The Goldwing is limited to 112MPH bout 180KPH. Its a cruiser not a Sportsbike. I'm on my second and never felt the need to go faster.
Yes it is a cruiser but why limit it tho? What advantage does limiting it give?

First thing that came to mind watching this. You're very fortunate to have access to well maintained German freeways, you could never do that here in America and keep your spine in one piece. 👍
Without even riding on the Autobahn, I can tell you, this bike on these speeds, you will not feel a thing. I do, at times, on the NJ TPK, early in the morning, on a Sunday, 110 MPH and she is sooooo smooth, like I do 40 MPH. Just an incredible machine to own.

What I miss about driving in Germany, people know how to drive. You are very disappointed when you come back to the States after a few years. Notice how traffic moves out of the way when they see you from behind.

It's smooth as cream though. Very comfortable. For when the speed bug bites you keep a second racer e.g. an H2/H2R, Busa etc.
I thought it would be faster than that. I used to go 120 on a certain stretch of road on my Kawasaki concours zg1000. The Concours was a heavy bike but not as heavy as your goldwing. Btw, your goldwing looks great!

Nos anos 90 não havia radares entre Porto e Carvalhos na A1; a 180 as curvas ( com os raios de hoje ), tornavam-se apertadas e estreitas e era preciso inclinar muito a mota; forçá-la um pouco com o corpo. Era uma BMW K1...de serviço. Nunca mais voltei a experimentar a sensação. Nessa autobahan parece nem haver curvas...
Dá para ver que vou à velocidade que a mota dá, até tirei a mão direita do guidador para levantar a viseira do capacete e não se passa nada. Se quiser ver o bocado que fiz (só filmei uma pequena parte) foi de Saarbrücken até Schweich pela 1, mas continuava sempre sem limite de velocidade até Daun. Abc,

I have a 2003 JDM Corolla Fielder wagon. It came with a 190HP 2ZZ-GE engine.
It easily hits the limiter at 190km/hr !

Está limitada aos 180km/h por causa das novas normas Europeias. Ja existem carros novos tambem a virem limitados aos 180km/h, como por exemplo a marca Volvo. Abraço

Se num incremento de 1k rpm aumentou 40kmh, num incremento de 2k rpm chega aos 80kmh, portanto em 6ª tem capacidade de chegar aos 240kmh se o motor tiver força para vencer o atrito e o ar....

Por ser uma Bagger (acho eu) deve ser por questões de segurança. Sinceramente nunca procurei informações do motivo por que limitaram. Raramente ando a 180, daí tb não me preocupar muito. Normalmente em auto-estrada vou nos 110/120. Abc,
O motivo para a Honda meter limitador, terá a ver com certeza com o limite dos travões... Não é fácil fazer parar um monstro desse tamanho à 240kmh....
Mas para quem faz muita AE deve ser um upgrade espetacular ( limitador off e melhores travões)

i have the same bike, but it shuts down at 112mph, lame.....its fast as hell up to that point...i hear you can acquire an ecu from australia which eliminates the top speed restriction.

Why tour and not Sport mode?
Tour mode seems much more adequate since the rider already picked up his speed and is holding it in continuity on a straight road. Sport mode should make the throttle more responsive (better acceleration) but potentially more snappy and since the road is very straight the linear power band of tour mode definitely seems like a good choice. It's a heavy bike at that so why not keep it smooth.

Hello! Welcome to the channel! To be completely honest, my Gold Wing has speed limit at 180 or 185 km/h and I knew I would reach easy the top speed. Even in Eco mode it reaches easy the top speed. But I agree in Sport Mode would be better the exhaust sound :)

Here in the States, they tend to frown on you doing 100 on most roads. In Germany it's normal. Many if not most cars and bikes have limiters on their revs and or speed. But you already knew that.

@@ronseguin7289 160mph? that's roughly 257km/h but the goldwing's topspeed is around 180 KM/H, so therefore ZR, VR, Y tires are useless, since you wouldn't be able to reach the max. speed for the tires.

300+ kg with an 1800cc engine and only 112mph (180kph) is not very good. Most decent tourers will out perform this. In fact any decent car will out perform this. I've been a motorcyclist for 50 odd years and toured Great Britain and Europe with my mates several times over and only one of us had a tourer, a Honda Blackbird I think, and that was slow compared to the other bikes. Yes I know, speed limits and all that stuff, but I'm just saying you don't need a chubber like a goldwing to go touring and enjoy yourself.
1:45, with my limited Italian I seem to think it's limited to 180kph/4,000RPM. Be that as it may, this bike's touring 'sweet spot' is probably 140kph, there's no need to go faster. 4,000RPM at 180kph is a pretty relaxed RPM, imagine the revs at 140kph.
Honda Blackbirds were proper quick in the day.
@@Visionery1 I can't understand why anyone would pay between £29k to £32k to cruise at 70-90mph with a top end of 112mph when there are so many cheaper alternatives out there. Let's be honest, the goldwing may be a nice bike but it's to big, to heavy, to slow and to expensive.
Fair to say , at the same time, it appears though it happily would cruise at that speed forever without a problem.
