      The first time I 'took up' for a gay person, they automatically assumed I was gay and had refused to accept it. I feel like I'm being lumped in the group, so why not be tagged on at the end. I'm straight as the ace of spades as people used to say, but we are all human beings and I love to think someday it won't matter; that people are just people.

      @driamhane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@gjopp7251 um, but inclusivity is defined as giving people equal opportunies in representation and rights and so many more important parts of our lives.
      Cishet allo mono people who belong to the majority of the straight demographic cannot be classified as non-cishet allo mono people based on how supportive they are of human rights.
      Thus including them in the category doesn't make much sense... however this doesn't mean that they aren't allowed to live with and support the community to the fullest.
      A straight person can accompany their bi spouse to a parade
      A cis person can accompany their trans spouse to the community.
      A CHAMP relative can support their relatives
      Even if you dont have connections, you are welcome to support LGBT people. Just maybe not be classified as one. If you aren't related in any way to an LGBT person, it's better to not go into LGBT only spaces. Because you literally have the rest of the world to be safe in.
      Not disclusion. Just giving LGBTQ ppl the priority they have been denied.

    I was wondering... I was thinking for the bisexual, it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual because many bisexuals have a preference or a leaning attraction, or the majority of their attractions are to the opposite/same sex. Bisexuality can also be fluid and change over time. For myself, for example, I find that generally I have a leaning towards same sex attractions, physically and emotionally, but it's also fluid and I find myself more interested in the opposite sex some days than others. I think you should have showed it on a spectrum like you did intersex. Other than that, fantastic video! How this would have made my life easier to see in school...

    • @bamboo-3125
      @bamboo-3125 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Your sexual orientation could be fluid. I get this a lot too, actually. I'm mostly attracted to people of the same sex but there are days that I feel like I like the opposite sex way more than the same. I think it still counts as bisexual because you still like males and females it just fluctuates.

    • @keck321
      @keck321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      That's what Bi is... You don't need a spectrum for that, just love who you want.

    • @checkmate2489
      @checkmate2489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      keck321 but many people have a leaning towards one gender. Some people may have more attractions to the same gender more than the opposite, but they identify as bisexual just like someone who has more attractions to the opposite gender more than the same. That means it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual. It can also be fluid, another reason it should be a spectrum.

    • @checkmate2489
      @checkmate2489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bàmboo - yeah, I identify as bisexual pretty much because it's the easiest for people to understand, but I also could go by/connect with/ identify with others, like queer, fluid, pansexual, etc. Basically, I think anyone who is attracted to same and opposite gender/s can identify as bisexual if they want to. I don’t like to think of it as a limiting term that is 50/50, only includes binary genders, only attraction to 2 genders, etc. :)

    • @keck321
      @keck321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wolf Heart you just made my point... bi is exactly that... you like both sexes... maybe not equally, which is rare as fuck. We don’t need 50 definitions to say that you like both. Why do we need all these definitions to say “I like guys and girls?”

  • @salodi8640
    @salodi8640 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that the LGBTQ+ community is something that has a lot of importance, because it means that there is more way for people to think and express themselves out of the normal or “traditional” way that the society has put over the years, which in a future can lead to a society full of freedom and self-security. I'm a 100% supportive about educating people about these topics, because, in old traditions. people tend to not talk a thing about these, leaving people open to ideas against these community, leading to discrimination when it has no sense at all and this could be changed by teaching people about these topic; I proposse that at some point, teachers should show these kind of videos to their students to show them that there is more ways than what they are normally teached, obviously without forcing them into something, all of this so we can look up to a day where this is not seen as a minority or a special case that sometimes happens, instead it is seen as any other case , without having to put extra thinking about it.

    I still don't understand how someone decides what their "gender identity" is, given the only experiences they've had are their own. However since I am heterosexual, I'm "excluded" from the community. It's contradictory - discriminatory based on MY sexual and gender orientation. Anna K and Brandy Peay, you're both wrong. Allies are people who actively advocate for lgbt rights that don't indentify as lgbt. They should be included because they're doing more than you two together to help gain rights because homophobes only listen to straight people arguments. Anyway that's why we banned sympathisers from the community: they were people who did nothing to help and only agreed with the lgbt community.

I couldn't give two shits about what your ancient book says, because the very same book you use to justify the slaughter of gay people, justifies sexism. And don't forget, nit everyone is Christian. So you using your beliefs to pressure them in to repressing their feelings so much they kill themselves, that seems like the Christian agenda now. And don't even @ me with your "Oh, you're discriminating against me for my religion!" I'm Christian too. The bible is so full of contradictions, it might as well be a half-assed fanfiction.

      No, this doesn’t need to be taught in school. There’s never been a specific class for discussing sexual or romantic attraction, and the problem with that would be bias with teachers probably teaching more in favor of their own and making it something that should be on the forefront of children’s minds. No kind of attraction is taught; it’s something you discover within your own life. Yes, it’s more common for heterosexual and cisgendered people to exist, but it’s not taught. If it were, then people who don’t fall under that category wouldn’t exist. Wonder how long it’ll take to get this reply taken down...

      ok fuck off then neopronoun users are superior. even if you don't like them you have to respect them and use them when referring to people who do use them.

    This is a great video, good job there. Because it is hard to include the first letter of every sexuality/gender identity, let's use SAGA as a synonym.
    S exuality
    A nd
    G ender
    A cceptance
    Plus it sounds cool.

    im still questioning my sexuality although i am 10. Is something wrong with that? I've had so many girl crushes. Trust me im really new to this- my life is gonna change lmAo. Edit : should i come out because honestly im afraid of what would happen. I am not trying to say it's easy to make a choice. I do not crossdress, i've liked boys, i like some girls, but what would i be if i joined the community? Oh god this makes me stressed.

      And also, you're probably Bisexual/Biromantic, Pansexual/Panromantic, or a mix (e.g pansexual/biromantic)

    1. Allies aren’t part of the community. A is for abrosexual, abroromantic, asexual, aromantic, and agender.
    2. Bigender just means someone who experiences 2 genders. Not necessarily male and female.
    3. Your pronouns don’t necessarily have to match your gender identity. Some boys use gender neutral or feminine pronouns, some girls use neutral or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use feminine and/or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use both they and he or she.
    There are way more terms, but I’ll give some grace there because it’s impossible to fit them all on a single paper.
    You’re welcome for correcting your mistakes.
    (Sorry if I misheard/misunderstood some of your words.)

      The concepts that they teach are still the concept you hold as a heterosexual male!
      As you said, "heterosexual" which in part of "sexuality" or "sexual orientation" or "sexual preference" and "male" which in part of "sex" which is biological. LGBT is just a community or organization. But these concepts are for everybody.
