This always was a pretty meme weapon... But in the early days of BF1 it was also pretty much a joke. The Experimental's Pedersen device did receive buffs over BF1's lifespan, notably in the damage department. It also has pretty decent hipfire stats too, almost acting as a Trench variant - it can be an effective aggressive Scout weapon, just try to get the drop on your enemies, don't miss your shots... and don't think you can go toe-to-toe with most SMGs.
It also has a bolt-action firemode, which was added in the later part of BF1's lifecycle - meaning that you can have a very effective ranged weapon alongside your pretty reliable close quarters weapon. But more on the iron sights M1903 later. For now, (mostly) Pedersen kills!

This weapon is quite good, for the obvious reason of being practically two weapons in one package, much like the General Liu rifle.
Yeah, definitely! A single press of the button and you're swapping back and forth between your close quarters RSI-simulator and your long-range infantry rifle!

Yes it is and The skin is in reference to Dwight D. Eisenhower. What interesting about him than his role in WW2 was that he didn’t get to see combat aka posted overseas to Europe by the time World War 1 ended in 1918 since he was promoted to captain for commanding a tank training center in Texas and while the US was on it’s second year of Neutrality in 1915, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant after graduating from West Point Academy.
well... this weapon is beautiful mainly because of the two fire modes, the first-pistol ammo is good for medium and close range combat and the second one is typically for sniping :)

I recently just got back into bf1 and this gun feel so fun to use.
Just got back into BF1 and this gun is so fun to use. I play very aggressively and I focus objectives a lot so this lets me play as an in-your-face scout who has free UAV with the flares lmao great vid
Surprisingly good hipfire, but given the insane damage drop-off, still a pea shooter. You can make it work, but it's just not fun. And I hate the rifle iron sights.
Yeah, admittedly I only use the Experimental variant when I want to use the 'Infantry' variant of the M1903 - the Pedersen is usually an afterthought that I sometimes pull out (or I intentionally use for the sake of grabbing footage for a video!)
@@Foddeur I see a certain value in it, as being a hybrid weapon it manages to play an aggressive role better than the other rifles in the class (the semi auto mode is basically a copy of the m1917 carbine, which by itself is already better than basically any secondary available for the scout), moreover, as it is an infantry rifle, it has no scope and therefore no scope glint, which helps to camouflage your position (too bad the iron sights don't help, but you can get around this by increasing the magnification and also a weapon skin can help to highlight it, but of course you will also need to get used to it).
I used to play a lot of PTFO Scout but never liked this thing too much. I had like 3 service stars from goofing around with it but preferred the Russian 95 Trench with the Bodeo.
Yeah, the 1895 Trench and Bodeo are absolute powerhouses!
@@Foddeur I love revolvers in BF1, especially the Bodeo, Gasser, and No. 3. I had 22 service stars for the No. 3 it was my most used Secondary.

@@AutumnBun321 so how do you switch from the normal bolt to the pedersen device on PS4?
@@ragnot95 I believe it is the downward arrow on the D-pad, though I could be wrong as I think I tweaked the controls quite a bit when I first got the game like 3 years ago. Probably is indeed the D-pad though.
