I've been told that NHS spending has gone UP during Covid. Gone UP, despite millions of missed appointments, cancelled operations and from dumping the frail elderly back into care homes. The reason spending has gone up: TESTING CENTRES. Can anyone explain how financially crippling the NHS and creating an unsolvable patient backlog constitutes 'saving' the organisation?
Most testing sites are run by private companies financed by the government (30 BILLION and counting so far). Hospitals do their own tests but the drive in centres last year were mostly private. Some say it would have been considerably cheaper and far more effective if the NHS had done it all themselves.

I, like you, thought testing centres had been outsourced (on taxpayer dime) to these private rackets. But somehow it's still contributed to an increase in spending. Maybe other contributing factors are: PPE, testing, sick pay for absent NHS staff, testing kits etc. I still don't see how all that outweighs all the cancelled treatment and ops, though.

Front counters, There was a demand for them and the staff were all sacked or made into PCSo's and they have plenty of staff to send 8 out to many photographers!

They deserve more than a video that gets less views than the bad one's and that's the best way i can think of. Have a big YO at the top with a statement of we got a pass from Auditing Britain and are appreciated by the public for their professional mannered officers. Give a star rating for upkeep of premises and a recommendation of improvements. Then a date also. Their improvement would be to sign the private area and sign that they have no front desk attendent with communication details if assistance is required.

It wasn't just testing centres, they're just a fraction of test and trace, which as a whole is due to cost the taxpayer £37 billion over 2 years.
