with the passive skill gem you can also untick the box in the bottom left, which is "only show recommended" - this way you immediately see ALL compatible skill gems with the selected skill. :)
Just saw a video explaining this! I kept getting support gems and thought I was running out of options to pick from. Now my build is getting so much better with all the other options
This is a prime textbook example of an entertaining, concise, and humorous TH-cam game guide that all game streamers should look to as a new standard. You’ve definitely earned my sub. Thank you sir, for your time, and for answering many of my questions in 10:02 that so many other channels couldn’t in hours. Don’t ever change!
PSA - don’t corrupt any items with Vaal orbs until you fully upgrade the item. You won’t be able to socket or add quality to an item after it’s corrupted.
This is beyond crazy. I hadn't the slightest clue on these AFTER MORE than 20 hours of play cuz NOTHING was explained throughout the ENTIRE gameplay. Because of your video I'm now subscribing your channel.
1. Unlock the Salvage Bench in Act 1 and collect gear with the "quality" stat. Salvage these to obtain upgrade materials to boost your gear’s stats, up to +20%. Check vendors after leveling up for quality items. 2. Use the skills tab to compare weapons by checking the DPS changes when swapping them. 3. Access hidden skill options (stand still while attacking, assign skills to specific weapon sets, etc.). Customize move sets by assigning skills to weapon sets for seamless swapping. 4. Allocate skill points to different paths for each weapon set to optimize their usage. 5. Salvage items with sockets to gain materials that let you add sockets to your gear. Buy cheap socketed items from vendors for this purpose. 6. Killing enemies refills potion charges, with stronger enemies giving more. Checkpoints and waypoints fully refill resources. 7. View all support gem options (not just the recommended ones). Match gems to abilities and attribute requirements for better synergy. 8. Toggle health bars for enemies or NPCs in the interface settings to track nearby foes. 9. Pin items on-screen to show their details, useful for livestreaming or quick reference. 10. Adjust menu panel modes for smaller, seamless displays. Use shortcuts to link items in chat directly. 11. Look for bosses or chests with a "+" symbol; these reward permanent character bonuses. 12. Use mobility skills (dashes or jumps) to avoid traps and preserve your honor bar during Relic Alter trials. Revisit trial areas after completion to collect missed chests. 13. Defeat specific bosses for permanent resistance buffs to elements like fire. 14. Explore areas for immersive environmental storytelling, such as hedgehogs scavenging decay wood for insects. 15. Experiment with different classes to find what suits your playstyle.
Hey dude, just wanna say, this has been on of best POE2 tip videos I've watched. You went into detail about useful mechanics, showed great footage, and brought some quality humor into it. Hope you feel better!
On locking skills to weapon sets. If you're a Mercenary and happen to have two good crossbows, you can "pre-load" each crossbow with an ammo type. I find this much smoother than switching ammo types with one crossbow, especially mid-combat. Cheers!
Question sir, i am new but i made a yellow item with no quality with like 6% quality from 0. Do i jist drop that item and craft on a item with already a 5% quality? Because it will scale more or?
Salvaging quality items purchased from NPCS and the weapon swap skill use were the 2 things I did not consider. Thanks; that gave me the clarity I needed to use crossbow for my secondary :D.
Fun end game tip: You can gamble for 4 or 5 socket gem with Vaal orb. One of the possible outcomes is +1 socket to skill gem. This might be cheaper than trying though Jeweler's orbs. Just remember that its not guaranteed.
This is the only video guide I could find as a beginner that I could understand and learn some actual tips from. Every other video describes as if I’m already a veteran I swear😭thanks man
9:00 Speaking of attention to detail, somewhere in act 3 there's a section with a area of hardened dirt infested with those termite/ant like creatures in swarms with holes all over from where they come out of. if you turn the game's music down and walk across most of the "hole like" ground you can hear your footsteps having a distinct "thump" with a bit of hollowness, implying the dirt ground is hollowed out from the nest. I never thought a game would pay that much attention to stepping around. lmao
The dev recommended support gems royally screwed me over, it took me way too long to realize you can choose any you want. Ruined my warrior run. Also what the hell, you can have an almost entirely different skill tree for your secondary weapon? That's insane. This game is insanely complex to the point it's overwhelming. But I also have to acknowledge that playing with a controller is the reason why I did not find out a lot of these things myself, due to the menus looking different, or not being able to hover the mouse over things like the secondary weapon skill tree to see what that was about. I really hope there's an update soon that gives the seamless transition between controller for gameplay and mouse for menu management, as I'm definitely not giving up controller because it makes combat so much better. Anyway, this is probably the best PoE 2 tips video I've seen so well done.
I'm a poe 1 player and i went trough a bunch of tips videos to make sure i wansn't missing anything. I think this is one of the few best i saw. Dense in information, pleasing to listen et very clear
5:50 u uncheck the "show recommended gems" and you see all the gems that work with that skills, ALL GEMS is all gems an sometimes cant be used with that one skill u have clicked on
I picked Merc as my first class. I went into PoE2 blind, afterwards i watched hours of tutorials, tips, and tricks. But i MUST say that your video is INCREDIBLY insightful. When the game says i can salvage quality items, i didn't know that it meant LITERALLY items with quality%, that's huge. DPS calculator is wildly helpful, i kept glowering at character screen wondering wtf where's my dps! The weapon set points I had no understanding of there use or implementation until i watched your video, massive help. Lastly, every tip video mentions the all gem tab, i didn't know it could be sorted by attribute though. It is worth noting that each recommended gem tab has a checkmark that can be turned off to show every compatible gem, hiding duplicates, which the all gem tab will not hide duplicates.
Two things: first, loot filters exist, and they can highlight quality items. Second, all items with quality are prefixed with Superior, no need to mouse over.
@@akasnuggieI’m assuming these have to be set up outside of the game? I saw the menu option to use a loot filter file or something but couldn’t find a way to set it up in the game.
The best thing to have on your health and mana flask is charges being restored passively. Being able to run around for a minute and gain an extra charge is huge in boss fights.
@@xkollx I'm also playing warrior. What saved me in this boss fight was exactly improving the quality of my items and adding some runes to them. The tips in this video are a must for our class.
The weapon switching for specific skills is something I have not seen or read about :o In the endgame the ONE set is probably very much better so works out anyway :P
Actually having the wrong weapon because I tried this inert skill of my secondary weapon at the moment and thought it switched back automatically nerfed me for half an hour in a zone mobs did pretty low dmg but seemed to take a load of besting to take down! xD
Great video. Thanks for explaining weapon sets and especially the fact you can assign a particular weapon set to a desired skills. Game changer. I’m playing the Monk. Elemental.
I’m brand new to PoE and I really appreciated this, especially with how you avoided spoilers. I feel like this was a great balance to letting us know the more obtuse/hidden features that are really important without spoiling the process of discovery that makes these games fun. Thanks!
Literally 1 of the best tip videos I've seen. Not just for poe2 but in general. Lots of stuff the game just doesn't tell you. You deserve this comment and a like.
120H in the game and i can tell i was playing it comepletely wrong lol. Thanks a lot and hopefully my engame adventure will get much smoother and better as i can upgrade the quality and put some gems in it.
i went with blood witch for the first charecter, just got to end game and made my detonate dead build i saw a guide for, good tips to know i didnt know a single one you mentioned lol
If I understood the weapon swap thing correctly, you can also apply Blink to the secondary set. So any character can have a "swap teleport". And if your character isn't using a shield as default, you can do Raise Shield as the button to activate set 2, and then you are free to use Blink as well. Seems kind of nifty for a "defensive mode" kind of thing. Get out of trouble, keep blocking and resetting any buff etc you need to, prepare to attack again. I don't get to actually play the game until the weekend, so I'm just guessing.
Missed an important tip for the tiny controller interface - you can hold select (whatever button opens that item menu normally, just press and hold it when it's already opened) and temporarily get the fullscreen menu again temporarily. Great for checking your skills or character page to compare gear effects on your stats or DPS, or putting in points because that tiny skill tree zooms out super buggy and awful.
Sir finally someone who is making a video for new players. The quality thing I knew it could upgrade gears but I didn’t know how to get them. Among all the videos I’ve watched since the game came out you are the only one who explained. Thank you!!!!
Holy S**T this is by far the most and Best educational video I've seen by far for POE2 Thank you so much. The weapon swap thing I use now. I also do that with the stats on a armor using the character screen so I can quickly see what changes and which one is better overall.

Just in regards to the support gems. Yes you can click all but then you have to know which ones are useable on that skill. To get around this look a little to the right of that and deselect "show recommended" and it should show you the list of gems useable for each selected skill. Hope this helps.
Just discovered helpful setting. In interface options check "always on" and it will start to highlight all chests in those dark map corners, I was missing a TON of loot. There is also a setting for sockets to stay on as well, I have sold a few by mistake thinking it was trash white.
