  • This video was of me removing the tree that was in my front yard. The tree is a lot bigger than I thought it was, but hey the chainsaw that I used held up great. It’s the SENIX 18” chainsaw, and this is after a year of having it, granted whenever I got it it was to cut down a tree for my mom, and due to it needing to be tuned, and me not knowing this or even how too, ended up using the other chainsaw that was in the video that I had on this as well, that chainsaw had the chain tensioner piece break, so I had both chainsaws for this video just in case I needed them. Turns out the piece on the SENIX will fit the other one, but turned out after I watched some TH-cam videos of how to tune it up, and found I needed an A-circle carb adjuster.

    Wow, you beat the living shit out of that saw and it still works, I’m definitely going to by one of those Senix. Thanks for putting that saw to the test.

      Yeah I was pretty impressed, although it did need the carb adjusted. So you might get the adjustment driver in the link too.

    Not only are you dedicated to cutting down that tree alone but filming it too. Kudos. Something every Senix owner should know is these engines need the valves adjusted right out of the box. The valve lash is set too tight, basically no gap. This will cause run problems once it heats up, as the exhaust valve wont close fully. You will also see a lot of carbon on spark plug, check the gap. Mine was 0.020” when it should be 0.027”-0.031”. Set the valve lash to 0.06” or 0.15mm on both intake and exhaust. Then adjust the carb if needed. QC must just get it to run, then box it up for sale. But once you get it set right, this saw should run like a champ.

    Thanks for uploading this video, I was really curious how this saw would perform and it looks pretty good. Did you ever figure out what oil to use or did your 30 oil just work a?
    And thanks for showing the tuning mechanics! I really enjoyed this video : )

      Thanks for the reply. It came with oil for the motor part.

    Where did you get the wrench to adjust the carburetor? I cannot find it anywhere. Do you have a description or a code number for it?

    When you set your legs down on a manlift you don't just max them out, you get all 4 down and keep them as wide as possible with also staying level and some of the weight off the tires.

    When I first started to watch the video, the first thought I had was, I hope he snugs up that chain a bit.

    Seems like there’s no power compared to 2 stroke saws.

      If you look back on your video, your having a hard time getting motor oil in the saw, also i have the same one. It's in book 10w30 but sae 30 probably better. Curious where you get the carb adjustment tool, i bought kit and just ordered another with the o circle because the first one didn't have one.

    Just came across this video. I am thinking about getting this chainsaw. But since its a 4 stroke, how did you cut sideways without having oil go everywhere? Supposedly you cant cut horizontally with a 4 stroke because you can starve the engine from oil or the oil will go passed the piston rings and flood where the spark plug is and it will stop your engine and might damage your piston.

    • @backendhandyman
      @backendhandyman  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      honestly I don't remember didn't remember there being an issue cutting sideways, but then again i was just hacking it up man!

      That’s what happens with 2-stroke chainsaws. SENIX 4-Cycle tools have a patented 4QL technology that doesn’t require mixing gas and oil… and can be used at any angle.

      LOL........ Ego trips......
      You have a guy with no knowledge of Chainsaws, tackling his first Tree Felling(by himself) and getting it done over the weekend.
      Now, Why would he need to buy a Stihl or Hushy for a Single Job?
      By the way, mine is 6 months old and has cut through 3+ cords of hardwoods - still on the original chain,never resharpened.
      I have (3) 2-strokes(33cc/16", 40cc/18", 62cc/20") an electric 16" and the 49cc/18" 4-stroke. The Senix is usually my go to and it will easily handle 28"/30" logs.
      To each their own

      @crxess how can you cut horizontally with this chainsaw if it's a 4 stroke? Doesn't it starve engine of oil or oil can go passed piston rings and flood spark plug if you cut horizontally?

    • @backendhandyman
      @backendhandyman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      😕too be honest I was surprised the convenance of the saw, my only negative about it is mine needed carb adjusting right from the store, and had to get the special carb adjustment tool. But as for power worked really good… I was wore out but really think that was more from the tree.

    Junk. Chain tensioning system is the worst, chain flew off, never had a chain fly off on any of my chainsaws ever. Also, you start it and after about 4 seconds it dies and doesn't want to start again. This is one of those do not buy items.

    • @backendhandyman
      @backendhandyman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน
