    This video was so helpful! I'm a second year IT student that will may have to transfer schools while we move out of state for my wife's med school.     Thank you for this content Shane! Now I have a better understanding of the IT field.
    For feedback purposes, I didn't like the fact that you didn't separate the time in chapters as the last interview; in the last video, it was easier to follow along and come back to check the specific parts that I wanna watch again.
    Lastly, I would love to watch an economics graduate student; I'm very interested.

    Overall I think there was some good content here. However, I also think this is very narrow. IT is a very broad field. It is more than just help desk and help desk management. I'd really like to see content on the more complex areas of IT. For instance, enterprise architecture, systems integration for satellites, weapons systems, etc. Cybersecurity, IT service management, agile, scrum, portfolio management etc. There are loads of jobs that aren't at the keyboard, and IT degrees are a lot more transferable than people give it credit for.

    This is actually a good idea for a vid because in high school I had to interview someone in order to graduate and you shouldn't really do that during Covid. I also think this will be helpful for introverted kids.

    I currently work in IT at a large company, and you don’t need college-you need experience. Everyone who joined while I was in college is ahead of me now, even my manager, who didn’t go to college! I don’t even use my degree. It feels like a waste of money.

    i am a student at wgu, I can't recommend them enough. Some people have reported having a bad time with the program mentor. But that hasn't been the case for me, they're super supportive, just got my comptia a+ and working on network and security plus. biggest bang for your buck that's for sure.

    I'm very thankful for IT industry that they somewhat don't care about schooling and grades. Because many people do not have money, time and other obstacles to go further. Especially for people who want a change in career.

      So, certifications seem to be more credible than a college degree when it comes to working IT. The workforce is one confusing mess after another.

    Welp I've already got my business degree down pat but I think an IT degree will lead me to a career that will allow me to directly help people, starting with a help desk role. I heard its better to be an IT grad with business knowledge rather than just IT knowledge

    I feel like comptia A+ is pushed too much for other actually good boot camps or internships or entry level on that network engineer Job making reports at first. I really don’t feel like you need to work the help desk and go on outdated comptia curriculum and further he seems like that working with more people might be more of his passion which is possible in other paths in IT which is so large

      Yes especially because a lot of the curriculum is business classes. Tech changes so fast nowadays, but business classes are still extremely valuable. I'm in MIS right now and I love it

    I feel he has a very specific route he’s pushing working up from a help desk position and comptia I’ve taken that test and I also see how you mention the entry to intermediate level which is true but I feel like depending on what you want to be , the route may be different because it’s so broad but I guess you can say it’s a race to get that first step in the door
