Good info! Just bought a 24 500excf. Torn between Motorex, Motul or Maxima Pro. fwiw - Taco guy says the Motul and Maxima Pro+ performed the best with all the UOA he had done. Dont know the intervals though.

@@ridemfast7625 Nice! The 500 has been alot of fun. Yeah, there are a few sources out there giving us the go ahead on longer intervals. For me it was one of those situations that I wanted to verify. That, and I want to post the actual reports for viewers to see. There is another comming soon.

I just bought a '24 500 last Tuesday and I was assuming I would be changing the oil every 10 hours. So you recommend 1000 miles or so? Does the oil filter look good after that much time? I would worry about a paper filter that long. Thanks

Consensus is that bikes subjected to light to moderate conditions and intensity, can have the intervals doubled or even tripled. After this report I am comfortable with 1000 miles and 30 hours. These numbers are safe for a well maintained bike and light riding. Of course, you have to factor in your situation. As for the filter, there were no obvious issues. My next report will be turned up a notch.
