I have done a few classes back in Community College during High School to pursue an IT career. Currently, I am finishing my remaining credits before transferring to my nearby state university to complete my bachelor's in Information Technology. Had to get a degree to have a more significant salary power and seamless process into executive or managemental positions. It is highly recommended to do Dual Enrollment if you are planning to pursue a trades, nursing, IT, or any practical career field as you gain access to the alumni network and the equipment for basically free. I do not know about the WGU, but it's trustworthy as long as the school has accredited, and reliable IT careers programs.
Both of the youtubers I watch seperately have come together! These guys convinced me to try out WGU, I started in the beginning of March this year so far I haven't regretted...yet. Lol. It is tough keeping yourself disciplined but that's also the part I like about it since you will need this skill if you were to run a business in the future and be your own boss. I still got 2 years left to get my Bachelors in I.T and I might aswell proceed to Cybersecurity since you are already more than halfway done with it after you graduate I.T. You can finish a 4 year degree however fast you want in WGU if you just want the degree, given you are smart enough and already know the topics. If you have no idea about the class to begin with there is no way you can pass it by attempting to take the test without studying the material. It's not just another degree mill, it is a legit school.
@@harohar134 The school encourages student's to get an A.A degree(2 Years) in your local community college because it's cheaper and pell grant should be able to cover much of it, in my case I didn't pay anything and was actually able to get +$6,000 excess of the grant. I will use the excess to pay for the student loan once I graduate WGU. A.A is 2 years unless you already earned some college credits in H.S then it would be much less. Without any previous backround in any of the classes, for example; Spreadsheets, which is Excel, took me 3 weeks to finish that class. Another class might take you more than a month like for me, Principles of Management. I don't have any backround with business, learning new concepts takes a bit longer. Me and my mentor decided to take one class at a time (instead of taking all classes at once like in a regular college per semester) and move on to the next class once I pass the exam. You can basically rush every class and "might" manage to pass but at the same time you are doing yourself disservice by not learning anything. It will take me 1 and 1/2 years to finish the degree since I am about to finish the 1st semseter this month. It will take me 4 years of college in total. 2 years for A.A and another 2 years for I.T in WGU.
Thank you for including that last bit about it being a legit school. I have been very much on the fence with either WGU or IMPU and am now even moreso considering wgu for IT. I have a little bit of experience as I went to a vocational school for a year for IT. I’ll def need to brush up on my knowledge
Hey Shane, so would this be the same for any online degree? Let's say a bachelors in business degree that's offered online? Would it make it just as valuable?
Before I enrolled in WGU I thoroughly compared it to SNHU and from what I found both are reputable the difference is that SNHU is a bit more expensive and follows a more traditional approach. SNHU also has an actual brick and mortar school which some students find more appealing because of the stigma online schools have. There are some WGU alumni who work in FAANG companies so I there's your evidence of it being legit. Lol. There's also a business grad who became a Harvard instructor.
This is what I’m doing Going for computer science 🙃 Josh’s videos help a lot Thanks Shane
Same here 👍

That’s what I’m doing getting my associates degree in IT and certs at my community college and finishing in Computer Science at WGU
@@tracy_cakkes I am working towards certifications and AA degree before transferring to the university.
@@Allixar Does your university not have those certs embedded in it's courses?

How much time it would take to complete this degree without any idea on it. Because I am currently in highschool

Any degree with a good upside/ROI/higher income post graduation is great!
Nice to see you , again . I am considering to attend IT online class. This video helps me well, bro. ❤️👍
I follow both awesome TH-camrs, Thanks for this great content Shane! Xo
Me too! Never thought they would get together.
Make a video about UX/UI Design!!!!!
Wow, it is great video. Especially I liked how to get first experience with your portfolio. By the way I'm also doing WGU (Software Development).

Wgu is regionally accredited. So as valuable outside the ivy leagues as any other business degree
