    And for those of you out there complaining about how he had planed his wood. This could have been done with a simple little planer before he had glued it. Show the guy some respect for taking the time to show you his heart. Great work.

    • @SaintLucifer666
      @SaintLucifer666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ray flynn exactly, he had to make a shit ton of them for a bar. This guy is obviously in the business. If you’re making one or two for personal use just joint and plane the wood with what you have already. I use my Dewalt planer as a face jointer with a jig I made that also doubles as an edge jointer on the my table saw. Everything else he used I already have .

    • @keithmarlowe5569
      @keithmarlowe5569 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaintLucifer666 I just made a table saw joining jig for edges. Works great. What about the face? I tried with much pain on table saw; not with jig of course. It took all day, had burn marks, saw marks, uneven, hogged down and tripped breaker a zillion times. This is clearly the wrong way! I have Ryobi electric hand planer I was thinking to try, and was also thinking to just get a bench top planer. You seem a competent DIY-er so figured to ask your opinion.

    • @SaintLucifer666
      @SaintLucifer666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Keith Marlowe hey man I use a Dewalt bench top planer DW735, it’s not the cheapest tool (but it’s still probably cheaper than that big ass sandpaper belt Phillipe changed out in this video). I’m a disabled vet and both blue and orange big box stores gives me 10% off so I saved $60 on It from the blue store. If you are a vet or have a buddy that is , take him with you to the store and have him show his credentials. You can still pay cash or use any card you want to pay after that . Anyway I built a jig exactly like this one in the video link here and as you’ll see it does double duty as a face and edge jointer using the planer for face and table saw for edge, good luck and be safe . th-cam.com/video/wFXJuOGvjLE/w-d-xo.html

      Construction grade lumber will probably remain high for a few more months, but if you can find a place to buy hard woods ( like walnut, cherry, and so on) they have stayed relatively low in cost.

      @@philipedocarmo thanks for the follow up. I'm working on a new planter box project for my wife and I'm trying to find a wood that will stain nicely. Are your top boards stained?

      You don't need any of those power tools. You can do everything with clamps and a plane. A router might help.

      Mark Sandy agreed pal , a job site table saw to rip 2x4 that’s all you need and sender !
