I like the care you put into this. One thing. Around here we usually put the sheathing face grain perpendicular to the rafters. An 1/8" ( 16 penny) crack is good at the plywood edges to prevent buckling when it expands.
This is a great video and demo! My question--is there any kind of spray on preservative that could be applied to the wooden boards before applying shingles to prevent or to greatly slow down "rotting" or similar degradation? I have seen the treated wooden fences last longer with coatings but then the boards are plywood!
I was going to write this who thing about chalking your lines level before you do a plunge cut with your circ saw. But then I just came to the conclusion you should have just hired the roofer.
Nah, easier to burn $20's then to call a roofing scammer. This was a repair that will be dealt with in full when it's re-roofed at some point in 5 to 7 years.
Thank you my friend I’m a 21 year old trying to Patch some rot on my garage roof, appreciate you!!!
Is it OK to leave such a gap between a new plywood piece and the old one and proceed to the tar paper? I don't think so.

Great video man! I bet that thing is still holding up just fine. Don't listen to the haters who probably got ripped off by a roofer
Or they are roofers and angry someone is telling folks how to not get scammed.
Good stuff, perfect for rental property and diy repair in between replacement
You are so brave and 💪
thanks

Keep it from getting wet. It will last a long time.

Not good!
Not a quality craftsman. Hire a roofer.
