Besides the insane portability (size and weight), the biggest thing for me is the charging system. Like you said... it all depends on what you are doing. "BETTER" is all relative. I have a Phantom 3 4k, a Mini 1, and an Air 2S. Absolutely love the Air 2S.
Exactly all depends what you need a drone for. People , I used to watch the sponsored videos and marketing and will rush a buy it , if that’s you then great go for it but 90% will be better off with a mini 2
So true...all great points. I don't yet own the Air 2S but I do fly a fleet of DJI and Fimi drones, yet the Mini 2 is my go-to drone for all the reasons he mentions. You cannot understate the public fear and perception associated with flying larger drones.
I started with the Mini 2 and it is indeed at a very important price/performance point. For sure. But the camera: It’s good, not great. So, I had decided I’d probably upgrade to the Air sometime if I found on on sale, or whatever. Then the Air 2s was announced, and I said “when that is released I’m buying it”. Literally bought it the day of release. Might have been the first in my town. The camera is *sooo* much better and it is very obvious in my opinion (I’m a photo and video geek, though). All your points are great regardless of preference for the Air 2s’ camera. The Mini 2 is still a great camera for the majority of people, and probably for me 25% of the time. Re size. Yes, the Air 2s is much larger. But I think people should understand: if you consider the two “fly more” packages with the included kit bags, it is quite amazing to me that the Air 2s “fly more kit” is not *all* that much bigger than the Mini 2’s bag when fully packed. Definitely the Air 2 kit is heavier, but still plenty light to have over your shoulder for a long time (in my opinion). It was pretty astonishing to me. If I look at the Air 2s’ bag without the Mini 2’s for comparison, I could easily mistake it for the Mini 2. In the end, they are both amazingly capable aircraft at their price and feature point!
For me the mini 2 will always be the better drone for those who live in the uk with the restrictive drone laws, hoping that the next mini 2 will have a 5.4k camera and other cool stuff like the air 2s as thats when i would make the upgrade, nice vid btw!
Im a pro drone pilot and sold both of my mavic 2 pro in favour of the Mini 2. This little drone allows me to fly places that larger drones can't, which means i get better results for my clients. The 4k footage is stunningly good and the photos are very good too. I wouldn't go back to a heavier drone now., I have the PfCO but wont be renewing this in July when it expires as i dont need to with the Mini 2. Can't fault it - Great video
I feel bad for you and your clients.. yeah the mini 2 is decent.. but it has one of the noisiest cameras of any drone from that era.. it is 5x more work getting the grain and noise of out photos in post production than even a mavic air 2..
Thanks for your honesty 👍🏻 with this I’m realizing that my mini 2 is more than enough for what I need (nothing commercial), if in future versions DJI can add hyperlapse or waypoints to it, I’ll be more than happy. Thanks again for the great work
We think the same. A very important video for first time drone buyers to view. Most beginners will crash or lose their first drone and you don’t want it to be an Air 2s.
Started very skeptical, as I was convinced of the Air2S......... Well very thankful for this vid. You have definitely convinced me the mini is way more portable and discreet with decent enough features. Thank you!
I own both and the mini 2 is not better it might be the right one for some because of portability and price but at the end of the day the air 2s is the one to go if you can afford it.
Well said, I’ve had a Mavic Pro for 3 years and I bought the Mini 2 with the help of some of your earlier videos. I am going to sell my Pro because I have already realised that for what I want the Mini does it all. I am actually wondering why you bought the air 2 in the first place, it does my head in these guys that have to have everything Dji all the time. I’ve said this in the past, some of the drones are so close together there’s almost no difference. Keep up the good work.
Great comparison, I agree with you the Mini and Mini 2 are still brilliant little drones which some of the 'better' DJI models can't beat! One reason I'm still enjoying flying my original Mavic Mini, it still does everything I want my drone to do.
12:46 BEST ADVISE ON DRONES EVER! I'm not joking! I bought an expensive drone and i hardly ever used it. its value just went down. for most of us the best drone is the one that's like a phone camera "that's a great sunset, boom snap it". u get more out of it. build up and lead with creativity over than equipment and by the time you get better equipment you would be able to do more with it. I think the tech spec is more of a limitation than a benefit for the majority of people. Be that guy or girl who's known for the best creativity not camera. WELL DONE DARREN. your on to something with content like this mate, because everyone else i watch is doing the same thing just comparing spec.
Bravo! What a refreshing real-world perspective compared to a lot of the recent Air 2S reviews. The low noise really is a big deal as folks walk past me on country walks and don't realise that I'm even flying a drone as they can't see it and barely hear it. They just think it's a toy as it's so non-threatening!
Happy I upgraded. Had the first mini and I live in the Caribbean so talk about winds. Plus the mini one with connection issues. Went sailing one weekend, high winds and connection issues I knew I shouldn't have flown it but that sunrise was just to beautiful to avoid next thing you know right into the ocean 😭😭. The mini 2 handle the winds a little better plus better connection just have to be mindful and listen to the signs next time especially when out in the waters.
I am new to drones! Had my mini 2 for about a month now with only about 7 days of use in different remote locations. Each time out I’ve managed to improve (I think) my flying thanks to help /tips on TH-cam. I’ve managed to get some good flight sequences (to be improved on). When I’m out walking, I carry my camera x1 lens, OM 4 & flask of coffee + biscuit; don’t think it’d be possible with a bigger drone ( as I read in another comment). Thanks for your candid advice > which I agree with 👍
Thank you practice practice and you will master it, each flight you will improve I’ve covered so many topics on the DJI Mini 2 on my channel so hope they help you
I have followed DJI sense they first started producing consumer drones. I new from way back then that I always wanted one but always stayed on the fence because of the price point but when they came out with the mini 2, I knew that was the drone for me. And for the amount of technology packed into that sub 249 g airframe is just phenomenal, and especially for the price. I really hope that DJI will continue to produce the mini 2 as I would buy it over and over again. And in my way of thinking it is all Positives and no Negatives. And as long as you follow some basic protocols while flying an aircraft without obstacle avoidance system, it should last you a very long time! I also think it has very acceptable low light performance which is always been one of my interest in photography. Anyway you look at it it’s a win win...
It is Carl, I can’t see them ever stop making it cos the mini 2 sells so fast internationally, the won’t ever have the same as Air2S features as it will kill that drone off but just like smart phones we will continue to get better quality performance with small sensors
Low light is rough in subburban... the modern smartphone cameras have spoiled us.... City is excellent though and good enough for everything else. The sensor hardware is a bit dated but the drone itself is soo good
When I fly my Mavic Pro all the neighbors are looking to see what I'm doing... when I fly my Mini's not so much... It's gotten to the point I leave my MP hanging on the wall... a place of Honor for the old bird, it’s served me well..!! Can't wait to see what they do with the Mini 3...The Mini 2 is practically the perfect drone for the novice. DJI never ceases to amaze.
I don’t consider myself a professional but I work with a few realtors and use the mini 2 on everything. I won’t be quitting my day job but every wensday I go shoot their new listings
I was at a lake the other day and a guy had a mini 2 and I could hardly hear it then when he'd done I got out my Mavic air 1 ie the Concorde lol . The mini 2 looked a good drone . I think if you have a DJI Drone and you have it for fun then there is no need to upgrade because it's going to be a good drone you already have .
nteresting comparison! I can’t really compare my Air 2S with the Mini 2 cause I don’t own one. I have a Mavic Air 2 and it’s badass. While I loved it a lot, I’m all about upgrading and just couldn’t resist getting the Air 2S and I’m so glad I did!!!
this is clearly a honest eye-opener..i have some dji drones..M. Air2, Spark, Phantom, all great drones, but here I see this M.M.2 is fantastic and more than enough drone&camera for me..thanx for this great review..I'm gonna purchase one ;]
I cant agree more not only its the best out there its probably the best officially in the world for under 249g , dont no if agree but i believe it could be used in a professional manner with the right filters ,settings and editing ,colour grading like some services like roof inspection ,construction sites ect
I bought the mini 2 when it came out and I love it. I just take it with me for travel and fun. The air 2 s looks amazing but I agree with your assessments. For just casual users, the mini 2 is probably the better buy. Thank you for your comparison.
Oh i know :) I don't get up-sold on 'the next thing' easily... I'm the same with mobile phones, i just get what I need and it lasts years! The mini 2 comes with me everywhere, everyday.
@@DMProductions Much thanks for answering that! So the mics only work when the rotors spin, but the cam will work without? That is puzzling. Still useful, because I can record audio on an F2-BT and add it in post. :) I'm happy to know that, either way.
@@Pharesm No there is no mic. So you will never get sound out of it. The buzzing of the props would drone out any sound anyway. And you can also carry your drone in your hand and use it as a bit of a stabilized camera.
@@PaulOostindie Thanks again :) So a Zoom F2-BT is probably a good idea to use, if you want any actual sound from the location, rather than creating audio separately and adding it in post...
Yeah man... I use the rth all the time to catch nice footage. I indeed love my mini 2. The best drone to buy in 2021! Thanks 4 sharing mate! Let's wait 4 Dji mini 3 with all 2S features...☺️🤔 i totaly agree! 🙏
I love the mini-2. I held out from the mini original because I live in the Rocky Mountains, USA and wanted a drone that can fly above 3000 meter mountains but also be less than 250 grams.
Today experienced my second crash with my mini 2 since purchasing it a month ago.. my front left motor is grinding on something half way through a rotation and won’t fly.. taking it to a shop when I get back from vacation. Luckily brought A2S before I left!!
@@DMProductions yes and it went down topside, 1 prop was cracked I thought that was the only issue. Replaced went to launch and one motor half spun then stopped.. controller read can’t take off check motor.
It is much like the difference between the camera on my phone and a SLR. My phone takes pretty pictures and it is in my pocket. The SLR can take even better pictures but is rarely with me. The best camera is the one you will use. The mini 2 is mush more likely to be used more often by the hobbyist. If you are a pro you carry the SLR and equipment, it your job, but for most non-pros, the camera on their phone is an amazing convenience that will get used. A bird in the hand beats one left at home.
Fantastic review I work to many hours and dont have time to be bothered with anything that requires me to takes courses and have restrictions imposed on me that I really dont want..I have the mini 1 mini 2 and when released I will get the 3 ,4,5,6 etc I have just deleted several youtubers that now have the air 2 as there latest videos ......glad to see you are not one of them
I have both the Mini 2 and the Air 2S I like them both. the mini is quiet and can easily pop into the bag and does a good job. But he Air 2S is really good it should be its twice the price. its Horses for courses.
you covered all the major points i was considering (size, battery unit price etc). that 1 inch sensor on 2s is fire but it doesn't seem worth paying double the price. i'll be getting mini 2. thanks for the advice.
Thank you for your comparison and verdict. May I ask you an advice, I flew my mini2 today and follow a boat. It was only 350m away and the picture suddenly frozen and I was very panic. Do you know what cause this happen and what should I do if it happen again. Many thanks
@@DMProductions Thank you for reply, yes my controller pointed to the drone. I was at the beach and facing the sea with the same direction of the boat.
Have an Air2 and a Mini2. The Mini2 is awesome, and my wife flies it without 2 training courses. 100% agree. BTW, its not really sub-250g with a battery...
My Mini 2 is perfect for what a need. I don't need anything bigger. Cheers for you great videos! But I do need to stop being a "drone wimp" and get the Mini 2 up in the air more often. It's so stealthy...
Do I have to calibrate that mini 2 before every single usage? For instance, I turn it on, calibrate it, then turn it off. Then, 20 minutes later, I turn it on because a train is coming and I want to get the shot. Do I have to calibrate again after the drone was off for 20 minutes since I never left the spot? Any tips on this whole calibration issue would be much appreciated because I'd rather than $600 than $1400 for a drone? I plan on getting my drone to take video of trains here in the USA and they range from 0mph to 70mph. Thanks for your time and the good videos.
Great video. In an ideal world the Air2S would be great but I travel a lot on my bike and so luggage space is at a premium, therefore for me the Mini2 is perfect. It's got all the features I need and small enough to easily fit in to the small available space that I have.
Thanks for this video. You helped make up my mind. I’m looking to upgrade from my Mini 1, and i was torn between the Mini 2 and the Air 2s. I’ve decided to save a few quid and go for the Mini 2, and this video helped me come to this decision.
Trouble is if you live beside the sea or in mountainous areas, (it's both were I live), it tends to be windy most days, too windy. Try flying that mini drone over high sea cliffs, most days you can forget about it. A friend came to stay with me to get footage of the sea cliffs with his mini 2, it didn't end well. It was flying ok for around 20 mins and then a sudden gust just took it and crashed into the sea, he was as sick as parrot.
I agree and with the future a future lichti app update (dji needs to update their API first) there is even the possibility that the mini 2 gets active track.
Great sound advice, totally agree with the mini 2 being pretty much as much as people want , hopefully with the fimi coming out with more flight programs , DJI will not want to get left behind and add them to the mini 2 , touch wood.
Hopefully , I’ve flown the new x8mini and whilst it’s good the software behind it is very far behind DJI in terms of speed and ease .. thanks for watching John :-)
Like you said, the only way you can improve the M2 would be if it had some of the additional features of the A2. I hope one day they can do that and keep it under 249 grams. Good comparison video.
Excellent review as always. Agree totally on the Mini 2 being the right drone for the majority of people. Also can add a couple of Cree strobes and Velcro and still remain below 250 grams - increasing the use of the Mini 2 into dawn or dusk. Love it!
Living in the U.K., the main advantage of the mini 2 is the ability to fly it in A0 after 2023. Unless the CAA have a major rethink on retro classification of existing drones, all the air 2s pilots will be only (legally) flying over agricultural land in A3 category by then. Even if both drones fell into the same A3 category, at least the mini 2 would only be a waste of half of the amount of money.
Do you think we can get dji to give the mini 2 a subject lock feature next firmware update? The mini 2 is already capable of subject lock during quickshots all we need is just an option to enable subject lock while the pilot is in control all the drone has to do is to maintain the subject in the frame
Would be great , I think additional features will be left off now, we seen zoom and 2.7k 60 added but I can’t see anything else, I’m sure the next successor Mini is already in progress but for now the mini 2 is more than enough
I got the Mini 2 and still gonna buy the air 2s. Nearly none of the things u talked about are a problem for me except maybe the price. dont get me wrong the mini 2 is an amazing drone, but still a had many situations were i wanted to film in a contrasty environment and just couldnt get the shot that i wanted. Also the bigger the drone the more stable it is and i had some situations were i just could not use it because it it was little bit windy. for someone who wants a nice little drone to go on vacation its the perfect drone, but if u want to do some serious filming it cant compete at all
It's a great comparison and points out the really big items that can make the Mini 2 the right choice: 1) price 2) size 3) weight 4) noise. for many saving nearly half the money, more than half the size and weight for travel and legality issues, and reducing the noise are BIG deals. the quality of the images and photos are also AMAZING... well until you see the Air 2S. then the rest of the argument does start to fall apart because the Air 2S quality of image and color is far, far superior. If you intend to edit the image at all with color grading, to be able to zooms with no loss of quality, shoot at dusk or dawn in low light and more the Air 2S just CRUSHES the Mini 2. the Air 2S also has active track which can be very, very useful for doing elegeant tracking shots or point of interest shots and the "quickshots" from Mini 2 are no comparison. Bottom line? if you have the money and don't need the extreme portability of Mini 2, then the Air 2S is the obvious choice. if you want or need a cheaper drone that still gives great results, or you travel a lot and the size differences are meaningful to you the Mini 2 wins.
I think so compete going forward it will have a front sensor , maybe front and top. That will allow for active track and obstacles avoidance. Tbh that alone will be fine , camera is good enough

Exactly all depends what you need a drone for. People , I used to watch the sponsored videos and marketing and will rush a buy it , if that’s you then great go for it but 90% will be better off with a mini 2
Finally a video where someone shows the size difference folded and unfolded. Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching Travis hope you found it helpful
So true...all great points. I don't yet own the Air 2S but I do fly a fleet of DJI and Fimi drones, yet the Mini 2 is my go-to drone for all the reasons he mentions. You cannot understate the public fear and perception associated with flying larger drones.
That’s such a detailed response and I agree with you 100% enjoy !
Thanks Cornwall. It will be so interesting to see how they can make it better whilst keeping it under 250g, exciting times
Personally what I'm waiting from next gen Mini is more safety sensors, and half inch CMOS like Air 2 has. All the rest is great so far.
One can not. but love these comparisons by the knowledgeable flyer.
Pilot in the LEFT seat! IN COMMAND.
That’s a great point especially coming from a pfco holder 😊
I feel bad for you and your clients.. yeah the mini 2 is decent.. but it has one of the noisiest cameras of any drone from that era.. it is 5x more work getting the grain and noise of out photos in post production than even a mavic air 2..
Thanks for your honesty 👍🏻 with this I’m realizing that my mini 2 is more than enough for what I need (nothing commercial), if in future versions DJI can add hyperlapse or waypoints to it, I’ll be more than happy. Thanks again for the great work
Thanks Alam , it’s perfect for most people , I’ve even made client videos many times with the mini 2 it’s more than good enough
We think the same. A very important video for first time drone buyers to view. Most beginners will crash or lose their first drone and you don’t want it to be an Air 2s.
Exactly would be a costly mistake !
I’m biting the Dji mini 2 in a few weeks
The best camera is always the one with you is very correct
I just bought the mini 2 two weeks ago. Full control of orientation in RTH function, is a great feature.
Started very skeptical, as I was convinced of the Air2S......... Well very thankful for this vid. You have definitely convinced me the mini is way more portable and discreet with decent enough features. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to watch
Thanks PD
😊 thank you 😊
Bravo! What a refreshing real-world perspective compared to a lot of the recent Air 2S reviews. The low noise really is a big deal as folks walk past me on country walks and don't realise that I'm even flying a drone as they can't see it and barely hear it. They just think it's a toy as it's so non-threatening!
Exactly it’s a really discreet , the air 2s is awesome I love it but does have disadvantages in that respect
Oh god I can imagine the winds , the Mini 2 is better in the wind , you must be able to get some amazing shots
Thanks for your candid advice > which I agree with 👍
Thank you practice practice and you will master it, each flight you will improve I’ve covered so many topics on the DJI Mini 2 on my channel so hope they help you
@@DMProductions yep, I have already watched a few (cherry picking as I watch). All have that bit extra skill / idea to take on. Cheers
Nice one 😊
I love the mini 2 more than my pro , simply over being able to fly it almost anywhere without any drama , portability, film , fun love it ..
The sensor hardware is a bit dated but the drone itself is soo good
Another great video Darren, I have the Mavic Pro 2, but like you, my go to drone when out and about is the Mini 2
got the mavic 2 zoom which i have hardly used only because i have the mini 2 but really looking forward to the mini 3
That was such a awesome comparison I love the honesty
Thanks choc
When I fly my Mavic Pro all the neighbors are looking to see what I'm doing... when I fly my Mini's not so much... It's gotten to the point I leave my MP hanging on the wall... a place of Honor for the old bird, it’s served me well..!! Can't wait to see what they do with the Mini 3...The Mini 2 is practically the perfect drone for the novice. DJI never ceases to amaze.
Yes the larger drones are really good but do attract so much attention mainly due to the noise
Got mine the day it came out in the US at best buy. Been superb ever since.
Nice one glad you agree
I have one, it is good enough for me. I almost take with it every travel I go. It is so portable, good quality & strong signal. I love it
I don’t consider myself a professional but I work with a few realtors and use the mini 2 on everything. I won’t be quitting my day job but every wensday I go shoot their new listings
never a true word said, mini 2 all the way for me,i don't want to fly it out of sight all i want is the shot and great video
Thank you so much Brian. I wanted to put a video out from a consumer standpoint 😊
and you did a fantastic job of doing it i must say
I was at a lake the other day and a guy had a mini 2 and I could hardly hear it then when he'd done I got out my Mavic air 1 ie the Concorde lol . The mini 2 looked a good drone . I think if you have a DJI Drone and you have it for fun then there is no need to upgrade because it's going to be a good drone you already have .
Very good point 😊
nteresting comparison! I can’t really compare my Air 2S with the Mini 2 cause I don’t own one. I have a Mavic Air 2 and it’s badass. While I loved it a lot, I’m all about upgrading and just couldn’t resist getting the Air 2S and I’m so glad I did!!!
Thank you Kevin
Great content..for me i will be ok with mini 2 just for hobby..its enough, no need to buy expensive one
Thank you Joel
Great things in small bundles!!,mini 2 all the way👍👍👍
Thanks both Awesome but yeah small and convenience wins
That's what my wife says!
this is clearly a honest eye-opener..i have some dji drones..M. Air2, Spark, Phantom, all great drones, but here I see this M.M.2 is fantastic and more than enough drone&camera for me..thanx for this great review..I'm gonna purchase one ;]
Thank you so much glad you agree
Thank you for your great honest info. I love the mini 2, please keep your mini 2 content coming. I always look forward to your videos!
Thanks so much wolf. People thought when I got the Air2S that was it for the mini 2, far from it
@@DMProductions Yes please do continue the mini2 content.
I have the Mini 2 and it is a Great drone. I love it .
Thank you.
Hey thank you
Great advice! I think for the price of the Mini 3 and what the Mini 2 does I'm going to buy the Mini 2!! Thanks for the info!
Good choice
I cant agree more not only its the best out there its probably the best officially in the world for under 249g , dont no if agree but i believe it could be used in a professional manner with the right filters ,settings and editing ,colour grading like some services like roof inspection ,construction sites ect
I’ve used it for client work with grading and it’s more than good enough 😊
@@DMProductions Thank you yes
I bought the mini 2 when it came out and I love it. I just take it with me for travel and fun. The air 2 s looks amazing but I agree with your assessments. For just casual users, the mini 2 is probably the better buy. Thank you for your comparison.
Thank you for watching and glad you agree 😊
Oh i know :) I don't get up-sold on 'the next thing' easily... I'm the same with mobile phones, i just get what I need and it lasts years!
The mini 2 comes with me everywhere, everyday.
Mini 2 is more than enough for most people
Could you answer me one question?
*Can you set any of the DJI drones down on a table and have it shoot footage just sitting somewhere, not flying?*
Sure but will be no audio
@@DMProductions Much thanks for answering that!
So the mics only work when the rotors spin, but the cam will work without? That is puzzling.
Still useful, because I can record audio on an F2-BT and add it in post. :)
I'm happy to know that, either way.
@@Pharesm No there is no mic. So you will never get sound out of it. The buzzing of the props would drone out any sound anyway.
And you can also carry your drone in your hand and use it as a bit of a stabilized camera.
@@PaulOostindie Thanks again :)
So a Zoom F2-BT is probably a good idea to use, if you want any actual sound from the location, rather than creating audio separately and adding it in post...
Thank you so much I really enjoyed the video, and as a result I purchased the mini 2 now I have to learn how to fly it.
That is awesome !! Nice one !!
Yeah man... I use the rth all the time to catch nice footage. I indeed love my mini 2. The best drone to buy in 2021!
Thanks 4 sharing mate! Let's wait 4 Dji mini 3 with all 2S features...☺️🤔
i totaly agree! 🙏
Thank you 🙏
Awesome, and there was me thinking you was going to stop the mini 2 content 🤣🤣🤣, great video mate
Never lol
@@DMProductions roll on the Mini 3, imagine everything that the air 2s has in a mini and under 250g, complete game changer
I love the mini-2. I held out from the mini original because I live in the Rocky Mountains, USA and wanted a drone that can fly above 3000 meter mountains but also be less than 250 grams.
Wow bet you get some nice shots !
hi my friend.. yup.. of coz.. mini 2 is the best drone for me too.. easy, compatible, great 4k videos quality.. love it so much.. 🥰🥰🥰
Fantastic thank you
Is the gimbal adjustment on the mini 2 smooth? Thanks
Very smooth if u fly it below 35 kph winds
You're absolutely right!
Spot on 😀
You work that Mini2 💪
Thank you glad you agreed 😊
Good video thanks but I'm waiting for the hubsan zino mini that's promising alot so we will see.
Interesting indeed
@@DMProductions Yes only seen a teaser video so I'm thinking it should be out very very soon.
Today experienced my second crash with my mini 2 since purchasing it a month ago.. my front left motor is grinding on something half way through a rotation and won’t fly.. taking it to a shop when I get back from vacation. Luckily brought A2S before I left!!
Did you hit something ?
@@DMProductions yes and it went down topside, 1 prop was cracked I thought that was the only issue. Replaced went to launch and one motor half spun then stopped.. controller read can’t take off check motor.
Love the mini 2. Been using it on my channel for a while now and your videos have helped me get to grips with it so thank you!🤙
That’s so great to hear and it’s a pleasure helping you along
It is much like the difference between the camera on my phone and a SLR. My phone takes pretty pictures and it is in my pocket. The SLR can take even better pictures but is rarely with me. The best camera is the one you will use. The mini 2 is mush more likely to be used more often by the hobbyist. If you are a pro you carry the SLR and equipment, it your job, but for most non-pros, the camera on their phone is an amazing convenience that will get used. A bird in the hand beats one left at home.
Fantastic review I work to many hours and dont have time to be bothered with anything that requires me to takes courses and have restrictions imposed on me that I really dont want..I have the mini 1 mini 2 and when released I will get the 3 ,4,5,6 etc I have just deleted several youtubers that now have the air 2 as there latest videos ......glad to see you are not one of them
Ha believe me Boo the mini 2 is going nowhere
I have both the Mini 2 and the Air 2S I like them both. the mini is quiet and can easily pop into the bag and does a good job. But he Air 2S is really good it should be its twice the price. its Horses for courses.
you covered all the major points i was considering (size, battery unit price etc). that 1 inch sensor on 2s is fire but it doesn't seem worth paying double the price. i'll be getting mini 2. thanks for the advice.
Thank you glad I helped you out
Thank you for your comparison and verdict.
May I ask you an advice, I flew my mini2 today and follow a boat. It was only 350m away and the picture suddenly frozen and I was very panic. Do you know what cause this happen and what should I do if it happen again.
Many thanks
Sounds like the signal between the controller and drone, was you pointing the controller in the direction of the drone
@@DMProductions Thank you for reply, yes my controller pointed to the drone. I was at the beach and facing the sea with the same direction of the boat.
I got the air 2. I'm thinking about getting just the air2s combo also or the mini 2.
Both fab, if you have a few batteries just get the 2s and you can use air 2 battery on 2s
Have an Air2 and a Mini2. The Mini2 is awesome, and my wife flies it without 2 training courses. 100% agree. BTW, its not really sub-250g with a battery...
Mini 2 with a battery is 238 is amazing 😊
My Mini 2 is perfect for what a need.
I don't need anything bigger.
Cheers for you great videos!
But I do need to stop being a "drone wimp" and get the Mini 2 up in the air more often.
It's so stealthy...
Thank you I’m glad it fits everything you need
Do I have to calibrate that mini 2 before every single usage? For instance, I turn it on, calibrate it, then turn it off. Then, 20 minutes later, I turn it on because a train is coming and I want to get the shot. Do I have to calibrate again after the drone was off for 20 minutes since I never left the spot? Any tips on this whole calibration issue would be much appreciated because I'd rather than $600 than $1400 for a drone? I plan on getting my drone to take video of trains here in the USA and they range from 0mph to 70mph. Thanks for your time and the good videos.
Not every time but if near metal you do get some compass calibration messages on the mini 2, I haven’t had any on the 2s
Very well said... it’s true what he said specially with the restrictions to fly for DJI Air 2S
Thank you for watching
Good side by side comparison that I’m sure will help people make an informed decision. I just wish the Mini 2 was compatible with the DJI controller.
I know that would be really good if they could allow that
Really solid points that you made here. You are such a proponent of the Mini 2 that DJI should sponsor you.
👍 thank you 🙏
Great video. In an ideal world the Air2S would be great but I travel a lot on my bike and so luggage space is at a premium, therefore for me the Mini2 is perfect. It's got all the features I need and small enough to easily fit in to the small available space that I have.
Exactly everyone has different situations - Air2S is better but bigger so if space is important Mini 2 works the best !
I've been thinking about getting the Mini 2 & this just makes me want it even more 👍🏃
Great thank you !
Can't wait to see what a Mini 3 (if released) would offer above the mini 2
I know me too!
I know I hope that happens !
Thank you so much hopefully one day hey
Excellent review as always. Agree totally on the Mini 2 being the right drone for the majority of people. Also can add a couple of Cree strobes and Velcro and still remain below 250 grams - increasing the use of the Mini 2 into dawn or dusk. Love it!
I love my dr-02 strobe I did a vid on it and helps massively at night especially
Good point Kev
Awesome 👏 best reviewer in the uk !!!
I agree Mini 2 beast mode for the price!
Certainly is!
I always look forward to your video's. Thanks for all you do from the USA!!!
Thank you burn, fingers crossed back in the states in august 🙏
Mini 2 rules💪 Greathings from Poland 👍
Hey love Poland!
Also the bigger the drone the more stable it is and i had some situations were i just could not use it because it it was little bit windy. for someone who wants a nice little drone to go on vacation its the perfect drone, but if u want to do some serious filming it cant compete at all
Sold that’s spot on, both are amazing , I love the Air2S , it just depends on the individual and the reason for needing a drone 😊
Excellent, excellent points! I’d pick the Mini 2. Have to get over the hype of the new Air 2s, but what good is a drone if you can’t get the shot.
Thanks that’s a great point
great video. i think when the dji mini 3 or 2s comes out. it will have front senors
I think so compete going forward it will have a front sensor , maybe front and top. That will allow for active track and obstacles avoidance. Tbh that alone will be fine , camera is good enough
Great video. At what height can the mini 2 not be heard at all? Thanks
About 40m it’s very quiet
@@DMProductions thx
Hi, awesome video! Would you be able to make a video comparing the battery life of the air 2s vs mini 2? Thanks!
Sure Sam 😊
The air 2s is going to hold up way better in heavy winds ...thats number 1 on my list.
I staying with mini 2, serious really need 👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏
Just what was needed as reviews go. Thanks
Thank you Arthur :-)
Keyword: "work"... Weight is irrelevant. Still need to be certified and registered, in the US at least...Great points and love the comparison!
