I live in michigan and im trying to find a nice low mileage clean one. I cant find almost any for a reasonable price i sure wish they made them again, better than new ones in my opinion.

I'm digging these archived episodes from the best years of the tech shows on TNN and Spike TV. Trucks! was always my favorite by far but project SuperNova on HorsePower was awesome while simultaneously happening along side to the Copperhead build Stacy did. I'd love to see that series and the Crazy Horse bronco build

Me & my cousin use to sneak back to the tv room @ church on Sunday’s & watch these episodes! This is what made want an xtreme & worked my butt off the entire summer & my dad got me one! Exactly like this except black with a 4.3
@@Lu-e hell no man,i did a LT1 swap back when this show had aired,i did mine in 98,and i had a 5 speed and omg it was super fast,i blew away mustangs,camaro's,ss impalas pretty much everything,so now ive got a 05 2 door blazer i put a 6.0 with cam in it last summer got it tuned made 384 to the tires and i dont know where that power is going but that 300 hp LT1 would smoke this blazer man,it was fast as hell,mine was out of a 96 vette supposedly.but yea im really upset with my blazer 400 hp under the hood and wheres it all going,same 5 speed set up.hmmm oh well....
@@onewheelup How did the S10 5speed hold up to V8 power. A friend has a early 90's Blazer with a ZZ3 crate 350. His truck has a 4L60 from a V8 vehicle. Now the weak link is the rear axle. He's had this Blazer for about 10yrs now. The axle has been replaced at least 4 times. His wife says no more burnouts or hard launches because she's tired of spending $$ on it. Pretty sure that the transmission has been replaced a couple times too. I was just curious as to how your 5 speed held up to V8 power because I have an extra one for mine. My truck is on its 3rd transmission and it only has 200k on it. I left mine stock,I think it too clean to start chopping on.& I drive it every day .Shifter is kinda knotchy in those trucks. You had a NVG3500 transmission,right? Some 4.3L trucks came with the NVG 1500 also.
XD brand new sad 20 years has passed already boy how time has passed I remember watching this when I was five and six with my dad as a boy sparking my interest in trucks and cars and boy dad couldn’t be more proud of me now ,miss those sundays with my dad I spike tv
These guys always killed me. Today we're going to do a nearly impossible job that normally takes 12 hours in 45 minutes and have no problems what so ever. Loved this show!
So nostalgic, feels like a lifetime ago. We sure have come a long ways in 20 years. An LT1 is nothing but a boat anchor nowadays and even that's giving it a lot of credit.

Sadly, many of the projects that were new from the factory were crushed after. This one was no exception along with big orange which was the z71 with tracks on it

@@Onewheelordeal look up the recap episode. Circa 2005-2007. He was on gearz and had recapped projects. Like, big orange, wicked willy's, the blazer, copperhead and others and he specifically mentioned this and big orange

About 6 year ago I put a 5.7 vortec into a 2000 Blazer Zr2. Used the s10 stock ecm, just added a couple wires for the 2 extra injectors and the ecm found them on the crank relearn. Headers, modified for the egr, Corvette radiator. Used the stock 4L60E. Had to run the steering through the headers too. We had to pass state emission which made it a pain. This truck looks a lot better shape then the Blazer I did.
I feel like these guys aren’t even trying they’re just thoroughly enjoying the process of removing an engine and putting a new one in there pretty funny to
What sad is that even if someone decides to slam the new Canyons/Colorado's and go "mini truck" era. The proportions are just wacky for modern day standards.
Love to see these episodes from when I was a teen, some of my favorite shows. Swapping in one of those stupid gen 2 LT1s makes me cringe though. The Opti-spark was such a mistake and I hated dealing with it.

It’s easier to pull the inner fenders attached to the fenders. The abs pump brackets are bolted from underneath to the inner fenders too. Idk what he was pretending to unbolt? lol. I’d rather have that 2.2 then that LT1! I have an S10 with original 460,000 miles on it. I’ve owned the truck since 18,000 original miles!! I’ve replaced everything around it! but as long as you change the coolant and oil regularly and never run hot or low on oil I’m starting to think they’re immortal funniest thing is that 2.2 is worth MORE then that LT1 too! lol.
As for myself, I'd left the front springs in place. If the stock V6 has iron heads but the V8 swapped in has aluminum heads,there's really not enough weight difference to be worth the trouble.Jusy my opinion though.
I hadn't had cable in many years, and was confused by the 4:3 aspect ratio, how good that S10 looked, and why they were bothering with an old LT1. Then I saw the news on the "new" Tahoe, and fondant clued in! Also was thinking Stacey David hasn't aged at all.
Not gonna lie taking off the inner fenders is over kill, sure it gives u more room but at the same time, it takes longer to re assemble every thing in the long run.
Actually mike want to put 2 turbos or prostreet chargers on that engine, probably need a shot of notorious with it! Still will have a problem on the 1/4 mile strip to the 350 reg
These are very old episodes but some have never seen them . guys you could take some lessons on swapping a v8 into a s10 . we have done sbc , bbc , ls with all off the shelf parts and not hack up truck.

LS platform is the better engine in my opinion.....LT1 are decent but the optispark is its downfall
They pulled the motor in less than 5mins.... that’s crazy quick.

Benton Hart the lt1 was also the name of a small block option in early 70s corvettes. So they have used the LT1 name 3 times now.

In this instance the Edelbrock shocks weren't an upgrade when dealing with a zq8 suspension.

I got a 93 Firebird with the same setup motor and trans if u rebuild the trans and add everything vette inside it will fly
