This was really interesting, the site used to be an American Military hospital (believe it was USAF) before taken over by Compaq/HP.. There were three data halls in the HP facility, called Alpha, Beta and then later an extension to Beta called Gamma. There seems to have been a lot of landscaping on the site as the two HP data halls were dug into either side of a hill, the Beta and Gamma hall were where the pond area is and Alpha where the construction site is, they created a redundancy where if a bomb was dropped on one data hall the theory was that the hill would protect the other data hall so often you had mirrored systems between the halls or mirrored to other data centre sites... HP over a number of years decided not to invest in the data centre and concentrated on their new data centres in Wynyards and Doxford before eventually closing and being sold to Amazon... There was a thriving rabbit population on the site due to the data centre fences keeping out predators... Really interesting to see how the site has been developed and glad it stayed a data centre as there is so much infrastructure with power and data it would be a shame if all that went to waste..

Most of the PMR radios are digital now you'd be hard pushed to pick anything up on the close call on the Uniden. Had a 3500XLT scanner was great back in the day of analogue communications. Great for near airports Close Call.

My Father was a USAF doctor stationed at RAF Burderop during the 1960's. Our family lived in Wroughton. The facility you show is the old hospital site. Another secretive site seems to be the old USAF officer housing near the abandoned RAF Wroughton station. Now, apparently public housing, the old enlisted married housing is freely accessible. However, the adjacent officer housing seems to be restricted. Google earth stops at a mock barrier at the entrance.

Interesting how Amazon publicise all the solar panels they are retrofitting onto their warehouse, but put a new build data centre up and there isn't a single one to be seen anywhere. The antennae on the roof are collectors for the lightning protection system. The lightning bolt hits them first and then gets directed through a copper /aluminum lattice over the roof, down the outside of the building and into the ground away from all the sensitive electronics.
In Feb 2003 I switched on my scanner and within minutes got a broadcast saying Columbia (space shuttle) was lost... nipped around to let my neighbour know and we searched for info..found nothing. Love the security of this site. Site security is picking a row with DJ Audits. 2 mins into the video. And a transit van drives strait onto the site. Swerves around the barrier and it’s gone. Onto the site. While the security guard is picking a row with DJ and allowing a breach of security. Is there any point in the security guard being there.
Yes you are spot on. I mention the security barrier is only a short one so isn’t fit for purpose. I could have been a distraction to get the vehicle access onto site 👍
Most of the PMR radios are digital now you'd be hard pushed to pick anything up on the close call on the Uniden. Had a 3500XLT scanner was great back in the day of analogue communications. Great for near airports Close Call.
Any model of scanner which you recommend for nowdays?
DJ would make a great detective
Its great fun now and then!
Looks identical to the one being built in Didcot for Amazon. Good work DJ
You're such a nice guy you say wee instead of piss. 👍
Child friendly where possible.
Just FYI amazon WILL ban you from their website if you annoy them too much. This includes retaliatory bans against your addresses and family members.
OMG, how childish is that...
I laughed when you said the police with educate them because the police know nothing about drone laws either 😂
Judging by your green trousers, you are dressed as a Christmas elf ? Good on ya !
"We'll see about that!" Haha!! Your handling of Al and his chum was perfect.
We'll see about that! Turns round like a petulant teenager about to stomp off back home to mummy. What an utter Tea Cake. Embarrassing what a plonka.
Someone needs to tell that guard about horseshoes and hand grenades.
When these insecurity guards make contact with you, ask them how long they have been employed there, what they did during their earlier careers, and their current qualifications and experience as it would help your audience decide if they wanted to apply for similar jobs. It will be interested to know!
if only you had the slightest idea 😂😂😂😂
My Father was a USAF doctor stationed at RAF Burderop during the 1960's. Our family lived in Wroughton. The facility you show is the old hospital site. Another secretive site seems to be the old USAF officer housing near the abandoned RAF Wroughton station. Now, apparently public housing, the old enlisted married housing is freely accessible. However, the adjacent officer housing seems to be restricted. Google earth stops at a mock barrier at the entrance.
Your best audit to date. Pleasant, assertive, robust, marvellous, plus, you respected my time by fast forwarding through the litter pick yet kept video Continuity . I think Im in love 😘 lol
I did think that part may have been too fast but you got it so that means a lot 🙏
Love it, dj. awesome how you hold your own and don't take no nonsense 👌
Its like "I ALMOST own this house, so I can come in"
The shot at the end was awesome.
Have they finally figured out it's advertising?
Not yet mate. 🤣
Report them for a GDPR breach. Let us know how that goes please.
Looks abit overkill for a tech centre. Good job DJ 👍
AWS will be doing it because the customers they wish to host data for require it 👍🏻
I am surprised that there are so few solar panels given that data centers are major users of power.
Because they now they are rubbish especially during the British winter
I disagree. My solar panels saved me €1200 in the last year - 1/3rd of my usage. Not insignificant.
Those antennas you are referring to are actually lightning protection conductors.
Very good quality drone videos will see more again
They were educated. Good audit.
you the man are going to be the health secretary soon and you don't know it, i am a HSE advisor and i see where you are going, for good works on your videos, the people need to take these company's into account to the government regulations, because they seem to be exempt i dont think so guys they will pay a high price well done bro
14:05 And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how you shut down little authoritarians. Way to set boundaries!
The building looks like it's a part of project harp.
Your a brave guy, if them antennas had been switched on David would have fallen out of the sky 😆
Amazon top secret...So they can avoid UK Taxes perhaps? LOL!
Yet another Great video DJ, Amazing how the site is being constructed.
This is gold bro 👍🏼
I wonder if these places ever have air defences
Brilliantly handled DJ👍
He "almost" murdered you. I'd press charges!
I almost thought about running as far as I could inside and leaving once they asked me to.
Perfectly done 👌🏻. Great watch that mate
About an hour later the BBC made a first announcement.... beyond that it was mildly interesting hearing how many wheelchairs were required for flights returning from ski destinations.
Shortly after local Police switched to digital comms. . .therefore removing the risk of accidentally overhearing them.
You are almost in our neck of the woods😂
The next few videos are in this same area.
