I use a hue play bar on the back of my monitor, one above it on the window sill and a hue bulb on some shelves near desk. gives a nice glow over everything

I wanted to get this only because of the Ambient lighting option, I really don't care about having moving effects and stuff, I already have a cheap basic RGB strip on the back of my desk and that's enough for me. But after seeing demo videos, I was kinda worried it would be too bright and flashy, and apparently, it is. Is there any feature that can lower the global brightness, and make the colour changes "smoother", in order to just have the back reflecting the global colour of a scene, not constantly flashing to represent the actual pixels?

I am looking to get to this to alleviate/hide the IPS glow from my new monitor. I used similar tech to solve a similar problem I had years ago with a Plasma TV, so I'm hoping that this NZXT device can do the same.

As a user of an RGB keyboard and mouse I like the idea of having it behind the monitor but overall I also feel it would be too distracting when working or playing any games. I think i'll save my £90 ;)

I was all for it. Then the pricetag drop and it just isn't worth it imo. I love RGB but £90 just isn't something I can justify right now for some glowy walls lol.
Although, that monitor looking sick.
A lot of that cost has to come from the included software and little competition as you can build something like this for ~10-15€ yourself (some soldering skills required). Or they are just taking a *huge* profit margin here.

Well i'm looking to add color on my desk, Philips Hue or other "home light strip" seems fad compare to thos so even if the technologie isn't the best the value/fonctionnally compare to one light strip from HUE is very interesting.
Do you really think its better than the terminal + halo ?
I think RGB, as with most things, is only good in moderation. To me I don't find flashy rainbow unicorn puke to be that attractive to the eye, however the unlimited customization options presented with RGB products simply cannot be matched. I may just pick this up for my new build, not for a reactive backlight or enhanced immersion, but to finish my build as a statement of my personality through colour.

Fuck CAM. Hue+ was one of the rare buys i regret.
What alternative is there for people like me that have the NZXT ecosystem of AIO, Fans and undermount and now wanted to update RGB for my monitor but it appears that its discontinued. So what can I do to have the RGB for the monitor work with what I currently have.

Right, I had a Lightpack, I funded it and got it a year later. Was it good? yes and no. cable management was fucked with so much extra cable for the strip NZXT wins here already
Lightpack also only works in windowed mode, otherwise nup, you get black.

Not really tbh..if you were to build a pc with the 2080ti and 9900k with 16gb of 3200mhz ram is around 3000$...the Alienware varient of that is 3200$ so not really idk why people say that ig I’m just a Alienware fan boy😂

Rog terminal can , you turn lights off while connected to the AC an d then the pc turns the lights on
at first I had rainbows after I turned off my pc but I manage to set it up thios way
RGB is great for a setup, but i personally dont like lights, i usually turn things off

I have RGB built into my Asus Rog Swift 27" curved monitor that I can change with the monitors control, but they are not as bright as the kit you have.
Wish I could crank up the intensity of the ones in the monitor.
