I think something went wrong. The light yellow was sewn wrong. It should have been sewn to the top not the bottom. If you do your quilt this way it’s going to be all messed up. I would hat for someone who buys the kit to make it this way. They will be so disappointed when 1/2 of their quilt is wrong. But I sure do love the fabric for this very lovely kaleidoscope quilt.

Hi Claudia - Yes, the 2 rows of yellow do appear to be sewn "upside down/wrong" because Jen was demonstrating how to sew the rows together. The 2 rows of yellow will be connected with other yellow triangles, to make 3 whole kaleidoscope blocks, if this makes sense. -Michelle

If you cut the strips from left to right instead of right to left, only the first cut would be" left-handed". The rest would be right-handed cuts. Gorgeous quilt! This is now at the top of my list of projects!

I received my kit and had to start it right away. 😊. Today I ironed the fabric, cut, marked, and pinned it. I have always wanted to do a kaleidoscope quilt but was intimidated. Your instructions made it so easy. However, I did have to figure out about the pinning. Where to start, how far apart…A couple of starts and stops and 3 bandaids later, I figured it out. What worked best for me was starting in the middle working on the short side and working my way down, then doing the other half the same way. Seemed less cumbersome to me that way. Next will be cutting the strips and triangles. Thank you for such good explanations and guidance. Love your videos.

This fabric is gorgeous! When I'm lining up kaleidoscope fabrics I don't rock the pin to hold all the layers. I feel that shifts the fabrics slightly. I hold the "line up" pin straight up and down through all the layers and insert a second pin to hold the layers together & remove the "line up" pin.

Would it be advisable to cut the triangle tips for blocks where the center of the hexagon is with the pointy ends of the triangles? Similar to what you did for the half hexagons before sewing together to avoid the offset?
