The instructions weren't very clear so I was thinking i was going to have to undo them from the pins to adjust the hieght! You saved me extra and unnecessary trouble 😂❤❤❤
Should be using the spring seat perch to adjust ride height, and adjusting the shock body to set the engagement of the bump stop to prevent any contact with bodywork/suspension
Not on this style of coilovers. The spring perch is set to a certain preload and generally stays put give or take a very small increment. Approx 1/4” of preload on these. I’d imagine you can give or take a few mm without ill effects but if you have bump stop engagement issues , proper coil weight swap and or dampening or valving adjustments will need to be made. The body to lower mount adjustment would be for ride height adjustment. She did it right on the money as a whole assuming her preload was previously properly set. As far as strictly a tutorial on ride height adjustment for these coilovers it couldn’t be more perfect 👍
@@chadwickwicky67 This is just false. Spring perch for ride height adjustment, shock body to lower mount for bump stop engagement height. There are a lot of good resources out there, although only a small amount of these are correct. Try looking at Annex suspensions TH-cam video on bump stop height.
I will definitely look into that. I know there are some styles of coilover designs that are adjusted that way. I would never have figured my Fortune Auto 500’s would be. @@arcanevoid9199yaaaa just to let you know, most cheaper coilovers do not have separate ride hight and preload adjustments. When you lower the height it stiffens the spring, and vice versa. Shouldn't you change length of coilover only to make sure bump stop works corectly and nothing hits at full bump and then use spring seat collar to set ride height by adjusting preload?
I was going to comment on how nice that MR2 looks also. This is the incorrect way of adjusting ride height. I too have been mis informed. The spring perch is actually the one used to adjust ride height. The shock body perch, the one you just adjusted, is used to adjust for shock travel, meaning you set up it up first with no spring making sure the bump stop hits first rather than the wheel hitting the frame. Also it will allow for the suspensions dampers to actually work the way it was meant to.
