      @sodapop Thanks. I saw that you have some Todd related videos on your channel. He's a pretty interesting character to say the least. I feel pretty bad for him, he seems like a really lonely person. I know he has a lot of issues, particularly ones related to his sexual preferences that make him reprehensible in the eyes of 99% of society. But as another loner and outcast, I can't help but feel a lot of empathy for him. I've tried reaching out to him and seeing if he'd be willing to connect on Discord to talk, but he apparently doesn't like the platform. Though he's probably in need of a therapist more than anything given his current situation. He's going to die of alcoholic liver disease if he keeps drinking a lot.

    • @thecomputerwhiz1
      @thecomputerwhiz1  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can get cassette tapes that have a cord attached to them with a 3.5mm headphone connector. And it's an old school car, so it needs an old school setup in my opinion.

    Not to be rude but that was absolutely hilarious you struggled that long with taking it out, I already knew how to do it because I have a grand marquis too. I just clicked on this for the wiring process.
    So you put the removal tools in, then you push them away from eachother and fast and hard as you can and it just pops out. Lmao thanks for the laugh though.

      My mother taught me manners. Guess where that got me? Homeownership at the age of 25.
      Impoliteness gets nobody nowhere and leads to destruction of the self. I got bullied so much in school because I was more intelligent than everyone else and didn't fit in. You may not know this, but schools are government indoctrination centres. The government brainwashed all of the other kids into bullying me; I could have been brainwashed but I was too smart to be susceptible to it. The government tries to disrupt my mind, so that's why I 'struggled' in this video. If it weren't for Donald Trump, I would have taken that stereo right out without any sort of struggle at all! After all, I have a baccalaureate of science degree in computer science!
      The government hates me so much that they send the Arkansas State Police to my house with big guns to try and steal my house; I talk about it here: th-cam.com/video/iRJVz8xmC3c/w-d-xo.html

    It's almost painful wathing you try to use those removal tools without knowing how they work. You have to push them towards the outside to push in the retainin clips on the radio, that's the whole thing they're supposed to do.

    • @thecomputerwhiz1
      @thecomputerwhiz1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's something even more painful. I suffered a serious brain injury when I was born and use drugs. I also own a home without a mortgage AND work as a software engineer! I will be able to retire in my 40s because God says I have deserved it.
