  • I keep hearing people yapping about how slow the BMW F800gs is, the lack of power and how you need a ton of HPs to have fun, how is the bike's fault if they can't keep up with their friends on more powerful bike.
    Time to set the record straight about what the f800gs is actually capable of.
    Sorry for the gopro session location, testing new angles...
    I hope you guys enjoy and thanks for watching.

    Does your bike have enough power to have fun or you wish you had a bigger engine?

      I've had several bikes from 500cc to 1200cc. I've loved them all and my f800gs has enough power to keep me smiling.

    More then enough for me. What I've found to be true more often then not is that slow riders always need the latest and greatest with the most power. Better riders can go fast on nearly anything.

    Hi Albe my F800GS got more than enough power for the twisties. My wife got the new G310GS and you are right my 800 feels like a rocket after riding the 310. I'm more than happy with the power of my F800GS.

    Ciao bambino !!!
    I sold my Vstrom 1000 and start riding a F800GS.
    Not great power, but enough to get fun.
    The bike is not the best in anything. But it is very good at every road. Very versatile.
    Always waiting for a new video.
    Greetings from Argentina. Norberto.

    Y'know Albe, first time I tried my current F800GSA, coming from the 1200, and before that, countless crotch-rockets, I found it a tad "underwhelming". Nowadays instead, having adjust to the bike, I find that it has the proper power for what I need to do: touring, commuting, offroad, etc.
    It really is a matter of "perspective", in the end. Perspective, and "goals", or rather, knowing beforehand what you need the bike for.

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pierre ADV that's exactly it, people usually overestimate what they actually need, I'm guilty of it myself

    Being my first bike I find the f800gs, in the North Georgia mountains, has just about all the power I need. But I have found myself wanting a bit more. To remedy this I have changed the rear sprocket from a 42 to a 41, and I will receive my new front sprocket this week changing from a 16 to a 15. This should take the bike from a 2.63 final drive to a 2.73. I also ordered a 17 for the front for long travel to get the buzziness down at 80mph. Should end up at a 2.41 for highway use. I will be installing a set of Hyperpro progressive fork springs soon to hopefully reduce the notorious nose dive. I am somewhat of an adrenaline junky and have no real experience with other bikes but this thing gives me a chubby both on road and off!

    Last week I took my f800gs to shenandoah national park in VA. Lots of twisties, LOTS of fun. Everybody's got an opinion. As far as a “do it all” bike the f800gs can go anywhere and do anything, and it's a ton of fun doing it.

    Albe, do not listen to those who blame F800GS for lack of power - your bike is great and more than powerful enough to enjoy both road and offroad. If you had 200 hp what would you do with them on such a twisty way as you were on this video? And I am sure you did not use whole bike's power. I think having of extra power on a bike is one of the best ways to shorten one's life. The only time when you really need smth like 1200 GS could be a very long way travel with long straight runs, so you could keep abt 3-4k rpm, but not a high revs. Other then that what do you need much more power for? To be provoked by your bike for dangerous driving style for no reason? So, enjoy your bike and let everyone envy you! P.S. Really like your helmet!

    I have an GS800F Its 5 yrs old.Is it the Saturn 5 rocket?
    It doesn't have to be. 86 million horsepower has no control.This is the most responsive,best handling motorcycle I've ever had.
    And I've had my share.I call it an input/output machine.
    It responds EXACTLY to your input.There is no margin.If your mother rides it, it operates as if your mother is riding it.If the world champion rides it ,it's a completely different machine.In terms of power it's top end is more than enough.This motorrad is pure farfifinnugen.

    There is always "more". If there wasn´t then people wouldn´t slap turbos on their Hayabusa. Most of us just desperately need a reality check. Anyone who says that 100hp isn´t enough on a bike is clearly insane. Like, we´re talking supercar levels of acceleration at this point, even my 42hp single cylinder bike was quicker off the line than 95% of all cars on the road.
    Anything over 100hp and you can´t even stretch its legs without being at risk of losing your license or going to jail.
    It´s more about the rider anyway and not the bike. I can bully superbikes with my 300cc scooter in the tight twisties. Sure, they eat me on the straights though.

    is it stable at high speeds like 120-140 KM/H ? i want to get it and i don't do any offroad riding

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is if you have road tires like the pirelli scorpion, if you use offroad tires like the continental Tkc80 it wobble a little.

      Nice question but except from tyrea i want also to ask you, how is the motorbike responding on 120-140kms on highway engine wise? Is it going easily or is it high rpm and feels like if you continue it will break?

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At 130km/h you are about 5500RPM, it's a good cruising speed, it doesn't feel like it's going to explode anytime. 😀👍
