I remember when Alex did number one on purpose, ah the memories. Gravity Falls was my first fandom and been a fan since it came out. So I freaked like 99.9% of the rest of the fandom during that time 😂
Ah... I remember the McGucket hoax fondly. It didn’t help that it came with a legit screenshot of the finale and a pretty believable story behind it. But further investigation showed that the production code was for a season 1 episode that didn’t exist.

I completely agree with you about the Calarts hoax. It was ridiculous when I first heard it and it is still ridiculous now when another reboot comes around (especially on CN).
I think the little blip of slender being in the scene was real, but it was an Easter egg. He was there, but it just wasn’t meant to be anything more than a fun little thing for fans that pay closer attention. These types of things were the first Easter eggs. It was more of to encourage watchers to pay closer attention to the background so that they’d be ready and aware when the animators actually put clues and hints about the story into the background
I know people still believing the "calarts style" thing thinking that modern show aren't as crazy as older ones which to be honest I believe is bullshit
The Ed, Edd n Eddy reboot being a hoax definitely makes sense because Cartoon Network will not make more reboots any time soon. The PowerPuff Girls reboot and the Ben 10 reboot are the only reboots Cartoon Network wanted to make, so this means that they are officially done with reboots.
Fun fact: while slender man never appeared in the gravity falls show as mentioned in the video, he does appear in the gravity falls lost legends graphic novel, probably in reference to the hoax about him being on the show
Ahhh, always good to see a discussion about the Slenderman hoax and the McGucket Author hoax! I miss the early days of the the Gravity Falls fandom. Good times...:') Also, those "SPONGEBOB IS ENDING RIP IN PEACE" posts are so ridiculous...there are so many out there (as in, at least one every year, if not MORE) that I think it might take me a while to believe the news when an announcement about the show's ACTUAL cancellation actually comes out someday. Not only that, but it's awfully mean to play with the emotions of fans like that, especially kid fans! I hate that. Vincent Waller had to reassure people once again not that long ago, when I replied to him, he ended up telling me that neighbor kids on his street came to him crying when they saw one of the hoax posts. :c
