I started using this product 3 weeks ago. To be quite honest I did purge horribly around the 2 week mark just like you said. but like any good skincare, this product will first cause a purge if your pores were really congested and had traces of previous breakouts deep under the skin. Now at the 3 week mark the purge is almost cleared up and my skin is looking extremely radiant. I use it daily. @@ArsalanAspires you do it perfect doc 👏🏻👍🏻🤓 - and what İ love of your content, you don’t show the sun as a devil.. like many derma docs., they literally let the people thinking the sun is the destructor of their skinhealth.. But the reality is - in southern countries the people don’t use sunscreen cremes, and have 45 Grad hot sun, and they don’t get skincanser like the western people who want’s to avoid sun, and run away from that.. Still skincanser and the sunspots have also the western people.. That paradox have only 1 explanation: in southern countries the people eat so much healthier, so much fruits and vegetables and almost in bio quality.. I didn’t travel to my home country Turkey for the past 3,5 years, and stood in Germany there İ live, but travel minimum once a year for many weeks to Turkey.. And this year İ had a so painful wind and sunburn.. I was never before sensitive to the sun or wind, and never use before suncreen… İ’am 39, the people thought İ was 28 .. All my cousins in their 25-30 noticed the same, we all became hairloss wrinkles and sensitive skin.. Because of corona we avoid traveling to Turkey.. Now we regret it so much 🙂.. I will say, we eat in the weeks than we were in Turkey so much fruits and vegetables, sea, sun, swimming.. even 45 grad hot weather (Antalya,Denizli/Turkey), and we had so strong skins and hairs.. İt’s not the sun, it’s the don’t existing vitamins and minerals etc. in the import fruits in Germany/Western countries that makes ours skinhealth and hairhealth/bodyhealth weak.. For example in Turkey we have our own grape plantages, and eat so much direktly from the plant, watermelon etc.. very long list, salats, meat, fish etc.. And so much RESVETEROL in this grapes.. and for the wintertime we made every year our grapeextraktion, wich is loaded with iron, resveterol etc too.. But because of corona no traveling not eating this hole palette of vitamins and minerals .. What you eat is what you wear, what you are.. My grandmas never use sunscreen and worked on plantages without any sunspots and sunburn either.. Without sun there was no live, and all things depends on sunshine.. To make the sun as a devil, or the reason of all skinissues are a huge cosmetic endustrial propaganda.. Look at the southern countries, they couldn‘t never buy the sunscreen cremes because how expensive they are, and they have much more healthier skin, hair, bodyhealth.. That‘s the reality check - that so much sponsoring dermadocs not wanna see 🤓 Before I had never dry Eye, or any eyepain.. but I had it in the last mounths too.. Now I eat no fabricated things, and go every day to our little garden, and eat green plantages and only healthy things, everything got better, but still I need to travel in the vacation time to Turkey, to get back my immunsystem that strengthens everything- skin, hair, eyes.. My gradfather is 94 years, he don‘t use any kind of medication or sunscreen, he worked all his live on his plantages to grow fruits, vegetables etc..The consuming of fruits and vegetables are so important, grapes very important.. See everything in that serums are Vitamins, and minerals etc.. why ? because they are not in our foods in western countries.. Chips, frigerate meals, packaged foods… Greetings from munich, sorry for my bad english 🤓
I'm getting ready to start trying liquid exfoliators. Been hearing about this one, but there's now a new one. Apparently the new is mandolin & lactic acids. Would love detailed comparison ❤
When do you put on toner? Cleanser, toner, exfoliant and then eye cream/ moisturizer, sunscreen? Or Cleanser exfoliant, toner, eye cream/moisturizer and sunscreen?
I was using this product for years and I stopped for the last two or so and was using Perricone, but then I came back to it and the bottle isn't white anymore, it's this gray shade and when I shook it up and put on my face, it burned like fire and smelled like pure VINEGAR....did they change the formulation of this??? I have very strong skin, it's never been sensitive and a I could actually put pure vinegar on my face with no problem, expecting the burn, but this doesn't seem like the same product anymore... it used to be a little bit oily and smooth going on and now it's just dry like vinegar and it smells like it, so I'm wondering if the formulation was completely changed? Anyone? Edited to say this wasn't purchased directly from Paula's Choice and I came to find out it was filled with something different so it was counterfeit I purchase this again in the great bottle from Paula's and it's fantastic!
I’m a “more is more” kind of gal so I always overdo it. With that being said, although I had pimples, I have very dry skin and I found Tretinoin was the best for me and a BHA is just too drying for me. I recently started adding an AHA
OMG. One night I applied this lightly under my retin A. My skin was so pretty the next day!! I admit there was some fire involved but my skin looked so pretty😂 I haven't tried that again. I've found with regular use of this and vit c in morning and retin A with a good night cream works. I still want smaller pores though!

Thanks for your question! Yes, it should be used after cleansing. Secondly, there is a few ways you can then incorporate your vitamin c serum with it. The first way in my opinion, is applying the product then giving gap of 30 minutes, then applying your vitamin c serum. Any time you use skincare products with a pH gap greater than or equal to roughly 1.0 to 2.0, you can choose this approach. The second way is to minimize the risk of inflammation, by applying at different times of day. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and protects against free radicals, so you can use it in the morning to protect you against most free radicals during the course of the day, and then the BHA exfoliant at night, after cleansing. I hope this helps!
Excellent video... I was prescribed Dermalogica clearing wash, age bright serum, spf 30 oil free matte, active moist and Paula's Choice 2% BHA Exfoliant but is unsure the order and when to use the Exfoliant.
Hi! I loved the video ❤ Do you have any tips on using it for the debaceous filaments? Is there something to make it have a better effect? Thank you in advance!!
Hey there! I made a video on sebaceous filaments below. th-cam.com/video/kAo43lFee3I/w-d-xo.html Products containing salicylic acid can help exfoliate the skin and reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments. Also, you can use a Bentonite or kaolin clay mask as it can help absorb excess oil and temporarily reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments. Use these masks once or twice a week to help.
You need to start slow, use it once every two days on evening, then layer it with a heavy moisturizer, or if you're using light moisturizer then layer it again with sleeping mask
Thanks for your question. If you’re experiencing skin purging, most should still continue using the products and adhere to their skin routine unless of course an allergic reaction takes place or anything that warrants you to stop.
Super helpful video! Would you advise against using this with retinol? I'm using Paula's choice 1% retinol once a week as of now. Would it be ok to add bha into my routine on a day that I'm not using the retinol?
Esthetician here, typically aha and bha products are to harsh if you are using a retinol so be cautious, use it once a week on the off day from retinol, putting both on will be too harsh typically
It’s completely safe to use on the day you aren’t using retinol or any other actives. I use Paula’s choice 2% bha & 1% retinol too. I just don’t use on same routine.
@@jibbo123 yes, just be sure you are being cautious around the thin and more sensitive parts of your face like your eyes and around your mouth and nose and listen to your skin if it needs a break and start slow
As a skincare addict. I learned that all the active ingredients, not only Salicylic acid, is a little overwhelming for a new user. But if ur skin eventually got used to these, they became harmless at all. Its all about how you slowly incorporate them and introduced them to your skin. The purging part is natural and expected. A little sacrifice on that part until ur skin becomes accustomed is rewarding. Trust me. When youve been using active ingredients on your skin for quite sometime, you can never go back. Plus, active ingredients are the ones that can drastically change your skin. The other stagnant ingredients are just merely supporting ones. Salicylic acid isnt even the most potent active ingredients there. Salicylic acid is the only BHA and BHA is milder than AHA acids (which comprises of a lot more acids). Plusssss, ever heard of Retinol? Purging from Retinol is like 100% expected and even worse, that some brands formulate it at certain percents depends on your skin needs and tolerability. But surpassing the purging part from it is 100% worth it in the end. 🤍🙌

As a guy I can’t directly speak to your experience but I do cleanse in the morning as well ..n I use PC clear choice cleanser (more salicylic acid) n I’m just fine Also often times I workout in the morning so after sweating I have to cleanse regardless
Can you please tell me what moisturizer is good to use after the Paula's choice exfoliant. Name it please? I want to use this product at night, and is this okay?
What are you supposed to do when your purge? Pick it or just keep applying and it will go away? I'm assuming the second answer but not picking it is sooo hard.
Is this better than Tretinoin? I am using both, and the purging is unending. I think I just need to pick one or the other, but tretinoin doesn't seem to be doing much, where as this stuff makes my skin clear in days.
Tretinoin does a lot more heavy lifting in the long run with consistent use, example: fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen and reducing MMP's that breakdown collagen. Using both can be really harsh on the skin. How long have you been using both?

I was getting frustrated because of how difficult it was to layer the rest of my routine. The bha was taking FOREVER to sink in. I guess I was using too much of it. Thanks!
On Paula’s choice website they say you don’t have to wait for it to absorb, it will still work if you put moisturizer and sunscreen on top
For me it doesn’t maybe Ure putting too much.
Very valuable tips. Just ordered this product and I’m trying it now for the first time. 😊
Wonderful!
If you have sensitive skin. Start once or twice a week no more otherwise your skin will go red.
Thank you for all the tips. I wish I had seen this video before I returned the product. I used it for about a week, it made my skin peeling and drying.I had this burning sensation.
It’s just so expensive. I bought the small version for $10 and it feels like I got scammed. Didn’t expect it to be so tiny
Bro it's cheap tho i buy it for $25 HAHAH 🤩💔
Just buy the big one it lasts well over a year since you're not supposed to use much of it
Paula’s Choice is my holy grail
Awesome!
i used it a long time ago and really saw a noticeable difference in my nose unfortunately it ran out faster than my cleanser and I was having financial hardships so I stopped using it.
Are you better now financially or do i need to help you?
@@haryanapower6738 that’s sweet of you

Thanks a lot for explanation, your spechspeed is perfect, don’t speed up, so much skincare docs and influenzer speak so fast, that İ don’t want to listen them anymore.
I like your speechspeed very much, and your explanationstyle, with the photos and evidences of studies.

I appreciate your feedback. I try my best to meet in the middle.
That‘s the reality check - that so much sponsoring dermadocs not wanna see 🤓
Before I had never dry Eye, or any eyepain.. but I had it in the last mounths too..
Thank you so much for this. I washed mines off after applying. Now I know 😅

This exfoliating product is the only product that works for my daughter
I'm getting ready to start trying liquid exfoliators. Been hearing about this one, but there's now a new one. Apparently the new is mandolin & lactic acids. Would love detailed comparison ❤
Great idea! I’ve talked about mandelic acid on the channel. But it would be nice to compare those two. Good one.
When do you put on toner? Cleanser, toner, exfoliant and then eye cream/ moisturizer, sunscreen? Or Cleanser exfoliant, toner, eye cream/moisturizer and sunscreen?
Thanks! I loved this BHA, then I switched and I regret it!
I'm switching back ASAP
Thank you I really appreciate you making this video ❤
You are so welcome!
Very good explanation of this product! I've been using it for awhile and love it.
Can I use it regular?
only product that has helped my skin!
That’s awesome to hear! 😃
I knew I was using it wrong and had to some research cause I started flaking I’ll come back with an update after these tips
How did you go?

👋🏽Hi from Canada 🇨🇦 excellent explanation of product 👍🏾
OMG. One night I applied this lightly under my retin A. My skin was so pretty the next day!! I admit there was some fire involved but my skin looked so pretty😂 I haven't tried that again. I've found with regular use of this and vit c in morning and retin A with a good night cream works. I still want smaller pores though!
So, you're using the BHA as well as a Retinal? In his video he said to not also use acids.
omg i just bought this stuff and used like 10 drops everyday 2 week waiting what? but i don't see any irritation so far
Thats a good sign!
Great video !
I just bought it today. Will try this in the morning routine and Tretinoin at night. Hopefully this will help with my closed comedones and black heads 😢😢 been to the spa weekly for two years with lasers and other treatments but they just keep on coming every after week 😢😢
Update?
@@JadStorm my closed comedones are still there but my skin looks vibrant and glowing. probably extractions monthly will help
Wht's it's prize
@@khushi5831 hi :) depends on where you live i guess. Im currently working in Vietnam. I reckon you can start with the small bottle. Ive been using mine for a month and its not empty yet.
@@JadStorm @Jad Storm been using it for almost a month now. My pores are getting smaller, my whiteheads are shrinking and my skin face is glowing. My blackheads are easily come out on their own which I enjoy taking out using cleansing oil. I use it threes time a week. morning and evening together with a very light moisturizer and the ordinary oil in the evening. I also bought indian healing clay ( with facial steam) using them once a week to help with my closed comdones. I stopped going to the facial spa and trying this method out instead. Just try balancing them in your routine. My closed comedones was horrible before. I think ite getting better now. Im happy with the improvement.
When using at night, can you use moisturiser on top. Can you use vitaminC serum either at night or morning?
5:45 I just looked up what skin purging is… THATS A THING?!!
im going on 30 nothing has ever worked even dermatologist have prescribed things and they didn't work. i ordered the travel size 1oz just to try and let me say my skin is so sensitive NOTHING works but Paulas choice for some reason is clearing my fave in neck within 2 weeks never seen anything like it i wanted to cry. ive been insecure about my skin but now i dont have to use a filter im soooooo happy this + sunscreen omg life saver.
How many says a week do you use it?
Can you tell us how you started using ist please😊 so happy for you
Hi! Thank yoi for the video. How do I use this product in my routine? Should I use it after clean my face and before my vitamin c serum ? Thanks
Thank you so much for the answer @@ArsalanAspires
Of course! Wishing you utmost wellness.
I don’t have bad acne. I just have large pores.
Thanks for reviewing this!
Wow thanks for informing I’m using at night time it’s my first time I’m using.

Hey there! I made a video on sebaceous filaments below.
th-cam.com/video/kAo43lFee3I/w-d-xo.html
Products containing salicylic acid can help exfoliate the skin and reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments. Also, you can use a Bentonite or kaolin clay mask as it can help absorb excess oil and temporarily reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments. Use these masks once or twice a week to help.
This is the best stuff ever
This product is very good worked for me ,
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏽
Can I use a topical anti acne antibiotic with it ?
My skin is very oily..bt after using it like 4days my skin become soo dry and started peeling off.. is that normal? If it's not thn what should i do?
You shouldn't use it every day. Only 2-3 days a week in the evening and recovery serum would be nice to add
find a really good moisturizer for your face. cetaphil has great moisturizers
You need to start slow, use it once every two days on evening, then layer it with a heavy moisturizer, or if you're using light moisturizer then layer it again with sleeping mask
Can i ask when to used and steps to use of this product@@karlygashnurkhozhayeva5849

Great video, thank you! I have a question- do you still use this while your skin is purging or wait until it’s calmed down and resume using it again?
Thanks for your question. If you’re experiencing skin purging, most should still continue using the products and adhere to their skin routine unless of course an allergic reaction takes place or anything that warrants you to stop.
Super helpful video! Would you advise against using this with retinol? I'm using Paula's choice 1% retinol once a week as of now. Would it be ok to add bha into my routine on a day that I'm not using the retinol?
Do not use any aha or bha on the day you are going to use retinol
Esthetician here, typically aha and bha products are to harsh if you are using a retinol so be cautious, use it once a week on the off day from retinol, putting both on will be too harsh typically
It’s completely safe to use on the day you aren’t using retinol or any other actives. I use Paula’s choice 2% bha & 1% retinol too. I just don’t use on same routine.
@@kierstenbalko8098 can I use it with a benzoyl peroxide facewash?

BHA is milder than AHA??
Hey great video, i used it once and i got small bumps all over my face, should i keep using it or not??? I think i got skin irritation, but really wanna try it and benefit from it. Can you help
Good information thanks 👍👍👍🙏💜
It’s actually making my pores open more😮💨I’m trusting the process tho
Should I use the Aba Bha combo? I use Vanicream moisturizer, Supergoop sunscreen, Cetaphil gentle cleaner. Are these ok to mix with this product?
Can I use on dry skin ? Plus can you explain skincare layerings ?
Dr. Arsalan, can you review the ALPHA family of skin care products, thank you.

Nice review.
Can the product be used on highly sensitive skin?
I’m pretty sensitive and use it once a week on my forehead, along with dermalogica microfoliant on my whole face 1-2x a week
Thank you for this video. I have been using this product for 4 weeks now. Twice in a week , and I have been purging like crazy . I just realized that I’ve been using too much on my face but I’ll do the less is more trick . I’ll go for another 4 weeks to see if I’ll see any results .

Can you please tell me what moisturizer is good to use after the Paula's choice exfoliant. Name it please?
I want to use this product at night, and is this okay?
I love this product.
Can this be used while breastfeeding?
Can you use this if you are breastfeeding? I wish skincare products would include that disclaimer.
What are you supposed to do when your purge? Pick it or just keep applying and it will go away? I'm assuming the second answer but not picking it is sooo hard.
Any alternative for that product?
Can i use vitamin c serum with it
Is this better than Tretinoin? I am using both, and the purging is unending. I think I just need to pick one or the other, but tretinoin doesn't seem to be doing much, where as this stuff makes my skin clear in days.
Tretinoin does a lot more heavy lifting in the long run with consistent use, example: fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen and reducing MMP's that breakdown collagen. Using both can be really harsh on the skin. How long have you been using both?
Sometimes it's not purging it's irritating... purge doesn't last... you might want to simplify and go back to basics
Thanks a bunch!
