    Fun test!
    I have installed the Henry Final Drive in my 5th Gen 2016 Goldwing. What i have found that the performance improvement is so improved that the any thought of a Gen 6 with manual trans is no longer a priority, for me at least. With the Henry, 70 mph is now 3200 rpm. Great Goldwing torque under all conditions.
    Enjoyed your post. Look forward to more.

      Thank you for watching and writing and for your kind comment. Sounds like a great solution to cruise on down the highway at a better gear ratio than the stock design could ever offer. It must be night and day to make a change like that-what a terrific solution for a five speed!
      We appreciate you taking time to share about Final Drive-
      Wonder if anyone else out there watching has also made the modification-

      There is a lot of discussion on the gl1800riders forum. I posted my installation and impression there on the 2001-2017 page under my user name Corventure Dave.
      In fact I have installed several Henry units on friends GL1800's. We all have the same positive opinion of the upgrade.
      For fun you may want to check a recent youTube post by my friend Tony at 2Wheel4Fun, Henry Final Drive. He experienced my unit and kinda got distracted by some other things I did! LOL
      Look forward to more of your posts.

    I have never timed mine, but I have to say, Sport Mode is magical. Sometimes, I have the need for speed and she can give you what you desire. Wonderful what the DCT can do to a bike that heavy.

    Yup, sport mode is the real deal. Bought mine in March of 2020. After the 500 mile break in period popped & rode a wheelie by accident, then the bikes abs/ traction control took over. 18 months later it had 38,000+ miles on the clock. 4 years & 10s of thousands of miles, 2 sets of tires & a set of brakes later, its still in the stable as one of my favorites. I have a 2022 with the DCT. I try to avoid sport mode, it pulls hard enough that if you're not concentrating on your throttle control you'll want to be paying attention to how tight you hold the grips. It's got enough torque that it feels like when you put a truck into 4 low and give it a bunch of gas, but unlike the truck it keeps pulling through the gears.

    • @MiddleAgeRoadRage
      @MiddleAgeRoadRage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thanks for watching and also thanks for writing-
      We agree that when you’re in sport mode, ya gotta pay full attention to the throttle and def hang on.
      With your seamless DCT transmission, it requires even more attention. Our manual limits us at the top of each gear, whereas DCT pulls more efficiently, as you know.
      Good luck on the new ride of yours and stay safe - regardless what mode you choose-
      What color did u grab?

    So glad you two made this video!! In sport mode I was getting 4.5 - 4.8 roughly as well. Definetly a lot of force pushing you back into the seat wedge 😀
    Do you ever get any wind buffer on an empty back beat?

    • @MiddleAgeRoadRage
      @MiddleAgeRoadRage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      End buffer isn’t really an issue , unless maybe at 80?
      But we would never do that…😏

    Good video! Thanks for posting it. I current have 2 Gen 5 Wings. 07 and a 12. Have had several. I've been on the fence about the 6 gen bike because of the 112 mph limiter. Yeah, I know. I've heard it all before. lol! Guhl doesn't do reflashes anymore. If something comes available to raise that limit. I might go ahead and get one. I still feel like the 5th gen is a better tourer. Far better wind protection. And night and day better in the stereo. Not to mention the seat.

    • @MiddleAgeRoadRage
      @MiddleAgeRoadRage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You are soooo right about that seat-
      We agree the 112 governor on this bike is super lame 😒
      But we appreciate the weight savings …but don’t get us wrong,
      We’re gen 5 fans too.
      Thanks for your kind words and taking time to comment-

    DCT would be so cool to get times on... that transmission is great. I don't shift too slow on a manual, but I can't come close to the DCT. I can do 0-60 on my Rebel 1100 DCT in around 4 seconds, and that is not maxing it out because I get a little scared of it. I've seen people say they've gotten just under 4 seconds. I couldn't pull that off on a manual for sure.

    • @MiddleAgeRoadRage
      @MiddleAgeRoadRage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DCT is hard to beat- no human shifts as fast a machine…
      Those a solid times on your rebel for sure-
      The Goldwing is a little easier to pinch due to the traction control and doesn’t feel like it’s going to get a way from you…
      So grateful you checked out this video as well-
      And thank you for sharing your experience as well-

    Enjoyed the video.Your manual gearchange was almost instant so what’s the saving with DCT ? I would quess less than one tenth.If test rider riding someone else’s bike ( not frightened of damaging his tyres or clutch) I’m sure the manual would be quicker.The Dct seems to take its time to get going! Hello there- you may be very correct in your estimate of tenths of seconds.
      Sadly, we can afford ONE Goldwing, so we couldn’t test against a DCT…
      🤣💰
      We are manual fans, but many DCT folks swear by the fear changing prowess of a computer.
      Thank you for your thoughts and taking time to watch the video.

    • @joycecottingham9432
      @joycecottingham9432 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi,a couple of observations,you could do 0_60 with one change and you changed up early at about 4000 revs losing 2000 revs of high power-which a DCT would get right every time.The DCT is has different gearing and changes three times getting to sixty.I’m not at all anti DCT and ride a bagger. To sum up the DCT is quicker for most people but I would expect an expert on a manual to be as fast.PS Who cares really? 😊😊😂 Richard
