  • This is going to be a small series of our Blue S-10. We previously purchased this vehicle and have since removed the 2.8 V-6.
    We will install a SBC 350 with Hedman long tube headers , Trans-Dapt mounts , TH 350 , G Gorce Transmission Crossmember and document current build.

    With long tube headers you have to make sure your wheels are pointing straight when idling

      hmmmm , no. I don't get the reference. I do know on sharp right turns I have a header tube touching the crossmember slightly and causes a vibration. My mounts have settled and headers are close to touching in a couple places. Hope this helps!

    I also notice you are using -6 transmission cooler lines I had issues with the top one on mine pointing straight at the trans tunnel I had to finesse my trans tunnel a little bit to keep it from touching LOL just on the top-6 tranny line was the only one I've had issues with and with the transmission dipstick it went like butter it was easy as can be I used an aftermarket steel braided trans dipstick

    No getting off easy when installing long tube headers on a 1st gen sbc in a s-10, i'll be facing the grim reaper soon when I install my 2" primary tube fenderwell headers on my 1st. gen in my 94 Sonoma, luckily guys have gone before me so their is You Tube help available along the way to get the exhaust wrapped around the frame.

    Did you use a after market floor shift or use the shifter on the column?

      I had to use a floor shift , was not able to use the column shifter.

    It's really not that difficult all you do is bolt 2.8 frame mounts directly to your frame in those three holes they won't write in you have to grind a little ears off of the 2.8 mounts at the bottom then you bought your trans dapped mounts to your engine and it will sit right in place I used my same crossmember that came in my truck with a 4.3 V6 I used my same transmission that went behind the V6 and I also used my same drive shaft that came in the truck originally and I have had no issues I have been daily driving my truck for a year-and-a-half with no issues you can actually see it on my channel I drive it everyday

      Your truck looks good , I have actually seen it before. I would have bolted the 2.8 mounts to the frame if I was running the short headers like yours and I could have used the factory driveshaft as well without needing to cut it down but these headers would need alot more denting. The set up I have moves the engine up slightly and back. Thanks for the comments and I will watch your build progress , its always fun looking at other builds!!

      @@jaysgarage3616 yeah mine's been finished and driving it's a street truck I drive it everyday it has been finished about a year-and-a-half but there was still be more footage of it I'm always changing stuff out but it has been dependable for a year-and-a-half other than I had to change the transmission

    • @jaysgarage3616

    • @jaysgarage3616
      @jaysgarage3616  ปีที่แล้ว

      @richardkishbaugh3784 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok thanks just trying to find ones that won't interfere with the headers I have the same ones you do an was looking for that starter cuz I see yours fit in there nicely

    Where did u get the headers from sir???

    • @jaysgarage3616
      @jaysgarage3616  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought them used from Facebook , they are available on Summit , Jeg's etc. The mounts for these headers came from Summit , as a package it worked out quite well. I actually drive the truck daily , until we get our first dump of snow.🙂
