I explain all the basic viewport controls, and walk you through step by step all of the user interface. I cover how to navigate through the editor, and how you can create your own custom maps, inside of the editor. This was extremely helpful and informative it was exactly the video I was looking for. You covered everything that I was initially overwhelmed with. Now I can see that Jeff is actually pretty simple.
great tutorial, I have been taking your multiplayer survival course and a lot of the UE interface has been covered in detail so I was able to just get started in creating with UEFN right away and it wasn't overwhelming at all. I would love to see some more tutorials on how to create certain game modes, adding custom models or animations, and of course verse. thank you!

im surprised this doesnt just use blueprints , I expected it to be a heavily modified UE project file for fortnite. still pretty interesting, i dunno if i care enough to learn verse just to use it tho, ill likely stick to regular game dev. but i was very interested in the project for building an FPS/Racer ,or really any online multiplayer game with the prospect of it being built on top of fortnites already existing netcode. for me netcode is the my biggest hurdle to game dev.
to go further it would be cool to see in the future if you could convert entire UE5 projects to "Fortnite game projects" the future is going to be very interesting. and im sure many will deeply appreciate these tutorials

Can someone explain how the reviewing process for a UEFN project will work? Will they approve every project which doesn't violate their terms and policies? Or the review will also consider the quality of the project?
When you cover-up some objects during edits, do these covered objects still consume CPU/GPU rendering compute power?

it doesn't work when I try to drag weapons into the map. It works for everything else, even the vehicle spawner, but not the weapons

Unreal engine is a game engine that is its own app that was used to create Fortnite. Unreal editor is unreal engine put inside of Fortnite and used in the editor. I hope that helps

I been working on games with unreal for over 10 years now and I hated Fortnite it just wasn’t fun to me. I’m more interested in making my own assets, art, animation, environments and effects so I guess this is useless for me?

I dunno, my view is what loss would it be to say set aside a week or two, work through a couple of tutorials, see how it feels after that. I've been working with Unreal for couple of years and love it, but am enjoying messing with UEFN as a different toolkit etc. Some of the tutorials feel a little 'half baked' not working straight off or not 'finished' as nicely as Unreal proper, but, hey, it is Beta!!!! You can bring in your own assets - giving what you create your own flavour - so for example, I'm playing around with a 1V1 map from the examples, easy to get going and seems to work in 'single player' test mode. My vote, after 10 years Unreal, surely you can afford to take a break and maybe discover this could work for you sometimes....good luck!!!!
