- Escape the city and hustle and bustle of Singapore life with a Tiny Away stay on Lazarus Island. We took a short 15 minute boat ride from Marina South Pier and enjoyed a weekend off the grid!
Clear beaches, soft sand and a chance to just rest and play together was just what we needed. The best part was that we didn't have to leave the island for the last boat home as we were staying in one of the Tiny Away Escape homes which has everything you need for a night away.
When the rest of the islanders were leaving or pitching their tent for the night we went for a sunset walk before heading back to the cool of the a/c inside our compact home for the night. It may be small but with a bathroom, full size shower (with amazing hot water and good pressure), mini kitchen with all you need for a nights meal, a double bed And a pull out sofa for the kids it was perfect.
After making smores' inside on the electric bbq we snuggled down to watch a movie on Netflix.
The next day we had an amazing speed boat ride planned but before that Milo and I cooked bacon outside whilst Jonty and Aspen went to check out the beach before the first boat arrived on the island.
The speed boat ride was incredible!!

Thank you for this totally fun video, the Islands look so gorgeous and the rare quiet, no crowds very attractive, this video might've booked out those Tiny Houses for the next few months. Even with your family of four, it looked comfortable, not cramped and that Bacon Breakfast a real hit. Am a huge fan of Bryce Langston's channel Living Big in a Tiny House, the beautiful Tinies and the amazing lifestyle of the people he features.

I think I’d enjoy those programmes too, I’ll have to look them up. I watched a series called George Clarkes Tiny homes. Also showed how sometimes we just have so much “stuff” we don’t really need and can live in smaller spaces with some good planning and resourcefulness.

My last SUP was last May in London at the Canary Wharf canal, followed by yoga on the paddle board at 7am. It was wee cold but was fun. And planning another SUP this July in Loch Lomond Scotland with my Russian friend.
Oh wow I’ve seen people doing yoga on the board, is it hard? I’m (Millie) not that great at the balance part, plus I don’t like falling in haha I use an inflatable kayak if we go out for a longer paddle.
@@WONDERLUSTworld Hi Millie, it is not that hard if one balance is good and also the water is not choppy. I would definitely recommend you to try. The first time I did the SUP was at East Coast beach and my friends and I kept falling into the sea as the water was so choppy but was fun.

The bug situation was fine - we sprayed didn’t get nibbled at all. Aspen was actually more concerned about the moths - we weren’t very specific in the video 😂 I think the outdoor light just attracted them. They do also provide an electric mosquito light too. 😊🙏🏼
Aww! Jonty is like few years too late in starring in a James Bond flick. James Bond did a film in Singapore. Can’t remember which one but it was with Sean Connery I think. That’s what my late dad told me. He and my late uncle went to the Bidadari, yes that Bidadari with the new flats back in the 60s/70s. They were filming at the church in the cemetery. That’s what I was told. You might need to check all the films 😅

That looks so much fun! I would love to do a 2D1N stay there as well but all the tickets I've seen available are round trip on the same day. There's seem ti be no option to choose a returning date on the following day. How do I book a ticket if I'm doing a 2D1N staycation at the tiny house? Do I still purchase are round trip ticket on the same day then buy another ticket at the Lazarus pier on the day that I'll be back? Do I need to book that in advance? I would greatly appreciate your advise! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
Hello! Are you talking about the ferry tickets? When you go to the counter to get your ticket you just buy one and then tell them you’re staying over at the island at the tiny stay and then use the same ticket the next day 😀

I went lazarous during the rediscover voucher. Those regular goers are so uncivilised. Throwing cig butts and what's not....
And there's too many ants for a picnic 😅😅😅
We did use sunscreen - in the video Jonty even talks about re-applying more. But alas, the sun is strong and we should have been more careful. We had noticed that the people who seemed like regulars looked after the island - we didn’t spot any litter either! 😊😊

It’s fine - the bugs are few and far between! Aspen just liked the novelty of the place - as did we all! Heheh

Can I encourage you to take trip sometime? There is a new little store there now and a few water sports activities. Kusu is also worth the stop off when you take the boat back.

Haha I’ve watched Austin powers several years ago. Very funny, I’m not sure they’d be as good if I watched them now as an adult 😆 Daniel Craig is a different kind of cool though.
I do wish that just once Singapore could resist need to build on everything! Ok these are just a few eco lodges, but it will just be the start. Before you know it there will be shops, food stalls etc etc and the peace and unspoiled environment will be lost forever. Lazarus will be as overdeveloped and artificial as Sentosa.
Agree. Enjoy while it lasts. Singapore simply cannot leave unspoiled nature alone. Everything has to be developed. Its idea of greening up the country is to cut down the jungles and build green manicured lawns and gardens. OMG!

I do hope that this island is kept more off grid and natural, I think that’s it’s strength.
