Actually, keep the *Power Management Mode* set to *Optimal* It performs the same way as *Prefer Maximum Performance* mode only in _Maximum Performance_ constant;y uses unneeded power regardless if you are gaming or not so you're really just wasting power at this point where *Optimal* preforms the same way but only uses Power when/where it is needed the most use, and when not in-game it won't waste power and constantly keep your card running at maximum performance thus saving the longevity of your card. Exactly. Prefer Max performance keeps your card running at maximum output all the time which isn’t needed. Optimal enables the card to run at max when needed like playing games and slows down when browsing. If you enable the performance overlay you will see the card boost to max during gaming and stay there then after you close the game you will see the card go to low power. Saves money and card life.

@Khaay o i Tried that on my gtx 1060 and rtx 2060, it just messes up everything for some reason, but if I leave it on optimal or max performance it runs perfectly fine… maybe it’s because they are related to the win11 issues lately ?

@@cgfalcon9798 dam I have used experience since I got my pc build and been updating drivers from there. How can I reset and start to install drivers manually?
I never seen benchmarks to proof that such stuff makes any sense. On low end machines it will save ram and maybe CPU usage as well. But a game that's not playable caused by the fact the system can't handle it will not be playable regardless of any setting that's been done. There are many maybes behind nearly every statement.
Imo its better to put power management mode on normal as the global setting, it's unnecessary full clock speeds + higher temps on idle even when your on desktop without any programs open. Just add games to the program tab and then turn it on individually.
There is no issues setting it globally. Ive done it for a decade or more. No issues. Some games n programs can perform better with max performance. Not all games are coded correctly so leaving power on normal may hurt performance. Also can help a laptop.
@@texasrattler1325 I guess you're not the one who pays the electricity bills. A 3080 consumes 100W on idle if you set the power option to prefer max performance. On normal it drops to only 15W. I need to say a few things here. 8:35 This section does not set your resolution and refreshrate, this section shown on screen controls the resolution scaling method and the the two options he changes here do nothing other than show an example what the scaling will look like on the current monitor, like it says just above the dropdown boxes: "Preview" The only options you need to be concerned with here are the 4 selectable ones above that, Aspect ratio, Full-screen, No Scaling and Integer Scaling. For best performance in reducing latency, select No Scaling, otherwise select Integer Scaling for best resolution scaling quality. Some gpus may not have the Integer Scaling option, ie, pre RTX cards. Next, 9:10 DO NOT change the Global Values, use the tab on the right to change settings for each application individually. PLEASE PLEASE don't set Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance in the Global Tab, completely unnecessary, this can cause your gpu to run at full 3d clocks at all times, whether you're just browsing the internet or doing something else that doesn't require the full power of your gpu, which is a waste of energy, creates more heat, will reduce the lifespan of your gpu and so on. Again, use the Program Settings tab and change it for each game/application as needed instead. For most cases Normal or Optimal is the best choice anyway as the gpu will only use as much power is necessary and changing it to Prefer Maximum will offer no benefit. Low Latency Mode option. If you're playing a game that pretty much maxes out your gpu, enable Ultra mode, if gpu utilisation is under 90%, just use On instead. OpenGL option. No need to change this unless you have multiple gpus in your system and need to tell the driver which one you want it to use for OpenGL applications.

Setting Texture Filtering Quality to High Performance as shown in this video will result in a massive visual downgrade in your games. You'd be mad to do it except in extreme circumstances.
the visuals barely change at all lol. its extremely hard to notice. All that setting controls is filtering optimizations which are very minimal both in image quality and performance

Fantastic tutorial But i got a question How do you update your drivers now that you don't have the GeForce experience? I mean the GeForce experience is the interface through which yiu find out about new updated GRD and update your current driver...right? (I might be wrong...pls correct me if i am)
I have a 10700k and 3080. I notice a lot of open world games I play have mini stutters/freezes when turning. The games are on either an ssd or NVME. Ive tried reinstalling windows, ddu and different drivers, I checked temps and im running cool on cpu and gpu. I ran a 3DMark test and im getting good results. I suspect its memory related since i noticed increasing dram voltage on xmp profile reduced a bit of stuttering (3200mhx). It could also just be unreal engine since i notice its more prevalent in fortnite.
For me, it was a disaster. My PC crashed literally 6 min after Forza Horizon 5 opened, to the point that I couldn't get my Zotac 3070Ti to give output until I could cold boot. Really was frightening as my screen would start showing random dead-GPU artifacts and get crashed, which made me think for once That my card was done for. Take debloating GPU with a grain of salt.
For now, follow the DDU guide, and use a minimal driver install if you want a more "debloated" driver - but for the most part, AMD drivers have MUCH lower CPU usage than nvidias
Very helpful video, one question for laptop users, I saw that having Optimus enable actually lowers the performance in game and also limits some settings, for example I can’t use a custom res bc in the Nvidia control panel, it doesn’t show those options, so if I uncheck Optimus, my laptop will not have Optimus enable or something like that?
Yeah optimus disabled will give you more peeformance. Optimus is basically to help you save power. If it's plugged in I wouldn't worry about optimus at all.
@@mtnbiker1617 hey bro, and you know for example, I can’t use the new dlss option and also I can’t use customs resolutions in my laptop because of Optimus, you know if instead of enabling Optimus, I disable it in the option that shows the video, I can get this options on? I tried everything to disable Optimus but I can’t, it’s like locked
@@rodrigoarrieta6781 unless your laptop has a mux switch for switching display graphics, you simply can't disable optimus. actually you can disable it by plugging your laptop with an HDMI to an external monitor, which will directly connect to your laptop gpu for display and rendering and stuff, and doesn't use optimus, this is the ONLY way if your laptop doesn't have the mux switch. hoping i have helped you figuring this out.
To disable Optimus if you don't have a mux switch, you have to use an external display via HDMI (not DP) AND disable the laptop's built-in display by either closing the laptop or disabling it in the display settings. That way the laptop will only use the GPU instead of bottlenecking performance by also running through the iGPU. Jarrod's Tech did a couple of videos on this.
Jesus christ I did this thinking hmmm ya maybe debloating my driver will help my laptop perform a bit better who knows! This literally freaking DOUBLED my FPS lmao this is such a simple and easy thing to do but its SO worth it Thank you so much for this!
Actually unless if you are running on really low-end, doing this won't net you any additional performance, just less features. Mostly only people who don't like features and are very nit-picky or those who are conscious about telemetry and such are those who would normally debloat their drivers. Similar to some "custom" gpu drivers, this might even make you more unstable (bsods and similar issues).
Is it always recommended to use DDUI even if we just used it the update before? Also any chance you will be going over what windows services we can disable in the future?
If you continue to update debloated drivers with new DEBLOATED drivers, then in theory, yes - but once you get used to using DDU it only takes 1-3mins tops and is just a quick way to ensure everything to clean
I dont use ddu nor is it even required. I have not had any issues simply installing drivers over another. In fact jd say the only times ddu should even be used is you are constantly upgrading drivers or testing and if you are switching from a amd to nvidia gpu or vice versa.
@@texasrattler1325 Running DDU is like cleaning the dust out of your system. It's not required very often but it doesn't hurt and definitely prevents larger issues later.

Setting Texture Filtering Quality to High Performance as shown in this video will result in a massive visual downgrade in your games. You'd be mad to do it except in extreme circumstances.
True..
the visuals barely change at all lol. its extremely hard to notice. All that setting controls is filtering optimizations which are very minimal both in image quality and performance
@Panjno, if you’re honest, get the comparison video i.e. before and after uploaded.
I love this guy ❤
Happy new year panjno
what would have been good and gone a long way with this video was to do a before and after 3Dmark or some sort of graphic test, but overall a good guide
he wont do that as these settings make absolutely no difference.
Could you do an optimization for iracing? I would love this so much. Every video of yours is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't trust anyone but you
what game is that shown at the end of the video? I'm your fan!
Thanks,my old gtx 970 ...revived (sorry for my bad englkish) from Italy :)
I always watch every single video you post! It’s really been helping me out a ton and I have so much more computer knowledge now because of you ❤️
Hope you had some fantastic holidays!Appreciate you a lot and wish you the best in 2022 🥰
Fantastic tutorial
But i got a question
How do you update your drivers now that you don't have the GeForce experience?
I mean the GeForce experience is the interface through which yiu find out about new updated GRD and update your current driver...right? (I might be wrong...pls correct me if i am)
Probably can’t stress how worth it is saving up for a high end pc in the long term. Just gotta be patient it’ll be so worth it i swear
High end PC is a waste of money nowadays because parts are expensive and technology moves so fast.
How much of a performance boost can you really expect to gain from this
I have a 10700k and 3080.
Can you make a video on how to I’ve overclock amd gpu in the Radeon software and tell the pros and cons of doing so?
For me, it was a disaster. My PC crashed literally 6 min after Forza Horizon 5 opened, to the point that I couldn't get my Zotac 3070Ti to give output until I could cold boot. Really was frightening as my screen would start showing random dead-GPU artifacts and get crashed, which made me think for once That my card was done for. Take debloating GPU with a grain of salt.
Hello Panjino I love your videos but when are we getting an AMD version of this video please?
For now, follow the DDU guide, and use a minimal driver install if you want a more "debloated" driver - but for the most part, AMD drivers have MUCH lower CPU usage than nvidias
Great video as always!
Can you do Rust next please ? 🥺👉👈
Best TIP I ever found on the internet.
Hi Panj! What happened to the Tarkov video?
Prefer maximum performance is not described fully here. Basically it keeps you're GPU full boost always even just reading news in desktop
@@reza7bb oh i see, ty very much, you think trying the method of the video is worth it?
To disable Optimus if you don't have a mux switch, you have to use an external display via HDMI (not DP) AND disable the laptop's built-in display by either closing the laptop or disabling it in the display settings. That way the laptop will only use the GPU instead of bottlenecking performance by also running through the iGPU. Jarrod's Tech did a couple of videos on this.
Class panj, people charge a fortune for this these days
Btw what size monitor are you using? screen size, resolution
If I am not a content creator or gamer, What driver should I download?
Just browsing the web and studying
Bro when I saw this video pop up I had immediate flashbacks to rust legacy
You're gonna have to run an actual before and after test mate.
Your stuff is awesome but PLEASE could you do a best settings vid for DCS(digital combat simulator}?
Surprised you didn't set NIS in this one. Maybe that's the next video. ;)
can you make a guide for best Exitlag settings!? there is literally no content for it.
I love this channel, but what happened to the Tarkov video?
Jesus christ I did this thinking hmmm ya maybe debloating my driver will help my laptop perform a bit better who knows!
This literally freaking DOUBLED my FPS lmao this is such a simple and easy thing to do but its SO worth it
Thank you so much for this!
If your running on windows 11 you can link the task manager to your taskbar
Are there any actual performance numbers related to doing this? Like FPS before and after or anything like that?
Actually unless if you are running on really low-end, doing this won't net you any additional performance, just less features. Mostly only people who don't like features and are very nit-picky or those who are conscious about telemetry and such are those who would normally debloat their drivers. Similar to some "custom" gpu drivers, this might even make you more unstable (bsods and similar issues).
no, it's just rubbish made up, it's an excuse for click bait video to get ad money
@@WhippyWhipGaming Yeah no lmao this literally doubled the FPS on my laptop
@@Apocalyman i don't think that the guy u replied to has a decent GPU...don't waste ur time
@@Apocalyman on what settings and what was your fps before and after?
Is it always recommended to use DDUI even if we just used it the update before?
Also any chance you will be going over what windows services we can disable in the future?
If you continue to update debloated drivers with new DEBLOATED drivers, then in theory, yes - but once you get used to using DDU it only takes 1-3mins tops and is just a quick way to ensure everything to clean
I personally use DDU before every driver update since it only takes a few minutes and prevents any issues from coming up later.
It's not required very often but it doesn't hurt and definitely prevents larger issues later.
guys i just had a problem with my pc bcuz of this when i changed cable for display it says check display cable i did every i can find on google but i suddenly remembered that i bloated my Nvidia driver so i remove my gpu plug my display cable direct to the mobo and uninstall nvidia driver
Im just sharing this so if anyone's having a problem like mine and bloated their driver they will know what to do and sorry for my bad english, english is not my first language
1:28 193 running processes. Lots of win crap running in the background as well.
Hi Panjno…with DLSS coming to EFT, would it be possible to do best overall Settings for RTX cards, in NVidia Control Panel and best in game settings. Thanks
Cool video
Would you need to do this everytime theres a new driver install available if you want the best performance? And also how would you now if there is a new one available without geforce experience? i hope these arent dumb questions 😂
Should I use the ddu or just select clean install.
