The building is an actual boarding school in England called “Cobham Hall” (many of the background actors in the movie were the actual school girls from the school). As an ex student, I always found it interesting how they reimagined the spaces in the school and presented it (eg the Principal’s office is actually a fancy library in the school, which is mostly used to impress parents and guest).

I actually didn't realise that at the end where they jump off, you see that each of them has a necklace related to the sea. Poppy has the starfish, Drippy has what might be a fish hook, Katie has a seahorse, Josie has a ship's anchor and I think Kiki has a seashell. It's honestly cute and it just means their friendship will last forever with having such a personalised friendship necklace.

One small detail I love is how at the beginning, she carries a Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami bag with the rainbow monogram and beige leather details. This style is synonymous with that LA maximalist 2000s teen style and was very popular in America (and Asia but that's irrelevant). It's a total contrast to the traditional and classic Louis Vuitton styles, perhaps symbolising that she doesn't really care for the history of these luxury brands, but more to signify her wealth & trendy status.
She wasn't romantic in this movie She wasn't a bitch in the movie Honestly her father just ignored her after her mother death and then thought let his new girlfriend move in was a good idea He shouldn't have ignored her and her feelings since her mother's death and should have focused on his and his children's health before getting a new girlfriend But I agree that she is a great actor as a bitch
I didn’t think Poppy appeared dressed to go to the beach in that pink and blue fit. I imagine her shopping or hanging with her friends in that colorful outfit. But I love this movie and analysis! I loved many of the cinematic aspects and the music from this movie. Very 2000s

I only discovered this movie on Netflix around 3 months ago and I had discovered Emma Roberts in Nancy Drew before that. I did actually see her in horror story the first time but I did really enjoy this movie with my teen daughter who seemed to enjoy it herself as well
