Stupid question but when it’s working, does the tube feel a bit warm if you touch it? I’m asking because mine feel actually colder then the room temperature if I touch it, even if my airsense 10 is set to manual, 27ºC (80ºF) and humidity to 5 (my room is at 21ºC (70ºF)
Just worry my tube or the CPap is not working well

I keep my house at 60 at night. Waters condenses in my tubing if my humidifier is higher than 4 out of 6. Just bought the heated hose

Now for the bad news... for me with S9 Slimline tubing... the diameter is 15mm (vs 22mm for unheated hose.) This resulted in air rushing into the mask much faster than the larger tubing. It was now a windburn problem. Ultimately, I could not tolerate it. Wishing the S9 had a 22mm heated hose.

There should be a setting on your device where you choose which hose size you are using and the device compensates for it.

Nicely done, sir and thanks for the video.
I'm a new CPAP wearer and I wondered if there was anything to the heated vs. regular tubing. Thanks to your video I'm now armed with the information I need to make that decision.
I have a Philips Dreamstation with the standard hose and an AirFit P10 headgear. I usually keep the house at 68 at night and the humidifier at 3. The tubing, I was told, is best not to let droop (like a p-trap in a sink) so I tuck the slack behind my pillow. No condensation so far.
Thanks again for the info...it's GREAT for us newbies.

it seems like you'd only need heated tubing if your bedroom is crazy cold.

Crazy cold, or hot and dry! Bear in mind though, condensation build-up can happen with any temperature differential. If the humidified air coming from the machine is even just a few degrees higher than the air in your room, there's going to be water build-up. Whether or not that build-up is significant enough to annoy you is a personal matter. Thanks for the comment!

Not true at all. I keep my room between 72-76 at night and get condensation all the time. But I just switched my mask and no more condensation. But I just ordered a heated tubing anyways. Oh, and if you move your machine too quickly, even just a hair, it will have condensation and gurgle.

Is the tubing water resistant? Being that it has an electrical connection at the end of the tube

There are plenty of TH-camrs out there who deliver information about sleep therapy without a comedic spin. My goal is to make it fun and light-hearted.
