Huawei to Ditch Windows? HarmonyOS Coming to PCs!

- It appears that Huawei is prepared to replace Windows with the HarmonyOS operating system on its upcoming PCs. According to a corporate representative, the laptops that are currently in stock might be the final ones that use an external operating system.
On September 20, Yu Chengdong, the chairman of Huawei Consumer Business, watched a live webcast. He stated in the interview that HarmonyOS software, rather than Windows, will come pre-installed on the upcoming Huawei PCs.
According to the Chairman, Huawei must stop supporting Windows in light of the US ban. The company has been suffering for cutting-edge technologies, chipmaking tools, and even improved software ever since it was placed on a U.S. blacklist in 2019.
HarmonyOS PC is expected to launch this year. Ahead of that, glimpses of the new software peaked through the official website. A new input suggests that HarmonyOS PC allegedly surfaced on the Huawei Developer page, revealing its UI design.

Designing Harmony OS for PC use is the logical outcome in the aftermath of the sanctions levied against Huawei by the US. This is not likely to be seen in PCs sold in the west, but for sure the 1.4 billion domestic market presents the singular best strategic move they could make.
not only that anyone in the whole world wary of the us spying, which is for sure if using windows, will ditch the windows pc and use the harmony version. on top of that, the harmony pc is way cheaper and more stable because the underlaying firmware is UNIX based. very likely, Russia, Iran and north Korea will be immediate customers followed by most of the middle, Eurasian countries and some parts of Africa and SEA. for simple office use, no brainer, for gaming, may need to wait a bit longer or maybe not because all mobile games already can run on all versions of harmony.
Spoiler alert...many countries have banned huarwe products. Sorry most west countries don't have operating systems that read right to left or han. You must have stolen the joke copy. 😮
Looking forward to buying a Huawei Laptop with Harmony OS. Make sure you have compatibility with old formats ie have your own Office suite and PDF readers etc that will read all my Microsoft and Adobe products. etc
I hope equipment prices reflect production costs and also take into account the economic realities of the global south. May there be a lot more coming. ❤ Greetings from Brazil.

Which one of the 7654 versions of Linux could they use? None of them can be understood by non Linux programmers. Want to install a program? Just read the 7654 different instruction on how to do it, but none will work, so you start searching the forums for help, there you find another 5438 different bits of advice. After 8 months if intense effort, you give up and re install Windows and click "install" for the software you wanted to use. That's been my experience for trying to get a non mainstream bit of software to work on linux. The main linux software works well, Browsing, Office, Photo edit, video edit etc, but that is it. If thats all you need, then fine, linux is good, but still requires a lot of research to keep it running. The biggest issue is that damn command line business, with the complex structure and endless weird commands and parameters that you must know. It more than just unfriendly, its downright hostile. Give me GUI for everything then the OS becomes a good tool, rather than the end in itself. I don't want to know about the OS, it should be transparent and as unobtrusive as possible, letting me get on with what I want to do. Linux is only for linux programmers.
