    I want to compliment you first on your presentation. Thank you so much for not wasting our time with silly little comments that have nothing to do with your mission. You were thorough and clear and I like the cooker after seeing your video. Also, I know you are a real cook by seasoning the food before you cooked it. GREAT JOB. I'm a new subscriber.

    Love the review! Shopping for an air fryer for my daughter & my son-in-law, but, I came across your channel & am so glad. 2-in-1? Wow! She already has a pressure cooker but she had mentioned she'd been kinda thinking about an air fryer! I'll surprise them with this one. I'll send your video to her so she'll get an idea of what they might be able to do with this baby! Thanks so much! Really appreciate the ease with which you presented this. It'll even encourage my 15-year-old granddaughter to cook along side her mom, once in a while. Lol. ♡

    Girl, you made one of the best purchases, I'm telling you. I bought a Foodi Ninja, this thing is amazing. But what's really cool is you can incorporate old school style of cooking with various results. You're gonna love it & just enjoy it. Think outside the box... I use the one I Bought for my mother she thinks it should work like a microwave. Any real cook knows you have to preheat certain utilities. Just if you didn't have preheated tires in colder climates if you're going out racing. 🤔

    I absolutely agree with you! That is the way you should season a whole chicken, from the inside out before even attempt to cook it...so you get all the seasoning to penetrate the meat and get an amazing flavor. I see many video in which people season the chicken in the outside only, not a good way in my opinion, the meat wouldn’t be as tasty. Thank you! For the great review, I’m buying the Ninja Foodi, it has so many great features in just one appliance.

    Thank you so much for the great and informative video. I am looking forward to more of your videos. I have had a Ninja Foodi for three weeks now and have been too intimidated to try using it at all. So thanks for going step by step. Also, would you please show how to clean the air crisping lid? I am confused about this. Do you unscrew the inside parts to clean under the top parts where leftover juices and steam from other foods are deposited? Would appreciate some help with this issue. God bless 🙂

    • @gkendric
      @gkendric 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't deny that! You're really tuned in on the seasoning also and I think they could improve on many of the recipes if they would only give it a "sweetsavant" boot in flavor :).. Great Video but girl, you got some kind of strength the way you lifted and moved that unopened box around. this is a great cooker but light in weight it's not ... just like some of the recipes could use a little kick in it up in the spice and seasoning department. I have to be really careful, with my stomach, on some of the seasonings though because if it's too *HOT* spicy then my stomach condition will not let me forget it easily. .

    Great video! I've looked everywhere on the product site and can't find anywhere the footprint of the device to know how much space it needs to sit on a counter or anything like that. Would you be willing to measure it around or at it's widest points? TY!

    • @cnookami
      @cnookami 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walmart's website has the measurements as 14.25 x 16.75 x 13.10 Inches.

    • @gkendric
      @gkendric 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      18 inches at the widest by approx 16 inches front to back and remember that the crisper top stays attached and when it's raised up it needs about 24 inches clearance to the top. In fact information about the Ninja Foodi states that you need a lot of room for this device and under a counter is not the place for it. Hot air vents out the back also so you don't want something too close to the back of the device when cooking. I use mine on a kitchen island but as long as you have enough clearance to raise the crisping lid (which is always attached) then a countertop should surfice as long as you have some clearance to the back where the hot air is released.

    • @Dancin4Joy2
      @Dancin4Joy2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for mentioning the hot air venting issue. I asked about it on another video because I have an AF that does the same thing but forgot to consider that because it seemed like it kept the air inside. I loaded all the associated PDF's and nothing showed images all the way around. TYSM for measuring it! Now if they would just put out a side-by-side explanation of the differences between the model #'s. like they do with IP's.

    It’s funny how the host of a program will influence its followers. I’ve seen other TH-cam videos referencing this product and their followers will agree with them in either to purchase or not based on the host viewpoint. How the host has that much influence is amazing to watch. You liked it. Many have commented they’re going to buy it. This image gives a positive view of it. I pay close attention to the negative comments. I, for one, enjoy this product. Would I cook a whole chicken? Probably not. I find the space too small. I prefer to use my stove oven for that. I have quite a few ninja products and they have been good to use and I still have them. I watch your channel quite often. Thanks for your calm and thorough opinion. I just received my Foodi from Walmart yesterday, and I am looking forward to trying the roast chicken recipe this weekend. Looking forward to comparing it vs. the Bundt pan vertical-roast chicken I usually prepare. If this works out, I promised a coworker I'd gift her my old Instant Pot (since she doesn't own a pressure cooker at all).

    • @sweetsavant
      @sweetsavant  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm really impressed with how the roast chicken turned out. It was so moist on the inside and the skin got nice and crispy with the air fryer. That really shocked me. I'll do more testing with it to see if it can really replace two appliances. I'd like to hear what you cook with your FOODi. I've never tried the Bundt pan chicken roasting, I'll have to give that a shot.

    • @DOSBoxMom
      @DOSBoxMom 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sweetsavant Bundt pan vertical-roast chicken is pretty easy, although it does take longer than the FOODI roast chicken (of course). I got the instructions from a Chowhound discussion thread several years ago. Basically, you put a Bundt pan inside a round cake pan (so no chicken juices on the bottom of your oven), spray the inside of the Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray, chop up some onion and potatoes to set inside the bottom of the Bundt pan (where they'll cook in the chicken juices), then spritz the outside of the chicken with some more non-stick cooking spray and season with salt, pepper and paprika. You then impale the chicken on the center tube of the Bundt pan (just like "beer can chicken," but more stable and no alcohol required). Give it 20 minutes in a 450-degree oven, then about 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. The initial blast of heat browns the skin, and then the lower temperature afterwards cooks the meat through.

      Interesting, is that thawed chicken or mostly frozen/cleaned that you do like that?

    • @DOSBoxMom
      @DOSBoxMom 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thaw whole chickens overnight (or just put them directly in the bottom part of the fridge when I come home from the store, if I know I'll be using it the next day). Chicken parts supposedly can be cooked from frozen in the Foodi; I haven't tried that myself yet, but for oven cooking, I thaw those overnight, too.

    Hello again. I prepared my 4.5 lb chicken in my Ninja Foodi last evening. Somewhat disappointed though--- I pressure cooked my chicken (and seasoned it up beforehand, as I totally agree with you) for 18 minutes, quick released pressure, and set air crisp at 400 for 15 min. Upon taking temp of chicken on the thigh, it registered only at 145. Turned chicken upside down & cooked an additional 5-6 min. Temp then rose to 170. Breast meat was a bit dry. Will try it again and see what happens. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    So do you think this would replace the air fryer and pressure cooker? I have both 4 air fryers and 3 pressure cookers now.

      Hi Roland. I'm not ready to fully recommend this yet. I still need to try it purely as an air fryer before I can say it replaces both appliances. I'm doing more testing, I should know for sure soon. Thanks for watching

    • @rolandgadue4351
      @rolandgadue4351 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try to do this test to text the air fryer function. Instead of using the pressure cooker function to cook the chicken first. Try cooking the chicken in the air fryer mode. First breast side down after half way cooking breast side up. This will let you know if it really acts as an air fryer. 6lb chicken about an hour temp at 360

      I recommend it I have had mine for a couple of weeks and use it every day. It broils steaks beautifully. I've used it for steaks, hamburger patties, potatoes and chicken and cabbage.

    how long does it take to cook french fries ?

  • @you2449
    @you2449 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was a great run through. Thanks.
    And not to nitpick but I think I know why they don't say to Season it first.
    It usually helps to Spray the Surface of the food with some Oil, before Air Frying it.
    Which helps the surface to get crispy and golden brown.
    But they probably needed to keep the recipe as simple and foolproof as possible for the masses.
    Anyways, Thanks for sharing. Looks Tasty.

      @sweetsavant  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear what you're saying about keeping things simple. Seasoning proteins before cooking is mandatory around here. That's the only way to get the flavor to penetrate. Its sometimes I can't sacrifice.
      Thanks for watching and commenting, I'll have more Ninja FOODI demos posted soon.

      OK, so I tried it with a whole frozen chicken, and it came out great. The package gave the guidelines as to how long to cook it in the pressure cooker -- it was a certain number of minutes per pound, and it came out great!

      Hi Gabby. So far I'm really impressed with the Ninja FOODi but I'll need to work with it more before I can fully endorse it. It seems to pressure cook and air fry well, I was concerned that a combo unit wouldn't do either thing well. Thanks so much for watching!

    • @GabbysCraftyWitchLife
      @GabbysCraftyWitchLife 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that,I think the only probably I'd have with it is the size,but if you set my air fryer & pressure cooker beside each other it probably would be about the same size lol & of coarse the price is a bit more than I gave for both together (I looked the price up). And you are very welcome..

    Hello Sweetsavant. I finally caved in & purchased my Ninja Foodi awaiting its arrival tomorrow. Can't wait to try out the chicken dinner you prepared. Got to run out to buy my chicken. Question: Will it hold a 4.5 - 5 lb chicken? Thanks for your great videos & please make more.

    • @sweetsavant
      @sweetsavant  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. Yes, the Foodi will hold a 4.5 - 5 lb chicken. I was very happy with the way the Foodi handled roasting the chicken. The chicken breast was very juicy and the skin was nice and crispy, I was impressed. Thanks for watching!

    • @sweetsavant

      Hi Allison! I really don't see the point of cooking without seasoning first, that's the only way to get good flavor. Thanks so much for watching!
