    Generally, people associate a very bad image with the city of Rio de Janeiro and forget (or don't know) that there is a STATE called Rio de Janeiro, which is very diverse and large (with a size equivalent to that of Denmark).
    This farm is a beautiful example, located in the city of Vassouras, which was an important commercial center during the monarchical period of Brazil, as well as Petrópolis, the imperial city of the mountainous region of the state. A completely different city, with a cold climate, German culture and just 70 km from the capital.
    Rio de Janeiro is much more than beaches and favelas, but people don't see it.

      But that's what the international media loves to show about Brazil - favelas in Rio and social problems, basically. As if these were only in Brazil.

    • @lucasdealmeida2528
      @lucasdealmeida2528 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      True. The state of Rio has a HUGE potencial to tourism wich is far from being fully used. There's the mountais and imperial cities, the coffe valey, the beaches of the country side such as buzios and cabo frio or angra dos reis and Paraty, there's also the mountains in the coffe valley in Resende, and itatitia (including Penedo). And even the capital could earn way more than It does with good publicity. But somehow the politicians/business people here didnt realize this potencial yet???

    • @rafaellecavalcanti9446
      @rafaellecavalcanti9446 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mas a cidade do Rio mesmo está longe de ser a pior em taxa de homicídios do país.
      Acontece que uma morte no Rio é notícia, mas, sei lá, em Rondônia não é.
      Salvador e Fortaleza, por exemplo, tem índices piores.

      @@DivertLiving It does remind us of an old american cotton farm.
      Here is a sad, but interesting piece of history about this place.
      Brazil has been the world leader in cofee production for the last 170 years, and that region (Vale do Café) concentrated most of the national production during the second half of the XIX century, thus becoming first place also on the slave trade.
      After the slavery abolition act in 1888, the local economy crumbled and coffee production moved mainly to São Paulo and Minas Gerais, where the market was more competitive.
      The place has a sad and violent past. Fortunately, today there´s not much left from that past, apart from rich history and stunning old coffee barons' mansions and farms.

    The international media when shows Brazil only catch the favelas, soccer, carnival, crimes and poverty looks like they want to create a stereotype about the country but Brazil is much more than that. It’s stunning beach’s, beautiful and huge nature, happy and warm people, culture diversity, nice food, nice vibe, happy, energetic, nature life style, big cities full of diversity.I don’t really understand why the media only show the bad, every country have a bad part but international media only show the bad of Brazil for the world. Hopefully people around the world will be able too travel here and see this amazing place with their own eyes and judge on their own feelings.

    First things first. You guys had been in the farm of Sergio Olaya, a great man that teaches and practice agroforestry and syntropic farming. His contribution to this new thinking how we manage nature and natural process to produce food is amazing (google it if you don't know). Second, 10/10 foreigners think our coffee is so strong, that I try to imagine how coffe outside Brazil tastes. And at the begining the guy says the house seems a southern US house, but actully it is. Brazil in 18th and 19th century farms (sugar cane and coffee) is simmilar to cotton plantations of US from the same era.

    Hi guys! Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos and experience in my native country, Brazil! I love it when I see that other people love my country! Just one minor correction: in Brazil, we don't call that a jungle (the place that you visited in this video), we call it the country or farm. A jungle would be for example the Amazon. Also, I must let you know that the word jungle got a really bad rep when used by foreigners because of the amount of people from other countries who would refer to Brazil as "a jungle" over the decades, painting a completely different picture to others of all that Brazil really is. So Brazilians aren't a huge fan of that word when used by foreigners, we can feel pretty offended. I know you guys probably had no idea and it wasn't your intention at all, but I just wanted to let you guys know.
    Thank you and keep on with the awesome adventures! Great videos! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
