I did the swap in my first gen s10 used same trans u did I had the 9 in tailshaft first and it crapped the bed so I have the short tail shaft now , I love my truck it’s so much fun to drive after a long day at work, hope you enjoy yours like I have mine man
Thank you I hope to be able to enjoy it sooner than later. Did you use your stock driveshaft in your truck? I was planning to use mine but think it might be too short.
I had to have my stock shaft lengthened 3 inches I think but with 9 in tailshaft you can use stock shaft .. I ended up going to junk yard and getting another shaft and having that one made to fit short shaft so I have 2 Incase trans goes out I can swap back to the 9 inch shaft and keep it moving
Hi my name is Mike I'm doing a swap from a 2.5 motor to a 350 small block and turbo transmission did you have to pound up on the floor to get your transmission in please let me know thank you
I did not change the front springs actually. This truck was a 4.3 v6 originally so in my mind I figured the extra weight going to a sbc wasn't alot more than that weighed originally and shouldn't cause problems. Let's hope it won't 🤞
My plan for that was to use the stock pump hanger and from there I used a piece of submersible fuel hose as a pick up in place of the factory pump and have an adaptor from the hard line that converts to AN hose/fittings. I have a video on my channel that I did that has what I'm going to be using parts wise.
I will have to get a new drive shaft unless I can find a local place that can modify my factory one. Eyeballing it looks to be 3 or 4 inches too short. I haven't actually measured it yet though. I want to swap the ujoint on it also so I can use a 1350 one going to the rear.
I have a diagram I found online or on an s10 Facebook group awhile back I've been using as guidance for that stuff. I was hoping I could've put it in the comments for ya to use but it won't let me paste it.
The one on this motor is a summit brand I believe. I bought it a few years ago so I can't remember for sure but on summit racing ICT billet appears to have one just like it now part number ICB-551411.
Nice job man. Digging the look. Can’t wait to c the finished results.

Great job .. Love to see how the gas lines came from gas tank sender unit and go to mechanical pomp and then carburetor. . Thanks

Hi Mike! Yes I did have to pound the floor up in the trans tunnel in a couple places and right at the firewall also to get everything to sit right.
Upgrading to a heavier engine and transmission package, did you go to larger front coil suspension springs?

What did you do about the fuel tank to make it work

installing a v8 in a s10 by yourself is a task
Yes it most definitely was.
Did you have to have a custom drive shaft made to mate your TH350 to your 8.8 rear? thanks

I just did a 87 S10 Tahoe blazer I'm running into can't find wires to get power to ingition cut lights brake light and etc please help

Would love to hear about the „issues“
How did you do your shift linkages
What are you do with the factory wireless? How do you hook it up?
What kind of tie rod system did you use for the alternator adjustment?
I have to do the same thing.
Thanks

What kind of tube control arms are those and where can I find them
Speedway Motors is where those came from. They're the GM stock car control arms with steel cross shafts instead of aluminum
@@304customsgarage thanks
Good video learned a lot
What about the trany cross member ?
I used a summit one made for s10s, appears to be the same as a GForce
Was your oil pan anything special to fit? Or just a standard oil pan?
No it's actually just a stock style replacement I had. It fit and I didn't have to cut/notch/modify anything on the truck to fit it.
@@304customsgarage This is good info. you are a huge help in that you answer questions in addition to the great videos. thank you
Always willing to try to help someone with stuff if I'm able and answer questions if I can.

How do you like the th350?
Well I haven't got to try it out yet but hopefully it'll work well with this combo
First thing I do is cut the ears off the transmission.. gives you more room
I did end up doing that myself for the space, lesson learned for next time.
Dowel pins are what they are called.
What kind of steering box you going to use
I'm planning to use the factory one
What trans mount u used?
Energy suspension poly mount 3.1108G is the one I'm using in this. I'll be releasing a video soon touching on that topic again.
I purchased same one and it works perfect
