We are an older nomadic couple, over that 60 mark lol and we wait for your episodes each week, but the reason for my comment is don't ever feel that you need to explain your choices or why you have made them, you guys are living your best life and that is all that matters. Often people get a little green, when they see people doing well. Now if you lose a few followers because of your choices, don't worry the Toyota fans will soon make up the numbers tenfold. We don't have a Toyota or a titanium but love your adventurers and you have inspired us oldies to go places and push ourselves that bit further, so for that thank you.

Hey guys regarding your stop start issue as a mechanic the first thing I would be getting checked is that the brake controller has been connected properly, wife also works for a Toyota dealership, not uncommon for the wrong brake signal wire to be used which can cause issues, hope it’s something simple 👌

Could also be that the house battery in the caravan is charging from the Prado and this is causing the Prado to think that it needs to start to keep the system voltage up. Try unplugging the van and see if it behaves different.

I really enjoy your videos and how you share your experiences of living on the road. I am appalled on what happens in the comments from time to time on your videos. Please don't feel the need to defend your decisions; it's your life and like all of us you learn as you go and what's great about the two of you is that you go to great pains to share your lessons so that some of us can also learn from what you have learned. Thank you for enduring the internet trolls... if you can try to tune them out..
I am looking forward to more videos and seeing how you go with the new truck. Please keep updating on your adventures and look forward to next weeks BOGGED episode already!

The Prado is a great choice, we have a Prado and no issues. Toyota even recalled our Prado out of warranty to change the DPF.
I would suggest a catch can and fuel filter (due to bad fuel & cost of pump/injectors) first to guard your investment.
The drive train has proven reliability. Mines run Prados for years and are still buying them.
I want to see how you go with mods as these are early with after market.

Wow look at headline about fuel guzzler and after double speed watch nothing about actual fuel usage. Wow put up the sucker headline about fuel consumption except one comment a minute in, then give us tripe for next 30 minutes., with no real recap on useage. Thanks for making sure I never click on one of your videos again.
Call a clip fuel usage then give me real information 😡

Get rid off that 0w/20 engine oil in there and put a 5w/30 or 5w/40 heavy towing in hot heat needs something thicker. There was a guy on youtube that did a big end bearing in his 2022 prado towing his caravan at only 30,000km.

FYI, I too got lucky at a regional dealer & got a LC300 in 4 day in Feb 2023, when there was a 2 year wait. Toyota has the biggest dealership thoughout Australia. Don't stress the haters, you guys are on the road daily. Toyota for the win. Highly recommended ARB & again nationwide dealership .

Interesting y'all, that landcruiser only comes with a hybrid 2.4 gas engine here. It's having a few issues here but not like the tundra with the 3.4 gas v6, that are having 100,000 engines replaced. That diesel consumption towing that little trailer seems reasonable. On a trip to Aussie 15yrs ago, towing a similar trailer, in a head wind at your Pilbara, our rented v6 diesel jeep got 26litres. Lucky we had a coupla jerries with us.
God dam, ill never forget when we crossed the nullabour, there was a dead camel on the side of the road, when we passed it a bloody dingo emerged from its abdomen, absolutely covered in guttz and gore. Really freaked my misso out y'all.

Hey guys, nice vlog yet again!
Firstly I agree with Jake on the gear thing (sorry Lil😂) but like most of us guys all the stuff we carry is for the greater good, the tools the recovery’s and the repairs, and of course we need to wear clothes so that’s a selfish stash! 😂
Don’t stress about your fuel economy just yet as the 250 is only 3000k old and still tight, and the driving you are doing will bed that baby in well. And at the end of the day it is what it is.
I think as someone else mentioned, get the tow pro wiring checked out, as if not wired quite correctly can cause some weird stuff on new cars these days. And the suspension JAKE for god sake put in the Old Man Emu BP51 suspension! You will not regret it as it is beautiful stuff, I’ve had many different brands like yourself but the BP stuff is next level mate. 😎

What’s your tyre pressure at? Try putting your tyre pressure up higher to the higher limits of the tyres to lessen rolling resistance and it will better your fuel economy for the bitumen. Do the van also. Other surfaces you need to be carful as the tyres won’t have the softness to absorb rocks etc on dirt roads, which is why you lower your pressure for rocky roads.

O you guys are taking us on a nice journey. Personally we cant believe you opted to buy a vehicle with so much less space, its going to be a challenge not only your space issue but all the things you are going to modify on your new vehicle, coping with the electronics etc.
Already some electronic gremlins, it sounds like its possibly introduced.
😂😂😂😂 I cant use the correct word I would like to but freck all the negative people that have something to say about your new vehicle, its your money and your choice and we respect it and we love how you are trying to cope with it and I know your heads are buzzing with ideas how you are going to make it work and cant wait to see your solutions.
Guys you need to blank all outside holes its not hard we bought everything from Bunnings and a irrigation specialist for under $100.
LiL you need this product for your cold sores Elovax this is a preventative measure, we dont travel without it Rene gets cold sores in the sun, she can feel that tingle in her lip you get one or two days before the cold sore pops out and the takes it the moment that tingle appears and no actual cold sore.
Keep those episodes coming and thank you for your hard work.

Love you guys and your videos. Never lost any trust in you guys quite the contrary. You guys call a spade a spade so trust your recommendations. The haters and nay naysayers are just jealous. They are sitting at home going to their 9-5 jobs wishing they could be doing what your doing, please don't listen to them. Your content shows what is like to live on the road, the good the bad and the ugly, so keep it coming because I for one love it.

Hey guys love your show but just wanted to let you know for next time. The Eyre Hwy is not the Nullarbor. The Nullarbor is an arid section of land stretching from central South Australia like a giant triangle down to the Bite, pointy end down. You only actually cross it for about 200k while travelling through South Australia 👍

Stop start is probably interacting with the air conditioning in your car to maintain the cabin temperature. They have that feature in Mercedes so the engine starts to keep the air-conditioner running to keep the cabin temperature stable.

Hey Jake, I know it's a stock Prado, but it does look a bit nose high. There's a good chance the extra wind resistance will make it chew through the fuel quicker - Have you considered Airbags in the back coils to level it up?

Use your bananas to make an omelette.

Ha ha, what a rant, justifying the Prado. I don’t agree with most of it, but hey, it’s your ride, don’t try and justify it to others. Just enjoy upgrading it, lift kit and all the other accessories you need. There’s a few more dollars yet going into that $86k base price.

if your using 0W-20 oil in the Prado, find the nearest mechanic & swap it for 5W-30 or 5W-40 oil. Prado engines, especially if they're working hard, eg towing a van into a head wind, are overheating/siezing because the 0W-20 oil is to thin !

Stop start. If you firmly push the pedal it should stay off. If you lighten the brake pedal pressure (just enough to stop the car rolling on) it will start again if it's like our SUV we had. Also a hack if you were pulling upto a roundabout and didn't want it to cut out, just stop and immediately just use light pressure to hold the car and it won't shut off. Push a little harder and shuts down.
Like another comment, could be to do with the brake controller. Especially if it's happening when the van is hooked up.
Seen a few videos talking about the 60kg boot limit. That's for the cover over the battery under the 3rd row seats. It's no big problem removing those seats and the cover and installing a false floor for a lower and flat boot floor. Get rid of that horrible box.
