    Holy balls, when he walks up the stairs and his "evil" theme is playing in the background...I think I had a heart attack.

    I remember that scene with Todd walking up the stairs like it was yesterday. I don't know why it always stuck with me, but it always did, and still does give me chills.

    "You're not a man. You're not even human." "Well, then we were made for each other." In my opinion those were the best lines in this clip. The combination of Roger's amazing delivery (the way he speaks, the look on his face) and the perfectly timed close up make it an extremely memorable moment. The rest of the clip after that is quite a rush as well, but those lines set the mood for it all. Especially since Todd has said more than once that they "were made for each other", and he was right.

    Wow, I remember these scene like it was yesterday. The looks that he gave her scared the mess out of me the everytime I watch this. This was great acting from both RH and KDP. I felt both of their pain. I cried when he told her that he is glad the baby is dead and that he hopes she doesn't have another one. I can't believe they didn't win a Emmy for this. Who made that messed up decision? Thank you for posting these.

    There's a FINE line btw true love & deep hate. Theses scenes convey these emotions & so much more. It was terrifying & satisfying @ the same time. To this day, it's still my favorite T&B scene. No two other actors, I have ever seen have the level of chemistry like Roger & Kassie share. It's RAW, It's PASSIONATE, they're acting "soul mates"....PERIOD! Who ever was responsible that year for pulling the Emmy robbery on Roger & Kassie should have been FIRED DAMNIT!!!

    @cheetahinireland18 Yes-she is pregnant with Starr there-pretty horrible, I know. Perhaps the most intense scene in soap history-and Sonny and Brenda have nothing on this...

      A lot of women don't know when to do so, that's what makes this so realistic. They both were led by their emotions & in the moment and that's what messes everything up.

      littlesongbird1 His performance with this character was breathtaking and unbelievably his acting is better than it ever was, the young actors on General Hospital should study this, she was great too . This is acting 101, to, to deliver in a performance, to eject your personality as much as possible,don't think about anything , get into it and act ., that's what great actors do. If only the GH writers would take a cue from this particular story from old OLTL here , borrow if they have to from the classics if they have to and write better

    Stomach in knots! What a frightening and uncomfortable scene. To me the scariest moments in this clip are the hand on the railing and him taking off his jacket - subtle but the meaning behind them is scary as hell.
    This belt scene stuff is like watching Jaws; you know what is lurking right below the surface but you don't quite see it all.
    RH is either the best actor in history or has a bit of a demon in him for being able to play evil so well!

    Wait, when Todd says he hopes Blair never has another baby and she looks horrified and she's on the stairs Todd looks like he has a moment of clarity. I faintly hear him say I'm sorry. All the other lies don't cancel out what she said about the baby to get him to marry her. He turns back into Todd who is absolutely frightening~

    it's not easy to watch it but you can't help it....he's UNREAL and so is SHE....these scenes must have been so emotionally draining for them....and they so deserved those Emmys.

  • @fatimagic1365

    this remains one of the most chilling scenes in daytime, and as hard as this is to watch, there's an intensity to it that's also hard to look away from. obviously roger is at his a game here, but people really don't give kassie enough credit for how raw and emotional her performance is. seeing blair go from desperate to horrified to bitter and filled with rage in a matter of minutes is a hell of an emotional rollercoaster, and she makes it work. there's just so many little things about this that are so well acted, and you can tell it must have taken an enormous amount of trust between them to pull something this physically and emotionally demanding off. they never let you forget that at the heart of todd and blair's relationship, there was always abuse.

    • @debb481
      @debb481 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Abuse was a facet of the relationship but not at its heart. Especially as they got older. At the heart of their relationship was love but love between 2 really damaged individuals, especially Todd. Both of them with serious flaws, they walked that fine line between love and hate. Emotional abuse between he and Blair continued. All physical abuse stopped in 2000 after Todd was able to keep himself from hitting Blair when she was getting hysterical. That was growth after his decking of Tea.

    This is what fans want on GH from Roger isn't it? this kind of rage? But I have seen his acting as much more than this.. his range from this rage can be just as awesome if he is gentle like with the women and children he has scenes with, he can give stinging sarcastic one liners that can scare the shit out of someone or be funny as asf... he's great!!

If you weren't in love with Todd at this point, I think it was here he made the audience feel for the "monster"...And oh how he growls out the word "whore." Just awesomeness from RH as always.

  • @natalieps2387
    @natalieps2387 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wow . This did not feel like watching two actors at all but like being a voyeur. When todd told her to get out & then pushed her out the door . Blair really should have realized that she was not going to get through to him. I get it she was in desperation but if she had left he would have calmed down. I wish she saw she was only making him madder & madder. Once that call came in from.blairs lawyer it really made things really bad.
    Yes saying he was glad the baby was dead was a very low blow but blair had to know it was out of anger. He even started to apologize than she started insulting him. When he got upstairs what did she think would happen by goading him over & over until she got a reaction.
    He was so furious & this scene really shows u that rape is about power humiliation & rage not some guy that's horny & cant take no for an answer.
    Blair screwed up & even the nicest guy would flip out on her for doing this. She made one mistake after another. Having cord take her home knowing todd was gonna show up. Then going to the lawyer to ask how to get control of her company right away. The guy leaves a message.
    Even before this her I love you 's rang hollow bc she never said it back before she thought she was gonna lose him. Also she should have come clean the night before.
    So many mistakes & this time it really is all on blair. Todd was nothing but a good freind to her before she learned of the inheritance. It's just sad that she did not learn the first time with asa that lie will blow the hell up.
    This scene was terrifying & had me & my mom on the edge of our Seats. I cant remember a cliffhanger that was this good. I believe the episode ended when he started peeling the belt off. Him seeing Marty's screaming face thank god he learned his lesson.
    After I kinda hated how smug blair was. She really should still have had a little humility. I wonder subconsciously if she goaded him to do something so they were like even or something. I know people that when they do something messed up to someone they suddenly get all upset about something to deflect what they did.
    I cant say enough about the acting the writing the set the music the direction. I said this in the previous clip but the brenda & sonny wire scene really was not all that , the way gh fans talked about it being so epic. It literally is nothing compared to this. I mean sonny found it & just stormed off as brenda tried to cling to his legs & was crying on the floor.
    This is so iconic & its unreal both actors did not win an emmy for just this scene.
    The Emmys really suck. Lol. I watched all 3 abc soaps & oltl was always my favorite. Well at least til roger left for final before he came back as many fan faves came back to close out the show.
    Oltl was the red headed step child for abc. I have no clue why. It had the best actors & the most memorable stories. the gang rape story I would put above any story ever on daytime including luke & Laura. Particularly bc roger was a literal day player. Frat boy #1 & in a year he won an emmy & became the hottest young actor . Shows would give their arm for a 23 year old dynamo that is not only sexy good looking but is a powerhouse actor & they were not even trying. It was the perfect marriage of actor & writer. After the 80s oltl was dying for a new male lead after a decade of the buchanans & max holden. See maurice was already known from amc as nico & was a big hit with the amc fans. He was brought to gh as a short term villain just like tony Geary. They were hired with full names & a storyline. What makes oltl with roger even more amazing is he was just a glorified extra with our a first name.
    Kassie I dont get how she never won an emmy & only nominated once . I wonder if she wasnt taken seriously for some reason. Some fan thought it was bc she was so pretty. I dont know if u buy that bc susan haskell was a model & very pretty & she has 2 emmys & a few nominations.
    I really wish I knew why kassie was snubbed year after year. I felt that way about fiona Hutchinson as well in her first run as gabrielle. She only got nominated when she was on GL. Maybe it is bc of looks & sexiness. Kelly monaco on gh never gets nominated & she deserved an emmy for her baby dying .
    That's why the gang rape story was so great it finally was oltls year with 3 actors winning emmys as well as writing & the best show. Usually just erika would win. Other than erika oltl had not had an actor win an Emmy since the early 80s with judith licht bob woods & robin strasser .
    Thanks so much for having todd manning 's rich & wonderful history on yt so many people can discover him all over or fans that just love to come back to appreciate his brilliance!

      It is not "all on Blair". The violence is on Todd. "Even the nicest guy" might have flipped out due to Blair's lies and manips but not to this really sick and disgusting extreme. This assault plus the threat of violence and rape was WAY over the top.
