I confuse about HarmonyOS Next which said not Linux or Unix . continue search based on OpenHarmony which is linux . if HarmonyOS Next not based on Linux then it could only be another variants of unix ( msdos or mac another variants of unix) Linux free software but Unix is proprietary . I doubt huawei has the ability to create a new OS which will require alot people and time .do you lnow many lines of codes to write a compiler . we will know when PC version released, we will know by the Filesystem it support . , I hope not using KIRIN.

Designing Harmony OS for PC use is the logical outcome in the aftermath of the sanctions levied against Huawei by the US. This is not likely to be seen in PCs sold in the west, but for sure the 1.4 billion domestic market presents the singular best strategic move they could make.

Huawei was very happy doing business with western countries until they decided to sanction Huawei, to avoid another Future sanction they decided to build their own software and ecosystem.

Another approach could be Linux 🤷‍♂️
