    Looking things up about this condition after my near death experience last night. I had sleep apnea as a baby in the NICU and a toddler but got over it, then just last night I rolled on my back then all of a sudden couldn’t breath. Im glad I’m well enough to wake myself up and be like “breath bitch” but I’ve never had that happen before. Again except except when I was a baby and mom or a nurse had to shake me awake or something so I could breath.

    I'm fond of Phillips Dreamwear nasal cushion mask . My pressure is low at 6 so it's quiet for me and there is no feeling of having my nose being blown off my face and I'm down to 0.3 events per ho ur (on average)or less rather than 40 events per hour. There are nights that I'm showing zero events per hour so I think I've got a good mask.

    My husband just had a sleep study and his AHI was 63.4 per hour and oxygen sat was 72%. They rushed him a cpap and it just came in today. It’s the quietest he’s been sleeping since about 2005. He never snored before that and it was so bad that I couldn’t sleep until I got used to hearing it. At no point did anyone ever tell us that that type of snoring could possibly mean sleep apnea. I really found your video very informative. He will be on this cpap every single night from this point forward. Thanks!

    I don't get it I sleep elevated, wedge and 7 pillows plus lost 85lbs still am exhausted every day and sleep horrible. I had much worse night events before elevated my head and lost weight. Recently decided to take at home test and my pAHI 3% was 3.8, pRDI was 10.6, ODI 4% 1.1, pAHIc 3% .5 and pAHI 4% 1 Not sure I believe the results but we shall see I'm absolutely beat bed ridden from fatigue if I even try strenuous activities it ruins me or sleeping pills ect anything that makes me more tired I have worse episodes at night. I did not do these before my test and slept with my wedge and pillows. Maybe I should not have? Test also showed heart rate going up to 100 and sometimes over up to 12 times. Every so often like one day ever few months I'll wake up feeling decent like I slept then back to feeling absolutely wiped out and get headaches and palpitations when I sleep bad. On top of it I have celiac and crohns and have had a flare up since months after sleep disturbances started in 2017

    This may be a dumb question. Where does a person get a copy of a compliant report?

    • @asciiavatar
      @asciiavatar 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally, the sleep data is sent to your doctor. However, most current models of CPAP/APAP have a slot for an SD card. If you purchase a card and install it, it will record all the same sleep data that is transmitted to your doctor. You can then remove the card and using a program like OSCAR, you can can view all the details reports on your home PC. The data would include information like your compliance (ie. daily usage)

    Hey a friend of mine is being asked to use a Cpap machine to register sleep on the machine while they are away (owner does not want to expose Cpap machine to cigar smoke.) however they do not have sleep apnea, are there any dangers to this? from what they tell me its set really high for a Cpap, so its causing a lot of distress. Are there ways to tell the doctor that the machine is temporarily out of use due to risk of damage? Can the sleep regulation compliance be regulated or explained away?

    this is not at all a good explanation on sleep apnea, waking up and up is not sleep apnea. Yes it’s a symptom but if u wanted to make expiation video or symptoms of sleep apnea you would do proper research. As a person who is diagnosed this is very unfortunate to see that’s ur giving misleading information. Ur basically telling ppl if u wake up continuously u have sleep apnea which is NOT true

    • @giolpy
      @giolpy ปีที่แล้ว

      You interpreted this wrong, as i did too the first time I watched this video. He meant that OUR BRAIN keeps ""waking up"", meaning that it never rests, which is true. Sleep apnea, as far as i have read, consists on multiple-times no-breathing for a short period of time during the night. We come from nature, so we have the instinct of not dying, so your body will try everything to keep you alive, and this consists in Resetting everything: Waking up completely the body (but not you - at least, for most people, but it actually happens that you wake up in the middle of the night) and trying to get a position where you can actually breathe. Hope my interpretation is clear

      Hey, most of the time your sleep apnea won't cause you to remember waking up 50 or so times an hour because you're only awake for a couple seconds while your brain resets your breathing

    Severity aside, I’m on day 9 of using a CPAP machine and I’m wondering at what point my sleep may improve because right now I’m getting less sleep than before I started using the damn thing!
