This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection th-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seems to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
I love how you don't need to do any talking while working in your stuff it's so easy to understand please don't change how you do things, everything you do is awesome!
I appreciate the quiet music, no unnecessary chatter, the list of materials, the step by step demonstration and well...the finished product! You got this down. Thanks you! Please make a similar bench with storage! Perhaps with slots for shoes, or with sliding doors? Thank you!
The reason I've subscribed to your channel is everything is easy for the non professioal woodworker to understand. Everything is shown on the screen telling what sizes are needed, quality, what tools are needed and no talking which is outstanding. The music, your wife & of course the dog models add to the enjoyment of watching how the projects are built. Do you think outside plant holders will be added? Wheelbarrows, wishing wells, animals & 3 tier plant stands would be fantastic. Thanks & keep up the Great work,
Simple and EASY.....after i told my mom how much it cost to make a table ...she said huh????...then i said to myself it cant be that hard!!!!...Thx for SHARING YOUR TALENT!!!SIMPLE and EASY!!!...GREAT IDEA!!! keep up the GREAT work GUYS and GALS ..OF COURSE!!!
Thank you for getting straight to the point with the necessary items and showing every step of the way without a single word. Never subscribed anyone before up until i saw this video! Appreciate you showing the steps for the beginners!
Great tutorial, made this today following your instructions for about $45 here in Las Vegas, just modified a bit to make the size I need also added a shoe rack to the bottom, looks great, thank you!
Never built anything before in my life. However, your video just helped me repurpose an old wooden gate into an awesome rustic bench. Now I want to make more! Loved the simplicity in the directions. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Awesome! I just shared this on Facebook and this grandma is going to make this, this weekend! Thank you for such easy instructions. I'll post a picture when I'm done. I will take it a step farther with white washed distressed! Beachy shabby chic Yay, I'm excited to get started!!!
You guys are THE BEST! You make every project look extremely simple and easy to do, and the best part you show each step leaving no room for error. I can't wait to build something for my new home. Thanks Rehab Life!
I actually made this and it turned out great! I did as someone in comments suggested and used the wood glue all all joining parts, I also used 2inch deck screws on the legs to fasten to the sides. I had then on hand already and give that little extra stability. For those whining about cost. Depends what wood you use. I used knotty pine. Cost was about $18 total from Home Depot.
Brandon Mingerink I agree he paid to much for the lumber but the time was with his son so it would have taken much longer than doing it by himself. But it was a day he and his son spent together. A day he taught his son so many different lessons (not just how to make a bench).
I just built the table yesterday EVERYTHING WENT PERFECT 👌 I 🤬 love my table thank you both so much .. now I’m going to use this method for end tables as well as a bench ..
Thanks a lot! Just finish my bench today. It took me about total of 6 hrs in a couple of days with the help of my daughters ( no stain or polyurethane yet). Look nice. No experience with wood work.
I have a new wrinkle for you, instead of using the finish nails, I use the old time cut nails, a few dings, a few burns from bent nails, etc. Makes these tables and benches look like they been around and refinished. Also make chairs, round top tables and oval end tables. Use a lot of pegs, to make them look older. Just some thoughts from a 70 year old wood smith.
Nicely done. I like the simplicity of this bench. There are hundreds of other videos that show u fancy ways of making a bench with brackets and what not. This one is simple yet the end product is a respectable bench. Keep up the good work
Made the farmhouse table first and it was sooooo simple. The bench was easier. I have never done anything like this before! My wife says, I have skills. Y'all made it easy for me to put these together, Thank you. Salt Spring Island.
I'm not finished, but I followed your instructions, making changes for length (40") but it turned out great. I used mainly leftover wood and a piece of 3/4" sanded plywood for the top.
I made this a couple of months ago following these plans, turned out fantastically. It's sitting at the long end of a 7 foot long dining table I built from an online plan.Thos week I' going to make another long bench and 2 small benches based on this plan. The height is perfect for my table.
Saw this last night, picked up the materials I needed for two 28” benches, one for each side of my cabin door. Perfect and thanks to this video it was easy. Sure I changed everything for my needs except the height of the bench, but that’s what it’s all about. Thank you so much for the video. There’s a console and barn door on the list now.
Great videos. I build two benches and planning to build a table. Your video are excellent and easy to follow. Keep up the great job! Please add more videos, I appreciate your time, effort, you sacrificed for us.
Wow i'm in love with all this videos, my husband is a carpenter but has never make furniture for us, i'm gonna start asking him for some of this pieces!
Great video! Just made two of these (2022, San Diego CA). With the stain, poly coating (these are going outside), and all the rest of the materials it was just under $200. 2016 was a kinder year for DIYers indeed! Nonetheless, very happy with our new benches.
thank you for this video :) I made this bench this week--and went from not owning a hammer to having a n awesome bench. I really appreciate the simply, accessible, and clear--and stylish--of this video, and look forward to trying some of your other items (now that I have a hammer I'm unstoppable :))
Love your videos: this is a suggestion to put the purchase list in the description box or create a link to a separate blog that we can print out the supplies that we need.
U guys do some beautiful work & make it so easy 2 do. I Lov making things but never used a saw of any kind except a exactly saw. I will do my best. Keep the great work up.
great video! If you're adding this to your $50 DIY Farmhouse Table, the original measurements for the bench do not allow it to fit between the table legs (approx. 61") The table is great. The bench is great. I just wish I had thought about being able to slide the bench under the table before I built it. My apartment is a little small and being able to slide the bench under the table would help save a little more space.
Justin Watkis Interesting. I was going to build both with the goal of being able to tuck the bench under. I'll have to modify the bench measurements so it fits. Good looking out.
Just wanted to say thanks on your awesome channel. I built the bench and it came out great. Very strong and sturdy. I used feet levelers on the legs to make sure it didn't wobble. We are about to make your cocktail table next. And yes we ordered your book!!!
Ahora tengo ganas de hacer un banco, idéntico al tuyo, para mis plantas (hybiscus). Gracias por el buen video, completo con instrucciones, medidas, herramientas, etc.
Just found your channel and I'm so happy I did.The hubby and I just finished the bench and also made the wood cuts for the farmhouse table. Everything is coming along great!! Thanks a bunch😁
@@Doorknobz still use it everyday. Just recently talked about getting rid of it just so I can build a new one. But it's held up very well. I've got 3 kids that are very tough on it and it still looks great.
This was great. I'm not going to say it was easy, but for a beginner it was doable. Here's the thing though. It ain't $20. If you have a friend with a saw, It's still about a $50 bench. I made two and the wood alone cost $75 at Home Depot. With paint it came to about $50 a bench. Still a good deal and still a fun and satisfying project. I suspect that if you buy in bulk, know where to go, already own supplies.... it can be a $20 bench. But for a stone cold beginner who has to buy everything... it's like a $50 bench.
Thank you fot your video im a beginner d.i.y lady and i love that your videos are simple easy and i dont need many tools im making this bench along with a cushion seat
so I've been stalking thid video for about 2 weeks and finally made this..first time doing something like this (not counting woodshed some 25 years ago-ha!). learned some lessons but made this and am quite pleased with the result. thanks for the easy to follow video!!!
People are complaining about price but don't stop to think that they can build 1 or 2 more and sell them at a price where they can make their money back.
Thanks, I love this video its 5:57 a.m. here in Arkansas and I am ready to start building. I use a lot of scrap wood that I get from different places. Once again Thanks for this video can't wait to see some of your other videos.
These vids are great, I would recommend that instead of putting dollars on the project, you give the time spent. Here in the southwest, the wood costs about three times as much.

$100 and whole day work. But worth every penny of and minute of it. Made tons of memory working with my son. Thank you.
Indy Singh to make this bench?? It cost me $20 and took 30 minutes lol
Indy Singh
If you spent $100 on the lumber for that bench you need to find another source for your lumber.
Brandon Mingerink

Clayton Realist where do you get your lumber?? I made this bench and it cost me $45 just for the wood. I’d love to get it for less.

Hi, I'm late, but I'm confused on how you got your cut list when your measurements don't match. For example, I am doing a bench that's 58L x 18W x 18.5 H, what would my cut list be? Just a little confused..
For those who are going to take on this task before placing the above boards where you be sitting on lay them flat on the floor and put the frame on top make markings on the size of the boards so that when you flip is upside down and you are ready to glue and nail it from the top you know where you'll be otherwise you will split your wood
Made mine today!! Thanks for posting
Will this bench be able to withhold four people sitting on it? Would it look weird to replace the legs with 4x4s?
Love.... so educational.. yet entertaining... lol
You should put the materials list and the cut list in the description.

Why jot it down when one could screenshot it?
You could just screen shot it
I think you meant to say can you please.
