Comment. If that guy feels so nervous then he's in the wrong job! Especially when he walks up to the recording device.
It made me realise that we could all say the same thing. "I don't want you recording me because I'm a member of the human race and they get targeted!" Etc.
It always seems to me that you start out as a photographer and end up as a reluctant auditor, having to defend your position and your rights. It always results in a brilliant and highly watchable piece of auditing art.
I wonder what would happen if someone just stood there and took notes with a notepad and pen?

I work in a library. In 1981 in Shropshire an 89 year old librarian sadly died in unexplained circumstances shortly after sending a letter to recover not insignificant overdue fines. Rumour has it that the books were about photography and furthermore that an overexposed polaroid photograph was found discarded near to the location that the librarian met her fate. Due to a lack of forensic evidence nobody was ever charged with her death, and the coroner had no alternative but to provide a verdict of “death by natural causes”. Since then, as well as no talking and no wanking in the toilets, libraries have been left with little choice but to outlaw the use of cameras when using the service to keep librarians safe. It’s not ideal but if it prevents just one more tragic librarian death then frankly our freedoms are a small price to pay

You mostly end up having a nice conversation with people, even getting some laughs. I really enjoy watching that.

2:55 "I'm being perfectly polite" yet a few seconds later he says "I'm asking direct questions" which is not being polite at all.

True, with the switching on of the camera, it seemed to go up a gear and become more official, almost like the symbolic, "gloves had come off."
Then he wandered off , and came back ( probably advised by someone to chill out) ,a lot calmer.

In layman’s terms. Highways England traffic officers, under an act of parliament, have the power to stop and direct traffic on motorways and certain trunk roads, also to remove abandoned or damaged vehicles from hard shoulders and carriageways. According to the Highway Code you should conform to their indications.
They sit at certain designated park up points while waiting for radio calls to attend incidents Like RTCs, pedestrians or animals on the motorway, to retrieve debris from live lanes on motorways or perform rolling road blocks when vehicles have broken down in live lanes and the occupants are stranded in the central reservation.

The Highways England vehicles are there to deal with accidents. They are stationed at particular spots so that response times to the accident hotspots are minimised. Throughout the day, the most likely spots for accidents to occur shift around as traffic flows have a daily rhythm. The Highways England vans change their wait locations accordingly. Being in the best wait locations means, on average, they get to accidents more quickly reducing the amount of time people have to wait in traffic. And while they are often sat around waiting, they have a tough job. Their priority is making the scene safe for drivers behind, but after that’s been done they often carry out first aid procedures and help make injured people comfortable while they wait for paramedics. They see some gruesome things.

Ironic that he gives you his life story, straight after telling you he's concerned about their privacy/safety.
