When I was a kid I was a little confused when gay couples were shown in cartoons but thanks to The Owl House specifically Lumity I understand it a lot better now 🏳🌈❤
Luz Noceda and Amity Blight cannot be beaten. That fact that Dana was able to get this on a Disney show is impressive enough, but those two are just so perfect for eachother in every way.
When I was younger, anything "gay" was usually just played up for laughs. It's so great to see sincere relationships between people that are played just as normal as straight couples with just as much love. That's a change from my younger days I'm glad has grown and thrived
And before the "gay character for laughs," there was "even saying someone is gay could end their life." On WKRP, in 1978, one character is incorrectly called gay and he threatens to jump off a building. It was basically saying "being gay is this horrible thing" (which, obviously, it isn't). It's amazing seeing how much LGBTQIA+ representation has progressed. Is there further to go? Sure, but sometimes it's good to take a moment to appreciate the progress that's already been made.

@@ThatOneIdiot-wu9hx but Catra wasn’t innocent by any means. She acted like such a control freak towards Adora. And Catra was still quite horrible towards Adora growing up. And while Amity’s environment wasn’t any better (the second to last episode of Season 2 reveals just how evil her mother is), she was pretty tame compared to Catra. That said, her relationship with Luz was healthier from the beginning.
Lumity was such a blessing to receive from the incredible cartoon series that is *The Owl House* It really just works significantly better than the majority of ships
The Velma one was literally a series I wish Velma was 😭 My fav LGBTQ+ ships have to be Craig X Tweek, Ruby X Sapphire, and Luz X Amity! They really inspired me to add more LGBTQ+ relationships in my series with only having 2 back then
Being teenager when I was unsure about my identity and sexuality, Steven Universe helped me to see that you can love anybody and there is nothing wrong with that, thank you SU☺
I def can’t wait too see cait and vi relationship grow in season 2 of arcane and I was extremely glad too see that the creators want to grow there relationship central to the plot of Arcane itself
as much as I love so many of these, Harley and Ivy has to always be my favorite. I was always a massive fan of comics and loved Poison Ivy when I was younger, and I remember my first full encounter (not filtered by homophobic parents and teachers) with the queer community was reading a DC comic which featured the two's romance. It made me realize a lot of things about myself, and just seeing it all in such an amazing and hilarious show makes it all the better.
What I love about their relationship is how they first started together. Sammy is a girl with a bright attitude and making everyone smile and Yasmina was shy but she is strong. I love how they grew close together as complete opposites from friends to lovers. Even in the sequel series as adults, they’re always there for each other
i love how high korrasami is here because with all the troubles they went on behind the scenes they're doubted still today, but they walked so others could run 😭😭
Some "fans" are STILL salty because korrasami happens instead makorra. Also that scene is iconic and made it possible for more openly LGBTQ characters in other animated shows.

Sad that Mariner and Jennifer from Star Trek: Lower Decks weren't included. It's interesting because Mariner doesn't want everyone to know at first, but after a time her friends figure things out and are thrilled for her. There's even an episode where Jennifer takes Mariner to one of her friend's gatherings and Mariner is bored stiff until the two of them decide to stun the party. Jennifer reveals that she loves Mariner because she's so unpredictable. It's a cute love story.
While it was only shown for a very short time Bunny and Kitty from The Courage the Cowardly Dog episode The Mask was the first show to introduce mu to these kind of couples also I can’t be the only one who was really angry when Netflix decided to cancel the third season of Dead End Paranormal Park especially with the cliffhanger season 2 ended on

I don't know how anyone can pick just one. They all brought their own identity and made each couple pairing that much special. I just recently watched the Owl House and the relationship between Amity and Lux (Lumity) was perfectly carried out through the first 2 seasons. I would have to say Dana Terrace worked her magic and gave us the most special pairing. Then again, I am a DC Fan (Harlivy go).

While I know the show isn’t well known yet, I feel like they should’ve put Ham Tobin and Crispin Cienfuegos from “The Great North” into the list. The show handles LGBTQIA+ representation very well by portraying it as something natural and everyone in the show is accepting of it.
First time I saw any LGBTQ+ couple on TV was Gravity Falls, I loved the comedy with the characters of Blubs and Durland. Really was an eye opener because when I first watched the show I never thought any show would have any LGBTQ characters🥹

Sad that Mariner and Jennifer from Star Trek: Lower Decks weren't included. It's interesting because Mariner doesn't want everyone to know at first, but after a time her friends figure things out and are thrilled for her. There's even an episode where Jennifer takes Mariner to one of her friend's gatherings and Mariner is bored stiff until the two of them decide to stun the party. Jennifer reveals that she loves Mariner because she's so unpredictable. It's a cute love story.
Wish that show was on air for those who don’t have Paramount Plus.

While it was only shown for a very short time Bunny and Kitty from The Courage the Cowardly Dog episode The Mask was the first show to introduce mu to these kind of couples also I can’t be the only one who was really angry when Netflix decided to cancel the third season of Dead End Paranormal Park especially with the cliffhanger season 2 ended on

Great list! Just a heads up, the showrunner of She-ra has since come out as non-binary, and uses he/him pronouns and his name is now Nate, though he also goes as N.D. (Or Indy as a nickname) Stevenson! I don’t know if it’s possible to update this in the video, but it might be worth trying to if you can to avoid deadnaming and misgendering him!

I don't know how anyone can pick just one. They all brought their own identity and made each couple pairing that much special. I just recently watched the Owl House and the relationship between Amity and Lux (Lumity) was perfectly carried out through the first 2 seasons. I would have to say Dana Terrace worked her magic and gave us the most special pairing.

While I know the show isn’t well known yet, I feel like they should’ve put Ham Tobin and Crispin Cienfuegos from “The Great North” into the list. The show handles LGBTQIA+ representation very well by portraying it as something natural and everyone in the show is accepting of it.
