GT7’s model is insanely detailed, I can feel creators really love cars. Forza is… I can’t believe they took 6 years to make the game…
I'm not a digital artist. But if I was extremely talented, I don't think I would need a love of cars to produce GTs level of detail. Some of the most famous and beautiful songs ever made are hated by the artist. It comes down to people like Kazunori Yamauchi as head director to say " make them better, make them exactly like real life. No short cuts

GT7's lighting is way better than FM23's never mind the actual racing being more true to life. The physics are also much better in GT7 than FM23.
@nicog4638 lol. 🤦♂️ Even on track during gameplay, nothing changes. GT7 car models are far superior. FM uses less polygons and has some jagged edges and looks even more plastic than ever. And then there's the ai cars looking far worse. At least on track, GT7 cars still have a lot of detail. There are even videos showcasing this.
Not a lot of actual sim racers (these aren't full sim games) race in chase view. It's either cockpit, hood view, or bumper view. So the camera movement isn't an issue for us. Besides, you can adjust it to be less stiff.

Forza had superior sound for the first 6 or 7 games when compared to GT7. It wasn't until Sport and GT7 that the sounds got right. They actually sound like the real car in GT7. In FM, the cars all sound modified when they're stock.

@VariantAEC I played gt games my whole life I've had gt3 when the ps2 came out until gt7 on the ps5 and a 4k qled hdr TV and yes gt7 car models look better the lighting and physics are better in forza if you actually play the game and learn how to drive the cars the physics are better than gt7 there's even a video on TH-cam by a TH-camr where he compares forza and gt7 in the rain and everyone says forza looks better than gt7 even the driving experience in forza the way you see you cars back end swin unlike gt7 with a camera glued to the back of a car even the interior lighting and tracks in forza look way better than gt7 gt7 only focuses on car models and replays and photomode forza doesn't have a good replay and has car models that look like the real life car and handle more like a real car than in gt7 where's there's no grip loss when turning a corner even at night in forza the lighting is way better and more realistic than gt7 because there's lights on the real tracks it's not as dark as it is in gt7 and when you saying lighting in gt7 is better are you talking about the sun hitting the car and reflecting off of it like a mirror

@@Pickchore I find it funny that ppl seem to forget that the launch of GT7 wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. GT7 is plagued with a lot of similar problems that Forza has. The only difference being that it’s not buggy and the devs actually care about how their product is presented. Other than that, it’s really about the same. Now I’m not saying Forza’s better, but I am implying that GT7 isn’t really that far off.

They love money at least as much as they do cars, because I've never seen a game so hellbent on tanking the in-game economy the way they did in the first few months of GT7 just to convince people to spend real money. They did make some concessions later down the line to be fair, but farming for a 20 million credit car is still over 12 hours of work and many cars have gone up in price in the meantime.
today irl, there is literally no siutation that would allow you to be this close to a 22B. Even if you see one at Cars & Coffee or a showroom, they will not let you get so close to where you can sniff it like in GT7 VR.

Forza Horizon 4 and 5 maxed out on PC isn't winning some of these literal PC vs Mobile phone game comparisons.
Since FH uses FM car models and CSR2 is a phone game released June 29th 2016 for Android 7 and up, the comparison should favor FH and by extension FM...
Spoiler alert: textures are better in FH on PC and that's about where the good stuff ends for Horizon.

GT7 seriously put the damn serial number markings ON THE HUB OF THE WHEEL. They had no business doing that, but they said, "Fuck it, let's make sure we get the details correct."

Also, notice how GT7 doesn't have squared off, jagged curves on circular areas of the car, whereas FM23 does. Like, is it that difficult to get extra polygons on game models these days?

Seeing as how Natural Motion is doing a better job with Forzavista-like features in their racing game... I'm 100% with you that PD would blow everyone out of the water again if they started including engine bays and more interactivity.
Natural Motion makes CSR Racing, which is a literal phone game... yeah... a phone game is giving you better details and a much more up close and personal look at the cars you can use in game.

I would just like to add that this has always been the case, it's just that it took people 20 years to realize that. The gap in model quality, track reproduction, overall authenticity was already there to witness back in the PS360 era. Can't believe Polyphony even simulated the light around the cigarette lighter, talk about details. I'm regards to Sim physics it's good that u want to learn more before getting into that. If I was Id start by wet and dry lap times, real life lap times vs game lap times. The Porsche Taycan is 4 wheel drive at certain speeds or gears and rear wheel drive at higher, I think. I saw a vid dude simulated that by drifting out at low speeds in the rain, and the car would change drift style from 4wd to rwd to match the speed. Awesome I can't believe they simulated that

The creator UltraViolet posed the question to Forza Motorsport " Do they still see the automobile as art? " Which is a damn good question. Because i would argue that cars are works of art. At least prio to this EV craze. There was some absolute soul and care put into the designs of the cars.

This 22B model is now the best one Forza has had, I don't know if it's an all new model or if they've just corrected the proportions, as I noted some of the angles aren't quite right still, like the lack of slant on the front grill. but it's an OK model now. The colour is still wrong, it looks too dark and too gray! What I do like is that I like how it looks like the plastic headlights have aged a little on the Forza model. Whether that's intentional or not, I quite like that. GTs models are in a whole new league though. Never before have I seen cars so detailed that you could swear it was real life. I know graphics aren't everything, but Polyphony has pulled out all the stops for GT7, especially after being personally disappointed by GT5 and GT6 (which I like to call GT5.5). If it had a PC version I would have snapped their arm off and I don't personally want to get a PS5 just for one or two games. Turn 10 have really let everyone down with their lies and releasing a broken and massively incomplete product.

GT7 is ihnsane with detailing. I mean there was no need for them to detail every single red stitching on the seats and gear knob, but they did cause they wanted to make the car as close to the real world as possible. even the STI engraving on the exhaust was not needed but they did it for the love and passion of cars.

I wish we could play GT7 with Path Tracing. The details are as realistic as possible, but lighting and shadows aren`t quite there yet. Probably on PS6 or maybe PS5 Pro

Forza does not even look bad here, its only when you compare it to GT7 that you notice the quality difference. The engine bay is a HUGE plus on Forza though. This and actually opening the doors on the cars is something missing from GT7. It should definately be added for GT8, especially with the engine swaps.

The biggest difference is that Gran Turismo uses multiple LODs in game and Forza uses only one (photo mode included). It's not really as important as it seems. How much of a visible difference it has during the game with GT's lowest LOD (level of detail on cars) and FM's only LOD?

No, I'm not in a 'scape mode, just VR. You can only do this in VR. But if you want a free cam, try going into the vinyl editor to view your car and change the background. It gives you some freedom to check the cars up close

U ppl mistake model with a material. Both models contain same amount of details - its the material that does the thing way better in GT7.
People have been saying FM looks like a mobile game... I don't have FM23 but I do have FH3-5 and I will be comparing some of the cars in that game to CSR2 which currently can only be played on smartphones (maybe via Google Play on PC, but I'm going to use the phone version).
I'm working on my first FH4/FH5 versus CSR2 car modeling comparison. Already captured quite a bit of content for the Alfa Romeo 4C, Ford Focus RS, Toyota AE86, just acquired the Toyota Supera in CSR2 today as well... the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Honda Civic Type R... probably a few others (loads of cars in CSR2). I have not decided to compare the Lotus Exige, and there are a couple of other German cars I've not captured. Additionally, I haven't captured one of the only Lamborghinis I have in CSR2. I did find the Ferrari 250 GTO... I did a comparison a long time ago (I thought I had some video of that from way back, probably captured some AR footage on my Samsung Galaxy S8 I'll have to see if that was moved to a hard drive).
I can tell you one thing... FH on PC has better textures... and that is about it!
I reccomend you to check Racing master... That's a true next gen mobile game (better than motorpost)
for a mobile game CSR Racing 2 has a quality on par with console/PC game only that kind of details being wasted for generic drag racing gameplay

For what it is, it can still be fun. Also, unlike Forza Customs, there is a real racing event that drives the car customization hook if that's what you're in to. Honestly, I don't know why Forza Customs wasn't a drag racing game like CSR2.

Nothing against the Chinese as people, but I can't download Chinese software because the government of China is hostile to literally everyone. Unfortunately, I won't be getting Racing Master, but it looks ok. The beta looks promising like a more interactive version of Forza Street with slightly better visuals.
In totaal, Forza is a better game in my opinion.
I would say the plus and minus category for both give GT the edge, but FM 2023 is certainly not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. I do respect your opinion, something in short supply on these GT centric channels.
I would just like them to fix their game so I can try to get 30fps I can't even get FM to go fullscreen mode on PC. I do like the fact that I can modify cars ridculiosly in FM and the generally wider variety of the cars.

The problem I have with GT7 is that I remember GT5 having more detailed interiors. A lot of infotainment systems in GT7 are blank except for a few like the ZL1 Camero. I’m pretty sure that the time on your system would sync on some models in GT5 like the R32.
From what I've seen, cars with timers always sync to in-game time, which gives the appearance of them being frozen in a lot of the offline events because they have time progression disabled. Beyond that, though, there's definitely a lot of infotainment systems that I wish weren't blank, as well as some cars with digital display gauges (like the new Z) having a noticeably low resolution
@@Evarakeus The 2020 AMG Black Series has an ok infotainment center in GT7. I just don’t like how an R35 from GT5 has working turbo boost and steering direction indicators while the GT7 R35 infotainment is blank.

What isn't a stretch is saying that CSR Racing 2's car models actually look better than FH5's car models even maxed out on PC. That by extension means there is at least the HW power to have better looking cars on smartphones that T10 could deliver to PC in FM23's car models. That should be a stretch, but it isn't.

gt7 is literally unreal, holy cow. Would love some AC comparison with gt7 honestly! We've long established GT having the best car models on console, but I personally feel they overlap PC entries as well, most notably AC.

Pretty sure GT7 blows them all out of the water.
GT7's magic is how their engine handles ultrahigh resolution car models at high framerates. I don't know what mathematical chicanery PD is using to get that done especially on a console, but no one comes even remotely close and by no one that includes Kunos Simulazioni (the makers of AC and AC:C) at present.

Forza is a racing simulator. GT is a car simulator with racing. If you have time, the RX-7 Spirit-R comparison! That's my all-time-favorite car, and it's available on almost everything. FH5, the new FM, GT7, and Assetto Corsa. You should compare it to real life with all of them!

Forza is a JOKE in comparison, I was a massive forza fan for years too, and don't own/haven't played GT7 at all and can tell it's far superior to Forza just in graphics/detail alone... Also just look at the state of games Xbox/Microsoft releases nowadays... starfail, redfail and others just show the lack of quality, and you can play them all on pc anyway so why bother with an xbox console if you've got a half decent PC? Personally If i was to buy a console (which I probably will for GTA6) then it would be the PS5 for sure 👍and I would defiently be picking up GT7 for it too!

It's a developer choice to make more detailed models based on their plans for the platform, PS supports VR while Xbox not, perhaps that's why GT7 has more detailed car models

There is only ONE aspect where Forza is ahead of GT7 in my opinion, and the sad part is you need to go back to FM7 to see it, because FM2023 botched it like everything else; The layers of paint and detail of paint texture. There is absolutely no question GT's car models are miles ahead, but I can't help but notice how pristine and glossy the surface of the paint looks. There are zero imperfections, no texture, no subtle reflection bounce from clear coat, it's just all at one level as if it were made of glass.
If we could get GT7's car models with FM7's paint (only the paint mind you, not the janky FM plastics and rubber textures) it would be spectacular.
Nope, it isn't regardless of what it think. The guys at PD are professional photographers and car enthusiasts. They spend a lot of time staring at these cars from more angles than we care to know. If it's one thing they do is have attention to detail.
Perhaps you can show this detail you're saying FM7 has that surpasses GT7, because I'd like to know myself as I've never heard of it.
For me the best thing FM does is layering dirt and debris on the car regardless of the race you're in, once you get to the end it's going to show build up. GT7 doesn't seem to have this on, it was there in Sport for online races as you'd see it when you view the after race final pose screen. Can't say I've noticed it on in GT7.
So go ahead and give some sources so we can look for these great detailed clear coat with subtle reflections. Sounds like your looking at a slightly dirty paint job, but hey subtle reflections sounds legit!
@@evilformerlys4704 If you go into FM7's Forzavista mode, go to camera, and zoom in on angles of the cars, you can actually see the orange-peel texture of thr clear coat reflecting differently from the base paint underneath. It's a well known thing with FM, one of the "Big deal" graphics upgrades they flaunted with FM5, carried over to 6 and 7. FM2023 however seems to have decided that making everything look like tupperware was better... but you cannot seriously tell me that you have ever seen the surface of a regular car's paint look as perfectly smooth and layerless as GT7. A hand painted show car with thousands of hours of wet sanding and blending? Sure. But a machine painted car off the assembly line onto a dealership lot? Not in a million years.
@@evilformerlys4704 Just uploaded 2 videos on my channel showing the lighting effect I am talking about, one going over the edges of a 2015 WRX STI, the other showing the fender/hood edge of a 2016 Camaro to show the difference in light bounce from the carbon fiber hood vs the paint. I'll be uploading another shortly of a McLaren Senna, since that is a "bespoke" car and FM7 simulates the smoother texture of those types of cars paint as well. Texture is still there, but is noticeably more smooth since cars like the Senna are hand painted.

The odd thing is, what you're talking about seeing in FM7, I've also seen when looking close enough the finish on cars in GT7 (either in photomode or your garage) . It's so easily noticeable that it's even possible to see it in compressed YT videos.
It was actually one of the first things I noticed about GT7 when it first came out... that the 4k textures revealed imperfections in the coats of paint AND on the body of the car itself. The surface of an orange peel btw, is a perfect description of what the surface of a car looks like due to the application of paint.
Btw, VR I don't think shows the imperfections... might be due to lower resolution?
@@sofaking1180 It is an interesting question, if PD has the paint texture in "regular" modes of the car, it seems odd they'd leave it out of VR, especially when they even model the crinkles in the headrest leather or shift knobs. Either way though, it truly is shocking how bad FM2023's car models are by comparison. Even FM7's cars look so much better, I have no idea what the hell happened at T10, but I feel like this is gonna be the death-knell game for the FM franchise.

That may be the dumbest thing I've ever read. Why? On what grounds? I mean if you want to go down that slippery slope, we can sue just about every developer in the world for some stupid reason.
When you actually play the game, you know the thing most GT fanboys here are forgetting about, it looks great and provides a decent experience. IMO, of course, I have to throw that out there before I'm attacked by the GT fanatical segment.
