      We just returned from our 10 day trip in Italy and after pulling it through 6 airports, 4 train stations plus platforms and at least 1 mile and a half walk to our AirBnb in Merano, I can honestly say I had no problems pulling it at all. I would be we working to get a follow-up video out in the next week and if you are not subbed I will post a link to it here in a reply. Thanks for watching and the comment!

      Yep, I still like it and use it for air travel as well as road trips. It's held up well, has a few scuff marks on it but that doesn't bother me. Some came off with the magic eraser some not but not a deal breaker for me. Hope you enjoy the case and thanks for watching!

    You stated at the start of the video that you wanted to know how much the exterior pocket could hold but you glossed over that. Would have been interested in seeing a demo of what could be stored and still being able to close it. For example, can a headphone case be stored, with a 15” laptop and iPad - as they can be quite bulky?

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, I should have done that, I did talk about it in our video in Italy, you can see it here th-cam.com/video/OS8lcncjf3c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z3mR_SBRe8aQpSDU&t=178. You can get just about anything flat (laptop, paperwork) in that outside packet but anything with any kind of bulk is going to make it a problem to close. I travel with Sony noise canceling headphones and with them in the case it really pushes on the pocket to they point that I just transferred them to my backpack . Hope this info is helpful and thanks for watching!

    I’d be concerned with the locks on the side getting damaged putting your luggage in overhead bins…as you often must put them on their side bookcase style. You don’t have to worry about that with the away as much. I wished they made a hard case underseat luggage though, I would be very interested in that.

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I quickly figured out there was no perfect case out there when I started shopping. I agree the locks on the side maybe a problem in the future. I went that route because I saw an Away reviewer say they got water in their lock from pulling it in the rain which caused some issues after it rusted. I'll update you if the side locks start to get banged up. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    Great review. Purchased the exact same one back in July but haven’t used it yet ..plan on using it next year on my trip to Italy. It would be nice to see a follow up video when packed, especially for the shallow side where the outside pocket is.

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I still have no complaints with it after several planes, trains and town streets plus a few stateside car trips. I think all luggage is over priced but it is what it is, I think it was worth what I paid and don't forget the $20 discount in the description. Also we have another video comparing the Monos to the Level 8 and the Level 8 has a few features the Monos doesn't, so it maybe worth watching it before you purchase th-cam.com/video/62SQvgCHbSI/w-d-xo.html

    Would you prefer this one or their Hybrid series ?

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I really couldn’t commit on the Monos hybrid because I have never seen it. I do have a Level 8 aluminum case that they sent me and it’s a tank! I took it to Spain last month and it’s a great case the only trade off is the extra weight. I love my Monos and went back and forth over taking it on that trip but really want to see how the Level 8 would do, all and all it worked great. If you don’t mind the extra weight ( I think it's 1.5 lbs extra for both) either case would be worth it. Thanks for watching and the comment.

  • @hdhdhhehe6709

    I only buy Pro Xxpert Xtreme tier luggage products. Unfortunately Monos doesn’t make luggage at this specification. But it is adequate for relative amateur individuals without my level of expertise.

  • @wnose

    I don't get it - aren't zippers easily opened by a ballpoint pen? I prefer luggages with latches, but they seem to be going away.

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer latches as well but all of the brands I look at only made them in aluminium and the price was higher that I wanted to pay. Maybe when we move to full time travel in a few years we can justify the cost. We appreciate you watching and the comment!

    How much does it weigh? When we went to Italy in May our carry on could only weigh 8 kg which is 17.4 lbs and also had to fit international size dimensions.

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @K Man3968 we just got back and I saw your comment so I put it on the scale before I unpacked it. Mine was at 10.4 kg, I got gate checked at my home airport but everyone did it was that small of a plane, so small in fact my camera backpack barely fit in the overhead. We flew United, Lufthansa, and Air Dolomiti. Not once did anyone ask to weigh it or for me to put it in the little cage to measure the size for international travel. I am a bit of an over-packer so I probably could get it down to 8 if I had to. I believe they have a 100-day trial period (check their FAQ for that) but you can not use it in transit (basically you can not take a trip and send it back). If I was really interested I would order one, pack it like I was going on a trip, weigh it to see if would work then send it back if it didn't. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

    thanks for the video. does the front pouch compress if over packed inside? does the liner zip out for washing?

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Kathy the front pouch will bulge a little if over packed and I don't think it zips out. They do give you a laundry bag and two shoe bags so that should help cut down on the need to wash the inside🤞. Hope that helps, I'm working on a video from our trip with it and should be posting it soon. Thanks for watchin!

  • @arlencarlson

    I got the same color and model. I really wanted the front pocket option. But disappointed that it is very tight…to the point of being almost unusable for my 16” MBP. I have yet to use the suitcase for my next trip.

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree, it is not user friendly for anything other than documents. I was able to put a small amenity kit that United gave me. We are currently in Italy and will have a follow-up video coming as soon as we return. It has handle well in the airports and on the cobblestone streets of Bologna and Merano. Thanks for watching and the comment.

      So the pro is not worth it because the front pocket is useless?

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's useful and I was probably pushing the limits packing for 10 days with it. Because of the amount of stuff I had it was putting a lot of pressure on the back of the pocket. I don't think I would have had a problem if I was only packing for a 5 to 7 day trip. A laptop, documents or small narrow items should not be a problem. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    • @williamlawless9229

      Wonder if the pro plus would give enough room to help with the 16” MBP

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly, the Pro is an inch bigger on the inside and the pocket is I think a inch and half bigger. One think to consider is I had packed for a 10 day trip if you are just packing for a few days I don’t think it would be an issue. Hope that helps, thanks for watching

  • @ThatKY

    Does the front pocket take away from interior packing capacity?

    • @Tankfultravels
      @Tankfultravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      No but the interior does affect the outside pocket some if that makes sense. Our first trip with it was 10 days so I had a far amount of stuff in it which did press against the pocket making it hard to put anything other than small or thin (paperwork) items in the pocket itself. A shorter trip with less stuff I do not think it would be an issue. If you want to see what I packed in it you can see it here th-cam.com/video/OS8lcncjf3c/w-d-xo.html. I also have a video posting tomorrow that compares the Monos side by side with the Level 8.
