    Hey there. Awesome awesome videos for someone like me. One question, can an Eagle A3S4 be integrated into this setup? I plan to use it my A10. I plan to use at least 11 channels and I just can’t see in my head where the sbus connection happens to the converter. Matek to the gyro but from the gyro to the converter is my confusion. Maybe it’s not possible? If you get a second to let me know , that would be very helpful!! Thanks.

    Actually as do a bit of searching, I’m prolly better off using something like a BetaFPV SuperP 14 channel. I just have to figure out how to access sbus. Hopefully I follow the same steps in your gyro video. Thanks.

    Nice John great video $40.00 for a 16 channel , dual diversity antenna ,with telemetry with a programable sbus decoder
    WIN WIN in my opinion . What voltage does the s-bus decoder go to looks solid

      Voltage isn't shown in the specs, so I'd keep it at 5v. It'll be nice when we see vbat on every ELRS (hopefully).

  • @pilotmattk

    ELRS is definitely coming along for fixed wing on the Output/Control (PWM, SBUS). Is there any work happening on the telemetry / INPUT side of things? CRSF is a bit limiting as it lacks protocol definitions for per-cell pack voltage (Frsky ADV voltage), Barometric Pressure (alt/vario), engine, fuel, among others...
    How about S.Port, ibus to CRSF flexibility on the telemetry side? I'm somewhat stuck on D16, S.Port, SBUS until ELRS telemetry matures.

    That is really nice indeed! Thak you so much for the video! But... the opportunity to use more than the standard number of servo's kindles the desire to use it for much larger planes... and therefor more than 5 volts... What would be the best way to wire that up as the reciever cannot take more than 5 volts as far as I know.... Do happen to you have any advise or a working solution ?

    • @RCVideoReviews

      Simply put a mico bec in front of the Rx. I've done that plenty of times. For example: www.racedayquads.com/products/matek-micro-bec-6-30v-input-to-5v-12v-adjustable-3pcs

    Wow seems so easy to get 16 channels! Lot to learn but looking forward to using this setup in my 737 which needs 14 channels. I notice you don't use model ID - can you use this so you don't get mixed up with multiple models or is something taking care of this?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not use model ID. The only feature I use is Receiver # to load different ELRS profiles depending on the plane. I don't bother with it because I'm the only one who touches my radio and I always ensure I've got the right model loaded before powering on. Just part of my process so don't need the feature.
      I have a 16channel receiver now. Working on the prototype.

  • @hansclaes5052
    @hansclaes5052 ปีที่แล้ว

    I ordered the 16 channel board, but I have radiomaster elrs receivers. So... signal wire from sbus solder on tx pad receiver, right? (And leave rx pad free?)
    I think it is a brilliant solution for fixed wings but I still have so much to learn. Thanks John!

    What is the advantage of this protocol compared to other readily available protocols?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      • As an opensource it receives regular and recurring enhancements and improvements.
      • It uses LORA (as do a handful of others) yielding insane long range capabilities. If that's not your bag, it also means while flying LOS you'll have a dead reliable connection.
      • As the software is divorced from hardware, you are not married to any particular hardware vendor meaning as the consumer you benefit from competitive downward price pressure.
      • They've introduce packet rates that literally smoke check the competition. Good for pilots with extreme speed requirements.
      • Binding Phrases = Pure win.
      • Now supports CRSF, SBUS, and PWM. Most others support 1 or 2, few support 3.
      • The developers are active hobbyists so they have a meaningful approach to development that isn't tied to corporate objectives.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm--that's a tough one. When you say you have PWM on all channels, does that indicate you put a servo on the ESC channel, moved your throttle stick and observed the servo move? I assume ESC is powered and connected to a motor? Once you see PWM output on a pin, that's it--it's up to the ESC at that point.

    So, how would telemetry work with SBUS output? Would they emulate SmartPort? If so, could they just make it an FPort situation?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the moment I don’t think they intend on adding fport. Honestly, it was a stretch to get sbus. You do get rx telemetry: rssi, rqly, rfmod, that kind of thing. But nothing from downstream devices at the moment.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use a Matek P24-R6 PWM, take vbat from it, and set SBUS out on Ch2 to feed to the 16ch decoder. Seems convoluted, but it would give you 16ch PWM with vbat.

    • @cwwisk
      @cwwisk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCVideoReviews haha I guess. I have not figured out how to run 16 pwm output channels with a flight controller anyway. I just use 2 X8R/S8R receivers in tandem with a SmartPort cell voltage meter.
