- Today we take a look at DHL Automotive - Midpoint, Minworth, Sutton Coldfield B76 9EH.
As soon as we walk onto site, security come out and speak to us.
Everything was going well until a member of staff got involved.
The security supervisor arrived and handled it very well indeed.

They need the security to protect the public from the employees!
I'm going to assume that this is the very reason they employ such people as security guards, i.e., because they are a danger to the public hence good at keeping members of the public away from the site.
Maybe the police need security to protect the public from them.

I think that's the first time I've seen, on any audit whatsoever, security saying it's "fine" to fly a drone over with no opposition at all. THEY ARE LEARNING!
Awwwwwww bless the security guard. He was shaking when he used the walkie-talkie and unsurprisingly very nervous knowing he was on camera. He did great, good on him 👍
Brilliant Security at this site. Did their job very well and respected your rights to video. Brought a tear to my eye to see the job being done properly for a change. Security manager even give you his name. Well donr "Mann Security"

Didn't expect the cleaner to turn up for a fight. In his defence he had probs just swept the smoke shed and heard so say he had missed a few butt's. Cleaners can be touchy.

Security were amazing! Absolutely love that the security manager spoke to his guy, assessed the situation first and then came and spoke to you. Great work, MAN do seem to be one of the better companies with well trained, conscientious people who dont jump to aggression or tyranny as a general rule - keep it up... or DJ will get yer ;)

That's how security should be, very polite guys . no interrogation no raised voices and everyone went about there business .
The DHL staff need to muzzled it seems.
What's the point in having trained security onsite if they're going to be undermined by aggressive staff?
I remember this one time whilst working at DHL, a round 12 illegal immigrants entered the site via breaking into a lorry. We all came out and made them stay in the back of the lorry until the police arrived. But yeah, let the security man on his own deal with that, especially when 3 of them had hand made weapons on them.. you do realise what kind of threats trespassers potentially come with don't you? Or are you blind to these factors?
DJ isn’t 12 immigrants with weapons he’s 1 man with a camera.. compare apples to apples mate

And certainly verbally unprovoked. He just went straight in before DJ had done or said anything to him or DHL, whom he was there to represent. He made several wrong assumptions and started being aggressive from the very beginning.
Hand up to the camera as if to hide himself from the footage/evidence
Ultimately the video side can serve as a good way of protecting the owner of the footage, in case the conversation gets heated. It is for safety, as well as other precautions. It protects both ways, because people are less likely to become physical when on camera.

DJ, When I first come across auditors, I thought all sorts of negative things, but now watching a variety auditors the last nearly 3 months, I've really grown to like what people like you do, but mainly you. You're the only one I prefer to watch due to your approach, clear communication and non-aggressiveness. I get what guys such as yourself do and it has even encouraged me to think about doing it. Maybe 1 day. I've got too much happening in my life right now but maybe I'll do this in the future to help raise awareness of photographers rights.

I concur ... theres Too many bell ends out harassing and trying to get police and citizens to do something stupid .. just angers me . I prefer this style of "Auditing", and i use that word loosely here as Dj isnt really Doing your typical Audit, to me its more of a "Curiosity" and "Inquisitive" pursuit towards businesses etc . Theres no need to be a douchebag, too many of them already out in public and they appear in just about every video ... One or 2 Douches per video is plenty . Cheers

The good man from MAN was a great example of first class security
It's a common thread that the less well educated people you encounter tend to dive in aggressively. Those MAN guards were first class and handled the situation professionally.

The meaning of challenging. Is if you see someone walking around the site you never seen b4. But once security was chatting to you. The gonk had no reason to challenge you. But I feel he has wanted to say thm words for a long time.

Hi D J, this is not the first time you have picked on a DHL site, they offer good value for your efforts. You are not even there for two minutes when a Man man comes over without his SIA badge on display, does not introduce himself or explain why he wants to speak to you, just starts asking questions. He is pleasant enough and not too hostile but the next twerp comes barrelling in and acts the big I am. He says he does not like you being on 'his' site, the fact that it is private property is irrelevant, it is clearly open to the public, he needs to climb back into his tree.
When the security manager arrives he politely request your indulgence while he talks to the first one, when he comes back he asks you some questions and listens to your answers, perfectly sensible and proper. Security pass staff fail!. Good work as per usual.

When we were in the middle of the Covid pandemic, i had a few run ins with over zealous supermarket staff who were acting as the security at the door entrance to make sure every one stuck to the social distancing rules, but one or two of these women, got carried away with themselves and started barking orders at me, which i do not like! I barked back, which sadly escalated the situation, but in hind sight i wish i had known of your channel back then, as you seem to get it just right, every time! x

3:04 this guy who works for DHL has got what we call in the trade as little man syndrome, thinks he's more important than anybody else, and can tell others what to do, he really did not like you standing up to him, I had the same thing today, while recording video for a local golf course, while they held a tournament today, man on a horse starts shouting at me, to not record him, or take photos of him, so I did take photos of him, and to get him blacklisted from their grounds, I politely told him to go away, I was not interested in him, I was no where near him, I cared more about the horses, and not making them scared of the noise from the drone, I have the DJI mini 3, and it was around 40m above some golfers at the time, there are muppets in the world, and the worst thing is they breed like rabbits, so they are more and more on them.

The Security officers on this site are first class. This video should be used as a training video for the numpty dumpty security guards that you often run into. Speaking of numpty dumpty men, the man that came over to you while you were talking to the security guard, you were quite correct in getting defensive with him and telling him to leave security matters to the organ grinder! Liz Truss has promised to save our farmland for produce and to put all solar panels on commercial warehouse roofing, by the looks of things there's a big job ahead.
Putting solar panels on large roofs is a no brainer to me. No need to buy/rent extra land and make a connection to the grid. No need for extra security/electric fences. Just need the capital and the long term business plan and your quids in 👌

I’ve been a taxi driver for 40 years. I can spot a drunk person a mile away with a blindfold on. The shorter DHL guy is drunk, 100% slam dunk.

Hi,,DJ,,about ,70years ago ,my grandad was walking through the old field attached to this building,it was a public right of way,,he was attacked by a hideous looking VAMPIRE,it was in all the papers,, anyway after much deliberation,they caught the man from Transilvania , which ,,by the way.. means Notty Ash .my grandad was just minding his own business walking home,,when he was approached by a man of strange appearance ,,it turned out it was KEN DODD, coming home really steaming drunk,with a ventriloquist dummy under his arm,,Mr,Dodd got off Scott free in court,as his witness the dummy pleaded guilty of biting my grandads neck under the influence,true story.

Security were excellent however, their SIA Identity cards must be on display at all times while they are operating in their security capacity .

That guy that came over to you DJ just wanted to flex his muscles and you are 100% correct in letting security deal with it I'm a security guard myself , mind you the security guy was a bit slow on engaging to defuse situation only intervened when you mentioned it but nice chap redeemed himself he a asset to man security I might apply now for a job with man security thay seem to be on the ball and security manager seems to engage nicely with security staff and members of the public , I hope going by the actions of these two DHL guys at the beginning the rest arnt as hostile it would be a shame for DHL pr . I worked with an ex-rugby player, and he was a big bruiser of a guy. When he was a warehouse guy he approached a person who had no hi-viz vest on, and he had never seen this guy before. He asked him who he was, why he had no hi-viz vest on and offered to take him to the office to sort things out. This was actually in the warehouse! Turned out he was a major director and had been walking around on his own for half an hour, and nobody had approached him until then. Mike, the guy I was working with and I'm talking about, he got mentioned at major meetings and ended up a supervisor/manager there solely off how he approached the unknown guy (director) and how he did it. Mike was a great guy, though.
