Battlefield 1 - The General Liu Rifle Factory/Storm (2021)

  • It's a very interesting Medic rifle, the Liu - but for me it was always overshadowed by the Fedorov Avtomat that accompanied it in the Russian DLC, and the RSC 1917 that preceded it in They Shall Not Pass. A lot has changed since it was first released, but even then I've rarely used it. Likely because I'm a bad shot, and there's something about the Liu that throws me off - I'll feel like my sights are on a guy, but the shot misses. But when I gave it a try recently, I think I managed to get the hang of it after a few rounds and it was a lot of fun. Think I'll try and use it more often.
    Certainly a great choice for Medics looking for long-range fighting thanks to the bolt action mode giving it the G98's damage model - and the semi-auto fire mode is pretty quick for spam firing in close quarters... It just might not be the best for taking on entire groups of enemies at once. Leave that to the Fedorov!
    Also, stick around until the end to see the best all-class sidearm in the game in action.

    Even to this day so many people sleep on this weapon, with it's bolt action fire mode you've got one of the most versatile medic weapons in the game, on PS4 I can count on one hand how many times I've been killed by it. Granted it's not the easy weapon to use, but it's so satisfying when you can get it to work for you. 😃

      I unlocked the General Liu about a week ago and already got five service stars on it. It's a very strong weapon and each shot quickly can quickly eradicate an elite class or cavalry's health, as well as regular infantry in three body shots reliably. The bolt action mode is so good and the amount of headshots I have acquired is insane. One of my favourite weapons in the game.

    The General Liu Rifle does have some interesting history to its real life prototype counterpart.
    The problem this gun didn’t make it to the Experimental stage is because in order to have it operate it as a Self-Loading Rifle, the Hanyang Arsenal Manufacturer needed springs for it but unfortunately there weren’t any commercial made spring in order to get the firing mechanism to work though the Straight Pull to act it out as a Bolt Action Rifle, similar to the Ross Rifle and Gewehr M.95 in Game, would have been the ideal choice of operating properly.
    This information is from Flakfire TH-cam, which I highly recommend to check, who did a video on Weapons from the In the Name of the Tsar DLC. Please check his channel which also informative.

    Your doing God's work actually showing the clips where you miss 😅 unlike every other TH-camr who likes to pretend they are 100% accurate

      I'm pleased you enjoyed the video! But be aware, I do also heavily cherrypick clips to use in my videos - there is a slew of very sloppy and clumsy gameplay that doesn't make the light of day (at least I hope it doesn't!) because I always try to look for entertaining clips to show off the fun and interesting weapons available in BF1! But there are moments where I feel my own incompetence/misfortune is amusing enough to include for you all to see. Thanks again!

    Trivia, the stats image for the Storm variant shows that it apparently has less control than the Factory, I assume it's a bug, but that always tripped me out. Also, WHY DOESN'T THE CHARACTER HOLD THE FOREGRIP ON THE STORM?!

      It's really inconsistent which weapons in BF1 have the character model hold the foregrip on Storm variants or not!

    I really need to use this gun, I just never get around to it! Nice clips~

      Sounds similar to my situation! Medic's got a load of good weapons, so I felt this one kinda fell by the wayside. Thanks!

    The Reason the Bolt action feels so inaccurate, is because you cant hold your breath to make it not sway like with Normal Bolt-actions

    This is an interesting weapon I really like the sweet spot on the bolt action you can really bust some heads and then switch to rapid fire for cqc

    this thing is dummy op really even only in auto mode, like the Pederson but it's bolt action mode not being useless

    Tried the factory recently and I feel how I imagine most people felt when Fedorov came out. I'm actually having fun playing medic for once.

    For some reason I heard a dog or a wolf on 9:43 (great video man keep up the great work!) So apparently you don't have to pull the hammer back while spotting people huh.

    • @Foddeur
      @Foddeur  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's the enemy screaming as he dies - and yeah, if you have the spotting animation play while using the peacekeeper the hammer cocks itself. Just shows my usual approach to a gunfight in that I try and spot the enemy while shooting them. Means that even if I die, the team will know where the guy is!

    I hate with this gun that when you un-ADS and then re-ADS when in bolt action mode after you fire a shot, it gets all weird on you. Other than that, I’ve gone 50-2 with it in some ops games

      I think you'd also like the RSC 1917, it's a skill cannon that's semi auto, but it deals a lot of damage

    ...what is the difference between factory and storm variant variant?

  • @joshuawalker7038
    @joshuawalker7038 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is there actually a difference between the factory and storm?

    • @Foddeur
      @Foddeur  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Other than the usual Factory spread benefits and Storm recoil ones? Nothing really noticeable to me in practice I'm afraid! I guess it might apply more when using the semi-auto mode and firing kinda rapidly, the Storm doesn't feel like it kicks up as much compared to the Factory.
