For someone who just got into skincare I am so glad I found your channel, I just love how thorough you are! I received the Paula's Choice exfoliant in my boxycharm a while back and never knew how to use it so it just sat there until now so Thank you so much for all this info!!
I’ve been using Paul’s choice morning and night and I have to say I’ve seen massive difference. My skins much more clearer and healthier. Def recommend!! I use the Ordinary 2 alpha arbutin twice a week after this toner and I’m loving it. 🥰
I really commend your no BS approach to skin care. Too much of misleading information out there on YT about what and what not to layer with exfoliants. I have seen incredible results with bha+ niacinamide one day and AHA + niacinamide other day. Paula choice team has put research based, science backed info on their website and I thank you for putting that well thought information on YT. Really enjoy your videos keep it up. You are helping lots of people. Cheers :-)
Thank you!❤️ Yeah, Paula's Choice has great articles on their website as well which are easy to understand, and when using certain combination, it will show some great results!😊
I been watching all the skin care routine for all the people not really helpful and details like Your explained very detail and make people more understand. Thank you.
That's a lot. 🥲 It has a high % of Niacinamide, and therefore less is more; as long as you can cover your entire face, it's enough; no need to apply more.
Hi there! Wonderful video, thank you so much for posting. 😊 I just wanted to add, I don’t personally think a moisturizer is an optional step because if you are going in with a cleanser and an exfoliant, (or even just a cleanser) the oil from your skin is being completely stripped, and if your skin doesn’t sense any hydration afterwards it is going to overproduce sebum and oil throughout the day. (Which will in turn just cause more buildup & breakouts on your face.) Even if you have SUPER oily skin, I personally still think moisturizing is a really important step in order for your skin to stay hydrated and healthy. Just thought I would add this fact for people that may not too much about skincare and would like the information!
Hello. 🙂 I have looked into this a lot. I see this differently. It's mainly about the skin type but also what a moisturizer really is. Some include greasier substances, and some do not. So we have moisturizers that only use hydration(for example, hyaluronic acid), and others use mineral oils or plant oils that sit on top and build a protective barrier. (Petrolatum, Silicons, Shea butter) If the skin's function of producing enough oil naturally is still working, we do not need to add more oils since it already acts as a protective barrier, and it could be the opposite of what we want to achieve. Also, there are some ingredients like Niacinamide that already protect against water loss. So why do we want to add a "moisturizer" afterwards"? You are not going to take nutritional supplements if you do not need them. ;) Or eat if you aren't hungry.(well okay some do 🤪) It's best to give the skin only what it needs, and it takes some time to figure this out; yes, and if you are new to it, it may be best to use a cream that includes everything to make it much easier. But if you do so, you do not need an exfoliant, treatment etc. But only Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer. And regarding the breakouts, if it were that easy, nobody would struggle with breakouts/acne anymore, and we would only need to follow the steps. Usually, people who struggle with acne/breakouts have other issues like hormones.(as I do) Or some struggle with diet, dirty water, and other factors. This is incredibly difficult to treat even for dermatologists. Also, I want to add that a lot of people promoting this already had beautiful skin before, use makeup or are not women, so they do not suffer from these issues. So they never had to deal with it. Edit: I want to add one more thing that when you use the exfoliant very often and do not use anything else, it may cause issues. (as you already wrote above) But when using it with care, it won't trip the skin of its moisture, and in this case, it depends on the skin condition/type you have. I feel like everyone should use them with care and do what feels best for their skin. Most people just overdo it. 😞
Melissa Van Dijk Hi!! Thank you so much for educating me, I didn’t know any of that! I am very new to skincare myself, so I’m definitely still learning every single day. 😊 I know that you are very knowledgeable when it comes to this topic, so may I ask about mixing the Paula’s choice exfoliant with The Ordinary Niacinimide product? I read that mixing the two can mess with the pH levels in your skin, (and cause acne) but there doesn’t really seem to be a conclusive answer to this. I currently use PC exfoliant 3 times a week at night (since I’m just starting out) and only use TO Niacinimide in the morning on the days I exfoliate. Is this the correct way to use these products? I really hope I’m doing it right because there’s just so much information out there, it gets tricky to keep track of everything!! 😆 Thank you so much!
@@ilvermorny5098 Some books talk about the different skin types and what they need, one I like is the skin type solution. You can read it if you want. But the main issue is clearly that a moisturizer is not a moisturizer. We have hydrating serums, gels, lotions, creams which include various ingredients. And most of the time, a hydrating serum or a gel is enough, and most serums already have the "moisturizing" ingredients. Some Hyaluronic Acid serums already include dimethicone, so there is no need to add anything else. Others have low molecular weight and can penetrate deeper into the skin etc. So it is just very individual, and to be honest, very confusing since every company has different approaches to this, and it's not clear. Otherwise, there would be only one approach to this. Yes, that's a controversial topic. The fact is that it can react when mixing them. So if you take a Niacinamide formulation and put it into your acid, they will most likely have a cross-reactivity (sooner or later). Niacinamide is converted to another substance that can lead to irritation (not sure about the process and how it's precisely called. Therefore, you need to ask a professional). Practically when both are used after another, the chances are unlikely that they interact with each other. The reason for this is because your skin already absorbed most of the acid before it even has a chance to react with the Niacinamide. Formulations play an essential role. Also, Niacinamide is never the only ingredient used in the formulation. Still, others stabilize it, and therefore it is even more unlikely that anything will happen when used on the skin. ((there are some newer studies showing that low pH Niacinamide formulations are more effective, so we will see how this plays out over the coming years) However, when you follow some influencers advice of using half a dropper and soaking your cotton pad wet with the acid, chances are very high that they interact. And even if something happens, it will not harm the skin, and it does not make the Niacinamide ineffective, but you can get some redness(flushing) which disappears after a while. You can also get this when the amount of Niacinamide, which is absorbed by the skin, is too high-so depending on what products you use before it may be because the % was too high. And if you have horrible luck and use them together and the skin absorbs too much, and you may have never used Niacinamide before, it can show irritation. But in this case, you still don't know why it has happened. It will not cause any breakouts. But again, if you have someone that has beautiful skin already, he/she can tell what he/she wants. I am not a professional, but I like to read and try the combinations to test them for weeks. Most people who promote it read stuff online do a video about it and do not test if it is even true. A specific company always pushes some narrative. (you know the 1ste article on Google always tells the truth, especially when it has vouchers and lots of affiliate links 😉) Anyway, you have to try it and see what's working best for you, and based on that, adjusted it. Try the combinations and if you are unsure, try a small area first and see what happens :) Or try it on your arms, legs etc 🙂
I'm always blown away by how you explain everything in such detail in your videos. Like, I feel like I get some much knowledge about the ingredients and how to layer them properly from your videos better than any other videos. Thank you so very much for that Melissa. Okay, I do have a question. Niacinamide or Vitamin C? 😂 Some people rave about vitamin c for its brightening properties and some race niacinamide for it being able to brighten and resurface the skin? Which is the best??? Also, if I'm using Paula's choice bha 2% in my pm routine, can I use niacinamide in my am routine?? So, cleansing, moisturizing and then niacinamide followed by sunscreen. Is that a good routine?? Also, could you please recommend some good sunscreen for deeper tone oily skin??
Hey again! :) Thank you!💕 Well, both are great ingredients but it depends on your skin concerns... What are your skin concerns? :) You can stick to one of them, or use both! You can get Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) or Vitamin C Derivatives serums. The Ordinary recommends keeping Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) and Niacinamide in separate routines, however, if you are using a Vitamin C Derivative, you can use it together with Niacinamide. So, you can use Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) in the AM and Niacinamide in the PM or vice versa - to enjoy the benefits of both! :) Or use Niacinamide and Vitamin C (Derivative) together in the same routine. If you are using a Vitamin C serum between 5%-15% of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), you can use it after PC 2% BHA. However, if you are using a higher strength of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), it's best to keep them separate as it may lead to irritation since the combination becomes too potent. You are fine to use Niacinamide and/or a Vitamin C (Derivative) serum in the same routine and after using PC 2% BHA.
I’m kinda new to skin care and this helped a lot 🤩 Small question- it might seem kinda dumb but honest question: what’s the difference between a toner and an exfoliate product and what “helps more”? And is it recommended to use the exfoliating product you used in the video for dry skin (especially for the first time ever using an exfoliating product)? Sorry if the questions sound kinda dumb but I’d appreciate it 😅 thank you so much!
It's a huge problem. And the industry seems to be very unsure about this. A toner is applied after the cleanser since the cleanser strips the skin of its essential oils. Therefore you should consider a replenishing (hydrating soothing toner) that gives the skin back its needs. An exfoliant removes dead skin cells on the surface (AHA), and a BHA can even unclog your pores, so basically it goes deeper into the skin. This is important because when you get older, your skins natural function to renew itself will become faulty or less effective. Therefore you can help it with your exfoliant (there are other factors such as sun damage etc., but this is just to get an overall idea.)
Listen MEL! I wanted to know everything you said! Hahaha. I just don't want to miss your vids. I was specifically interested in the routine ones though. I'm gonna peruse some more of your other vids. As usual, thanks for being you. Including being so available to us 🖤. (I'm also learning a lot from you in the telegram group.)
Hi , i'm using the Paul's choice bha liquid and after I'm using niacinamide10 from the ordinary , can i mix azelaic acid with the niacinamide and use it just after the bha liquid !? and thank you, ur videos are so helpful
I have really oily acne-prone skin. Could you tell me if my routine needs any changes? 1. CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser 2. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer How do I keep my skin from getting too oily throughout the day and do you know of a better moisturizer for my skin type? I want to add in the Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliant into my routine.
Well, depending on what you do during the day you will get oily, and you cannot solve the problem until you get older. But the best you can do is use oil-regulating products (for example, a mattifying moisturizer with Dimethicone) or a sunscreen that is mineral based. And you are already using a Salicylic Acid cleanser, so there is no need for Paula's Choice BHA; it is the same :) So use just one of them. Edit: BHA = Salicylic Acid
Hello! First of all i wanna say that I love your videos! I recently purchased azelaic acid, alpha arbutin and hyaluronic acid for my skin, because i have hormonal acne (my skin type is normal to oily). So i was wondering if the following order is correct: AM: - Cleanser - Hyaluronic acid - Alpha arbutin - Moisturizer - SPF PM: - Cleanser - Paula's choice BHA - Alpha Arbutin - Moisturizer - Azelaic acid Thank you in advance!!
This is very helpful. I was wondering how I could team up Paula's Choice 2% BHA with The Ordinary Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin. Thank you for letting me know about combining it with Niacinamide. Great Routine.
Yes, you can still use these products together! :) Of course, it also depends on your skin concerns and your tolerance to each product individually before using them together. :)
Hi i love your videos! Can you to let me know if this skin care routine is right and i have oily skin. Thank you Am: 1) La roche posay gel cleanser Paulas choice (every other day) 2) The ordinary Hyaluronic acid 3) The ordinary niacinamide 4)The ordinary moisturising factors HA 5)SPF PM: 1-4 and the ordinary lactic acid (maybe every other day)
Hey :) Your routine looks great! However, depending on how oily your skin is, using a moisturiser may not be needed! Some people with oily skin find that their skin is becoming oilier when using a moisturiser afterwards, especially when using the Ordinary one. Try it with and without a moisturiser and see what works the best for you! :)
Hi love you videos very helpful!❤️ I have 2 questions please: 1. After cosmetic face cleaning, my pores got those black heads again very fast! On chin and nose, I need to go every month to cleaning so it will stay clean and it’s a lot of money! Does the paula’s choice 2% bha can clean the pores like beautician can or I still be needed to go to professional cleaning? Is it like melting the dirt from the pores or just after cleaning it will save the result? 2. I use the ordinary products for skin care routine, in am and pm, I use alpha Arbutin + ascorbyl glocoside 12% in every morning and in 3 evenings I use niacinamide + retinol inkey list and 3 other evenings I use rose hip + Azelaic acid. Where can I use the bha 2% paulas choice so it won’t be irritating? I prefer somewhere in the evening ☺️
Hello :) Salicylic Acid works very slowly, and it seems to not work very well for Blackheads, even if it claims it. A lot of people struggle while using the product. However, you can try it but do not expect miracles! It will take weeks to see improvements; most studies I have read show results from 4-12 weeks. The exfoliant is applied after cleansing and/or toning. It's also not recommended to use it along with retinol (at least not initially when new to the product). Also, you should use sunscreen during the day since it can make the skin sensitive to sunlight. Having said all this, I think that you still need professional help, but it may improve it 🤷🏼♀️ You really need to test it.
I do not apply anything on my eyelids. Overall if a skincare product is not specifically formulated for the eye area, it is generally not recommended to apply it directly onto the eyelids. This is because the skin on the eyelids is thinner and more delicate than other areas of the face, and it can be more sensitive to certain ingredients found in skincare products. Using non-eye specific products on the eyelids can potentially cause irritation, redness, and inflammation. Additionally, some ingredients in skincare products can be too harsh for the delicate skin around the eyes, which can cause long-term damage.
I'm kinda new to skincare and I would like to include all the steps slowly, as of now I just started with below steps 1. Aha based cleanser(Glycolic Acid) 2. Paula's choice BHA exfoliant 3. Neutrogena hydro boost May I know if I can use PC's BHA after AHA cleanser?? Or do you want me to switch to different cleanser?
Very informative video! You explain a skincare routine very well and it is easy to understand what step comes when and why. I recently purchased PC BHA and am starting to incorporate it more often in my routine. However I want to purchase TO Niacinamide serum and am wondering if it is a good option to use them basically evey other day. So one night the PC + serum and in the next evening TC + serum. My skin is not that sensitive but I just dont want to mix them in one routine/day. Would you recommend this or I wont see good results this way? Also is it okay to use herb oil serums and not the standard ones after TC and PC?
Hey :) Thank you so much! There are different ways to use them :) You can use TO Niacinamide in the AM and PC BHA in the PM. Or use them on alternate days, or use them in the same routine (PM). There is not really a right or wrong. It's about what works best for your skin. You may want to start slowly and try it for some time before you are adjusting and may wish to use it more often :) If you are using a product less often, like instead of using it daily, you use it every other day, the only thing that may change is that it may take longer to see improvements but other than that, there is not much different. Have you already use that herbal oil before? If so, yes, that's fine. If not, I recommend doing a patch-test before using it all over :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you for the quick and detailed reply❤️yes I have been using the herbal oil (serum) for a month now and did not have any issues. I was just wondering if it would be okay to use it with chemical exfoliants and serums such as PC and TO.

Avoid using Mandelic Acid and PC BHA in the same routine. Use them on alternate days in your PM routine. As for the rest, yes, you can use them with PC BHA or Mandelic Acid.
Hi Melissa, I have a quick question about the Paulas choice 2% bha exfoliant.. in my skincare routine (pm routine) where should I add this bha exfoliant? @@akashvakharia6685 I recommend starting slowly since Paula's Choice 2% BHA is quite strong... Start with once per day every other day and slowly increase the frequency over time. You can use it daily once or twice per day which depends on your skin response to the product.
Hi Melissa, I have a question! I recently got the Paula's Choice 2% Bha Liquid Exfoliant and I’ve been wondering how and in which step I should include this into my skincare routine. Hey :) Use Paula's Choice BHA after cleansing in your PM routine! :) What's your skin type? Do you feel the need of using a moisturizer? Have you ever tried using not using one after your treatments to see how your skin feels during the day/night? Also, do you use the Effaclar Duo with Niacinamide or Benzoyl Peroxide? :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you Melissa for responding so quickly! ❤️ I used to have very bad cystic acne and had two accutane treatments in the past. The last one is about two years ago. My cheek, forehead and chin area tend to be dry so I feel like I do benefit from using a moisturizer for those areas. My nose can be pretty oily though. I have tried not using a moisturizer during the day a couple of times but then my skin feels dry and uncomfortable. I use the Effaclar Duo with Niacinamide.
@@pocketpeach892 Have you also tried using the Effaclar Duo all over your face instead of only using it on your T-Zone and instead of a 'richer' moisturizer? How does this feel? :) Or not using a moisturizer or duo at all on your T-Zone and just on the drier parts? :)

Hey :) How often you can exfoliate your skin depends on your skin concerns and tolerance. Some people can exfoliate daily while others prefer to do it less often. See what works best for you! :) Chemical Exfoliating products are preferred to be used in the evening, however, you can also use it in the morning but always follow with a sunscreen to protect the skin :)
My routine is 1.Sa renewing cleanser 2.Paula choice bha 3.ordinary niacenimide 4. Moisturizer And how would you recommend setting up and applying these
Hmm, the products are already in the correct order. But the SA cleanser has Salicylic Acid in it, and Paula's Choice BHA is also Salicylic Acid 2%. So you may want to keep them separate and use a gentle cleanser instead. And how often you can use the BHA depends on your personal tolerance for that product. Start with 2-3 times a week and slowly increase the frequency if needed.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet so you recommend using the bha twice per week night along with a gentle cleanser and use my normal sa cerave cleanser along with niacenimide the other days
@@Lkasdds yes, you can do that. And after that adjust the frequency based on your skin needs and responds :) Just experiment and see what combination works best for you.
Hey Melissa! I'm new to skincare and I'm really learning a lot from your videos. I just wanna ask if this is a night routine? or can I also do this during the day? I'm trying to make a day and night routine with the products you used. Thanks a lot!
This can be a morning and/or evening skincare routine. In the morning, always follow with sunscreen in the evening there is no sunscreen needed. How often you can exfoliate your skin depends on your skin concerns and tolerance. Some people can use it daily whereas others prefer to use it less often during the week. See what works best for you :) The rest of the routine can be used daily in the AM and PM, if you like to! :)
Hello! Do you have any recommendations for SUPER affordable eye creams that help with fine lines and wrinkles and puffiness? Or as an alternative, can you use the cerave moisturizer on your eyes as an eye cream? Or is the skin under your eyes too sensitive? I really trust your opinion so thank you!
I think it's best to use a retinol or vitamin c. Or maybe use a vitamin C in the morning and retinol in the evening. But make sure to introduce it properly into your routine to avoid skin irritation. Also, make sure not to use it on top of the eyes and too close to your lashes. You can go with the Ordinary, their products work great, but as I mentioned in the video the other feel more luxurious, but the outcome will be the same 😉 There is no need to spend so much money!
Hi first of all thank you for your videos. those give me a lot of knowledge about the products. I have pigmented skin and oily. So I started using Paul's choice discoloration repair serum and the BHA Exfoliant. please give me advice about the routine of using these products.
Have a look at the videos below: How to use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliant: th-cam.com/video/leaORDqh75A/w-d-xo.html - (it's an updated version). How to use Paula’s Choice Clinical Discoloration Serum: th-cam.com/video/Gud_U4_8QWM/w-d-xo.html But generally since you only have these 2 products you can also use them like this: PM: Cleanser BHA Discoloration Serum Exfoliant Frequency: How often you use your AHA or BHA product will depend on your personal tolerance. Begin with 2-3 times per week in your evening skincare routine. Then, increase as skin builds tolerance to every other day or daily as needed (and if tolerated).
BHA, which stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid, is the same as SA. You can use it for treating active acne, and it's also possible to combine it with niacinamide if you prefer.
Hi! I’m so glad I found your page! Im just starting out on my skincare journey and was wondering if there was a better solution for red bumps and forming white heads? Also can I use Paul’s choice with the (1) CeraVe SA Cleanser Salicylic Acid Face Wash with Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide & Ceramides and /or (2) Differin Adapalene Prescription Strength Retinoid Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment?
I recommend only using one BHA. Either your Salicylic Acid Cleanser or Paula's Choice 2% BHA. When using Paula's Choice BHA, use a gentle non-salicylic acid cleanser. So, AM - Gentle Cleanser, BHA , SPF or AM - SA Cleanser and SPF and PM - Gentle Cleanser and Adapalene.
The Ordinary NMF + HA or Beta Glucan, Geek & Gorgeous Hydration Station, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Gel, etc., could be great options. However, over time, I figured out it's best to use the exfoliant on its own or use it like a mask - that's at least what works the best for me. If your skin barrier is damaged, I wouldn't use an exfoliant during the time you're trying to rebuild your skin barrier.
Heeey! Thanks for the amazing video :) I’m just wondering if I should wait for the exfoliant to soak in before applying the Niacinamide? If so, how long should i wait?
You came out with this video at the perfect time! I had a question about layering these 2 with a Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatment. I use AcneFree Terminator 10 after both Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid and The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, and then I moisturize with CeraVe. My question is that I use this in the morning and I’d like to combine steps so it’s faster. Could I combine the Niacinamide mixed with my CeraVe moisturizer at the end? For example: 1) CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser 2) Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid 3) AcneFree Terminator 10 BPO on spots 4) Mix a few drops of Niacinamide into my CeraVe moisturizer I’d mostly be worried about the Niacinamide not absorbing into my skin over the BPO. But please let me know! Thanks so much!
I don't see any problems with it! So yes, you can add a few drops of Niacinamide to your moisturizer and use the routine you've mentioned above😊 If you aren't sure about a combination, you can always try it as a patch-test on your upper forearm or corner of your forehead and see if an irritation happens, if nothing happens you can try the combination😊
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thanks for replying! I was concerned because the BPO is slightly thicker than the Niacinamide so it wouldn’t absorb as well on that spot. (Going by thin-to-thick). This is what I was doing before: 1) CeraVe cleanser 2) P.C. 2% BHA 3) T.O. Niacinamide 4) A.F. Terminator 10 BPO on spots 5) CeraVe moisturizer
@@e11eohe11e Yeah, your order of application is correct! So you can use them as you just listed or mix Niacinamide with your moisturiser or use it like this: 1) CeraVe cleanser 2) P.C. 2% BHA 3) T.O. Niacinamide 4) CeraVe moisturizer 5) A.F. Terminator 10 BPO on spots Since Step 2,3 and now 4 are products that you leave on the skin + blend into the skin whereas Step 5(now) is being used as a spot treatment and if you use the BP cream as your last step you can leave it on those spots without needing to blend anything after on top of it. Does this make sense?😅
Hi Melissa, please help me! Can I use Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser + Ordinary Niacinamide + Paula's Choice altogether? Or if to use one product in AM, for example Niacinamide in the mornings, excluding the Paula's choice and Paula's choice during night time excluding the Niacinamide or can I use both of them together in the same routine while using the Foaming Facial Cleanser?
What toner do you recommend when using the ordinary niacinamide or the nights when using the ordinary glycolic toner? I have texture skin. I know it's not necessary to use a toner but i would like to.

Hello I'm thinking of starting of my skin care routine so I'm very new to this. My skin is combination but recently I have dry patches and it looks flaky but in summer I sweat a lot if I use a heavy moisturizer. These are the products I bought 1. La Roche posay purifying cleansing foam 2. Paul's choice 2% BHA exfoliant 3. La Roche posay toleriane double repair face moisturizer If I want to use a different moisturizer, what would be good for me?
It can be because of the weather change, and the skin needs a bit to balance it; it usually just takes a couple of weeks. So I think the moisturizer is not the issue.
Hi Melissa could you please tell me if my pm routine is correct i have combo skin (i want to correct these problems: blackhead enlarged pores & hyperpigmentation + facial redness: 1 Cerave foaming facial cleanser 2 Anua heartleaf 77 soothing toner 3 Cosrx snail mucin 4 Axis y dark spot correcting glow serum 5 Cosrx advanced snail all in one cream. I wanna buy & try this paula's choice exfoliant if i use it can i stick to this routine & instead of the snail mucin i use this exfoliant (or just cleanser exfoliant moisturizer)
Yes, that's fine. However, I think it's best to have your blackheads extracted. What kind of hyperpigmentation do you have? The glow serum may help, but you may also want to consider Azelaic Acid instead. Additionally, have you already considered examining your diet? You may be consuming something that could potentially cause your blackheads and/or redness.

@@magicshop968 Do you have physical acne scars? Are they deeper into your skin, creating an uneven texture? If that's the case, it's best to see a dermatologist. If they are only on the surface, you may have luck with Niacinamide and/or Azelaic Acid. Regarding Azelaic Acid, brands like The Ordinary, Facetheory, Paula's Choice, Revolution, etc., offer products containing it, or you can find a gel/cream at your pharmacy. As for diet, it's challenging because not everyone has the same intolerances. However, I've changed my diet to mainly non-processed foods, incorporating a lot of fish, vegetables, and dairy products, all of which are organic to avoid preservatives and antibiotics. Hi Melissa, I'm back again 🙈 Please can I add Axis Y Niacinamide dark spot serum? And can I combine both the essence and the serum ? Or do you think that's alot, because I don't have a moisturizer since I have oily skin.. 😢
@@seppoupierrette8858 Yes, that's fine. Use it after applying the essence. You do not need a moisturizer; just use something like the Snail Essence to hydrate your skin. :)
Hi I use good molecules niacinamide brightening toner... Can I apply this before using 2% bha liquid exfoliant..??? How long should I wait after applying the niacinamide toner to use the exfloitaror???
Hi❤️ Can i use cerave foaming cleanser, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide from the ordinary together? I want to use bha paulas choice 2 times a week and what of those 3 should i replace in those days because i heard that bha and niacinamide together dont work well but i dont know if its true 😂❤️❤️
Yes, you can use those products together. Yes, this is true; it's because of the pH. However, from my understanding, this only matters when they are mixed, and if you have a stable formulation like the one from Paula's Choice or The Ordinary, it does not matter. Worst case it may cause flushing (redness) which goes away after usually 30-60minutes and it's not harmful. From what I have read, it can also happen when the amount of Niacinamide is too high for your skin and does not necessarily have something to do with the Acid. Generally speaking, when using Paula's Choice products, you do not need to be concerned about this. It mainly happens with cheaply formulated products. You have to understand that most marketing/media is based on fear of confusing people and selling you their products. There is no reason for a privately owned company like Paula's Choice to lie when it comes to such a topic. This way, they only would sell fewer products when people get skin irritation, which would lead to angry customers. So that doesn't make any sense to me. I use it in combination and never had any issues, but I know many people who can use it with BHA but not with an AHA. So it's individual. Also I am not a professional I am just trying a lot of stuff as you can see on my channel and most trends are not true.
@ wera gg and Melissa..I use the Ordinary hyaluronic acid and niacinamide and Paula's choice liquid exfoliate and use Vanicream face wash..all I do is just wait 15-30 min between the hyaluronic, niacinamide and exfoliate to put on behind one another and I have no issues at all plus for my moisturizers I use GNC brand vitamin E,AD cream..but it's no issues using them. Trust me, I have oily and sensitive skin and it does wonders for mines!
@@shaydominicana305 Thanks for sharing! :) Little tip, you can but don't have to wait that long in between each product, just give it a minute in between so that it can soak into the skin between each product and that's it :)

I'm oily acne prone skin. Thank you.
Hey :) You're fine to use the Ordinary Niacinamide after the Paula's Choice Toner! :) Your skincare routine looks great! However, I do not recommend using the Ordinary moisturizer in your PM routine since it can make your skin even oilier, I do not think that this is the "best" moisturizer for oily skin. You may want to have a look at a light moisturizer from Paula's Choice or use nothing at all :)
Hi,I just found your channel and I was wondering if you could help me,would I be able to use the 2% bha liquid exfoliant paulas choice with the ordinary hyalironic acid 2% b5 in the same routine? Would be a great help if you could reply 😩 Thank you 🙏 love yours videos very helpful so far 💜
It depends on your needs and overall skin tolerance. I always advise to start using it 2-3 times a week for 1-2 weeks and then increase the frequency if needed and tolerated.
Is it safe to use Aloe Vera with BHA? Or is the Aloe Vera not necessary at all? Do you apply BHA and then Aloe Vera? And my La Roche Posay Moisturizer contains niacinamide in it, is it safe to use with BHA? This is for night time skincare routine.
Hey :) Yes, you can use your BHA with Aloe Vera. First, apply your BHA, wait 30sec. to a minute and then apply your Aloe Vera on top :) Yes, BHA can Niacinamide can be used in the same routine. Yes, you can use your BHA and LRP moisturiser in the same routine :) - First, apply your BHA and wait 30sec. to a minute and then apply your moisturiser on top :)
Afterwards, you can use a light moisturizing gel or consider reducing the frequency of use. Two options that work well are The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan or G&G Hydration Station. Both are lightweight and can provide effective hydration.
You're awesome 😊❤️ Can you please tell me how long "Paula's choice 2% bha liquid exfoliant" lasts (30ml) ??? I use 5 drops 3 times a week. Love from India 🇮🇳
Paula's Choice BHA is a leave-on exfoliant. So, if you apply it in the evening you leave it on the skin for the entire night and 'rinse off' the next morning.
No. That's fine! Just don't forget to wear SPF during daytime. See here: How to use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliant: th-cam.com/video/leaORDqh75A/w-d-xo.html
Hiii this is my facial routine rn is it okay? 1. Cerave foaming cleanser 2. Paula's choice toner 3. Paula's choice exfoliang 4. Cerave moisturizer plus spf Is this okay? To mix?
Hi Melissa i just want to ask a question since it will be my first time trying to do a skin routine. Is it ok to start by washing my face with argan soap + paulas choice expoliate bha + niacinamide the ordinary + vit c + aloe vera moisturizer or vaseline moisturizer? I have a dry skin.
Well, you have to see if the soap is non-drying, as I suspect that it could be. In that case, a cleanser suitable for your dry skin may be more appropriate. Also, Paula's Choice BHA is generally for oily skin, so it's a bit of an odd combination. Are you sure you have dry skin? And do not use Vaseline. ;) Since it's your first time doing this, I recommend watching this video: th-cam.com/video/8gLrr2wbi_8/w-d-xo.html
Yes, however, I prefer either one of Paula's Choice Moisturizers with SPF (Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30+ or Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50) or COSRX Aloe Soothing SPF Cream.
Hi! I’m getting ready to start using the Ordinary Niacinamide serum and was wondering when using it do I need the same amount of drops that you need when using Paula’s Choice Niacinamide serum? Thank you!!!
For The Ordinary Niacinamide 2-3 drops are usually enough :) How to use The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc Serum: th-cam.com/video/PhVRhMplqTY/w-d-xo.html
Hi!! For my morning routine, I like using Paula’s choice pore refining niacinamide toner. Can I after using this toner, use the skin ceutical’s vitamin C serum? And then finish with applying sunscreen? Thank you being you ❤️
Based on my experience, yes. However, from what I have read, it may irritate if you have sensitive skin. It may lead to stinging or burning. Technically it is a great combination to use Vitamin C after an acid. Here is more if you are interested: lesliebaumannmd.com/vitamin-c/
No, it should not burn. This indicates that you may not tolerate the product well, or you might be using it too frequently. If you are using it daily, try reducing the frequency and see how your skin reacts. If this was your first time using the product and you experienced burning, I recommend discontinuing its use.
Hello Melissa love ur videos u explain so well thks a lot 💗 so i have a question plz can i use Paula's choice bha 2% with Axis-y dark spot serum + buffet ordinary + retinol the ordinary 1% squalene n last moisturiser??
You cannot use these products together since buffet is sensitive to pH (BHA), and using retinol 1% and BHA is also not the best option since it can lead to sensitivity/dryness over time. So you need to create 2-3 evening routines. Pm1: Clean Buffet Moisturiser Pm2: Clean Retinol 1% (Optional Moisturizer only if you feel the need) Pm3 Clean BHA Axis-Y Dark Spot Serum

@@shailakhan8517 Try to only use a moisturiser when needed, meaning if your skin becomes dry, only use it on the areas where you have dry skin. What else do you use? And what are your skin concerns?
This depends on your skin and what feels the best! Some people can use it daily AM and PM, whereas others prefer to use it only once per day and use a gentle cleanser as well :) - You talk about the Cerave SA Cleanser right? Or the Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant?
However, what I want to teach you is that it does not necessarily matter what you are using but how you can use them. People tend to buy too much stuff :P I have used The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors
Niacinamide is more effective when it is applied after an acid. ( at low pH, I think it's best around 3.8 can't remember the exact pH) It increases its efficacy. Some people may experience temporarily flushing, and then they believe that this is not working, but the flush is not harmful and goes away usually after 1hour. But this does not mean that the product is not working; it's just the opposite. I think this is mainly coming from the Niacinamide Powder since you should not dissolve it in an acid, because some components are missing or it may not be accurate enough to make it a stable formulation. It may be best to ask a chemist if you want to understand the exact process.
If you experience sensitivities around the nose, you could just leave that part out. But yes, the product is ideal for normal to oily combination skin types. For dry to normal skin types, it's recommended to use their 5% BHA lotion (th-cam.com/video/-d_w3jjXcMo/w-d-xo.html).

Hi! I always look fo your videos before I plan on buying/ using any product because im a complete newbie to all this skin care and still figuring out how it all works 😅. Thank you so much. I have a question so please please do reply, can you tell me the difference between the ordinary Aha BHA peeling solution and Paula's choice BHA 2% exfoliant. ❤️
Hey :) The peeling solution includes a stronger % of exfoliating acids 30% of AHA (most of it is Glycolic Acid, followed by Lactic Acid, etc.) and 2% of BHA. And the Paula's Choice leave-on exfoliant includes "only" 2% of BHA without any AHA acids. So depending on your skin needs, you either can use both - but not in the same routine or only use one of them. The peeling solution only once per week but you can use the Paula's Choice 2% BHA more often - to daily during the week. Hope this helps :)
Hey I love your videos!😍 Should I rinse off my exfoliator and then moisturize? Or should i put moisturizer on my skin inmediately after exfoliating without removing the exfoliator?
Those are leave on exfoliants, so this means that you can leave them on the skin. So you can apply your moisturizer on top of it. Like this: How To Use Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: th-cam.com/video/WP6bZ1p2Dks/w-d-xo.html
for blackheads and pimples, glycolic acid (the ordinary tonic) or salicylic acid (the ordinary or paula choice mask) is better. I would like to know the differences between the two products and which salicylic acid is better between paula choice and inkey list. I would need a product to integrate into a skincare with vacum. what do you suggest me?!
Salicylic Acid = BHA = great for oily blemish-prone skin -> unclogs pores, exfoliate away dead skin cells and makes you less oily. Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid or Mandelic Acid = AHA =great for dry skin. -> exfoliate away dead skin cells and increases hydration in the skin. Out of the AHAs and BHAs I have tried. I really like Mandelic Acid from the Ordinary or Paula's Choice 10% AHA. As for Salicylic Acid, I love Facetheory's BHA Exfoliant Serum. Salicylic and/or Retinol can help to reduce the look of blackheads. Or if you are looking into a Salicylic Acid Cleanser, I can recommend La Roche Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Cleanser or Neutrogena. Have a look at the other reply and join the group :)
Theoretically, it should help since it is an exfoliant, but it's probably not the best option. I would go with Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid and/or Vitamin C and Azelaic Acid. The following combination can work well: Can I Use Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Serum With Azelaic Acid: th-cam.com/video/XirUQnql2h8/w-d-xo.html
Aoa...please tell me...what should be My AM and PM skin care routine according to these products....the ordinary naicinamide, hyluronic acid, lactic acid 5 percent,Alpha Arbutin, paula's choice bha 2 percent
Ok so I'm really sorry to keep asking stuff 🙈 but I'm really new to skincare. and my skin is oily/combination (can get real oily but also can dry and is sensitive). But it also is very very congested with bumps, textured skin and blackheads and pimples (they aren't too noticeable because they are stuck). And nothing ever works xD. So at the moment l like the la roche posay gentle foaming cleanser morning and night. Then i was wondering if paula's choice toner and then the 2% BHA liquid exfoliant and then la roche posay effacler duo or K one for blackheads. And then sunscreen. And at night i use the same cleanser and then maybe the toner (haven't used it yet) and then not sure about serum, but then i use the olay total effects night cream. Also if you use the 2% BHA liquid exfoliant in the morning, do you still need to use an exfoliator wash at night 3 times a week and also masks? And maybe not worry about vitamin c? So sorry for long comment and it's totally okay if you can't respond! 💖🙌
Hello again 🙂 It is very individual, and there is no correct answer to your questions. When using leave-on exfoliants and cleansers with acids, you have to test it and see what works best for you. For me a Salicylic Acid cleanser with a Benzoyl peroxide cream works best for pimples, bumps etc. But it may be different for you. Usually Salicylic Acid takes a long time to work (See here: imgur.com/a/ZxHziDp) Here are great articles to read: www.paulaschoice.de/en/all-about-exfoliants www.paulaschoice.de/en/the-difference-between-aha-and-bha-exfoliants Benzoyl Peroxide: imgur.com/a/IcQDZ1Y I want to say that you need to test the products and the combinations and figure out the proper routine. Sometimes 1 product will do the job; sometimes it's best to not "seal" the products so do not use a moisturizer. One thing that won't change is the sunscreen during the day. But apart from that test, just make sure not to overdo it, and if you feel that your skin is irritated wait a few days and adjust it. Also, give it time and experiment! :) I also can recommend the following video: (It will also help you if you do not use The Ordinary products) The Ordinary What Each Product Does: th-cam.com/video/8pPkLWz5S0U/w-d-xo.html

Technically yes, but if you have sensitive skin and are using an ascorbic acid serum at a higher concentration (10% or more), it may become irritating, especially when applied repeatedly. So in that case, it would be best to keep them separate.

Thank you for this video! I was using niacinamide wrong 😭 I applied at least 5-6 drops
((there are some newer studies showing that low pH Niacinamide formulations are more effective, so we will see how this plays out over the coming years)
However, when you follow some influencers advice of using half a dropper and soaking your cotton pad wet with the acid, chances are very high that they interact.
(you know the 1ste article on Google always tells the truth, especially when it has vouchers and lots of affiliate links 😉)
Anyway, you have to try it and see what's working best for you, and based on that, adjusted it. Try the combinations and if you are unsure, try a small area first and see what happens :) Or try it on your arms, legs etc 🙂

Hey again! :)
Thank you!💕
Well, both are great ingredients but it depends on your skin concerns...
What are your skin concerns? :)
You can stick to one of them, or use both!
Your videos are so helpful thank you so much!! ❤️❤️

Hey :)
Glad it was helpful!🥰
Hey there, are you using it right after the toner? I am planning to start today and I am totally noob :(
@@mysh9337 Yes, use PC 2% BHA after your toner. Please watch the video! :)
I’m kinda new to skin care and this helped a lot 🤩
Small question- it might seem kinda dumb but honest question: what’s the difference between a toner and an exfoliate product and what “helps more”?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet okay- thank you so much!

I have really oily acne-prone skin. Could you tell me if my routine needs any changes?
1. CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser
2. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer
How do I keep my skin from getting too oily throughout the day and do you know of a better moisturizer for my skin type?
I want to add in the Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliant into my routine.
Well, depending on what you do during the day you will get oily, and you cannot solve the problem until you get older. But the best you can do is use oil-regulating products (for example, a mattifying moisturizer with Dimethicone) or a sunscreen that is mineral based.
And you are already using a Salicylic Acid cleanser, so there is no need for Paula's Choice BHA; it is the same :) So use just one of them.
Edit: BHA = Salicylic Acid

However, depending on how oily your skin is, using a moisturiser may not be needed!

Hi love you videos very helpful!❤️ I have 2 questions please:
?
Hello :)
Salicylic Acid works very slowly, and it seems to not work very well for Blackheads, even if it claims it.
Thank you very much❤️
What did you put on your eyelids? You didn't or I missed it. I've been using Paula's Choice anti aging eye cream and it feels nice.
Thank you so much for your educational content 💕☺️
I'm kinda new to skincare and I would like to include all the steps slowly, as of now I just started with below steps
1. Aha based cleanser(Glycolic Acid)
2. Paula's choice BHA exfoliant
3. Neutrogena hydro boost
May I know if I can use PC's BHA after AHA cleanser?? Or do you want me to switch to different cleanser?
Hey! :)
What AHA Cleanser do you use?
Very informative video! You explain a skincare routine very well and it is easy to understand what step comes when and why. I recently purchased PC BHA and am starting to incorporate it more often in my routine. However I want to purchase TO Niacinamide serum and am wondering if it is a good option to use them basically evey other day. So one night the PC + serum and in the next evening TC + serum. My skin is not that sensitive but I just dont want to mix them in one routine/day. Would you recommend this or I wont see good results this way? Also is it okay to use herb oil serums and not the standard ones after TC and PC?
Hey :)
Thank you so much!
There are different ways to use them :)
You can use TO Niacinamide in the AM and PC BHA in the PM. Or use them on alternate days, or use them in the same routine (PM).
There is not really a right or wrong. It's about what works best for your skin. You may want to start slowly and try it for some time before you are adjusting and may wish to use it more often :)
If you are using a product less often, like instead of using it daily, you use it every other day, the only thing that may change is that it may take longer to see improvements but other than that, there is not much different.

& I've read that paula's choice can't be used in the morning . It can increase my skin's sensitivity to the sun. When should i use it then?
Hey :)
How often you can exfoliate your skin depends on your skin concerns and tolerance. Some people can exfoliate daily while others prefer to do it less often. See what works best for you! :)
Chemical Exfoliating products are preferred to be used in the evening, however, you can also use it in the morning but always follow with a sunscreen to protect the skin :)
Thank you soo much
My routine is
1.Sa renewing cleanser
2.Paula choice bha
3.ordinary niacenimide
4. Moisturizer
And how would you recommend setting up and applying these
Hmm, the products are already in the correct order.
See what works best for you :)
The rest of the routine can be used daily in the AM and PM, if you like to! :)
Use vaseline
Hi first of all thank you for your videos. those give me a lot of knowledge about the products. I have pigmented skin and oily. So I started using Paul's choice discoloration repair serum and the BHA Exfoliant. please give me advice about the routine of using these products.
Have a look at the videos below:
How to use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliant: th-cam.com/video/leaORDqh75A/w-d-xo.html - (it's an updated version).
How to use Paula’s Choice Clinical Discoloration Serum: th-cam.com/video/Gud_U4_8QWM/w-d-xo.html
But generally since you only have these 2 products you can also use them like this:
PM:
Cleanser
BHA
Discoloration Serum
Exfoliant Frequency: How often you use your AHA or BHA product will depend on your personal tolerance.
Begin with 2-3 times per week in your evening skincare routine. Then, increase as skin builds tolerance to every other day or daily as needed (and if tolerated).
Can we use this combination for active acne
Or should we buy separately a salicylic acid serum ?
Thank you! this was helpful as i was confused what moisturizer to use with the BHA. Do you have any barrier restore cream moisturizer recommendations?
The Ordinary NMF + HA or Beta Glucan, Geek & Gorgeous Hydration Station, La Roche Posay Cicaplast Gel, etc., could be great options. However, over time, I figured out it's best to use the exfoliant on its own or use it like a mask - that's at least what works the best for me. If your skin barrier is damaged, I wouldn't use an exfoliant during the time you're trying to rebuild your skin barrier.
Thanks for the response! @@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
Heeey! Thanks for the amazing video :)
I’m just wondering if I should wait for the exfoliant to soak in before applying the Niacinamide? If so, how long should i wait?

You came out with this video at the perfect time! I had a question about layering these 2 with a Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatment. I use AcneFree Terminator 10 after both Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid and The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, and then I moisturize with CeraVe.
My question is that I use this in the morning and I’d like to combine steps so it’s faster. Could I combine the Niacinamide mixed with my CeraVe moisturizer at the end? For example:
1) CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
2) Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid
3) AcneFree Terminator 10 BPO on spots
4) Mix a few drops of Niacinamide into my CeraVe moisturizer
I’d mostly be worried about the Niacinamide not absorbing into my skin over the BPO. But please let me know! Thanks so much!
I don't see any problems with it! So yes, you can add a few drops of Niacinamide to your moisturizer and use the routine you've mentioned above😊
If you aren't sure about a combination, you can always try it as a patch-test on your upper forearm or corner of your forehead and see if an irritation happens, if nothing happens you can try the combination😊
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thanks for replying! I was concerned because the BPO is slightly thicker than the Niacinamide so it wouldn’t absorb as well on that spot. (Going by thin-to-thick). This is what I was doing before:
1) CeraVe cleanser
2) P.C. 2% BHA
3) T.O. Niacinamide
4) A.F. Terminator 10 BPO on spots
5) CeraVe moisturizer
@@e11eohe11e Yeah, your order of application is correct! So you can use them as you just listed or mix Niacinamide with your moisturiser or use it like this:
1) CeraVe cleanser
2) P.C. 2% BHA
3) T.O. Niacinamide
4) CeraVe moisturizer
5) A.F. Terminator 10 BPO on spots
Since Step 2,3 and now 4 are products that you leave on the skin + blend into the skin whereas Step 5(now) is being used as a spot treatment and if you use the BP cream as your last step you can leave it on those spots without needing to blend anything after on top of it. Does this make sense?😅

Yes, that's fine. However, I think it's best to have your blackheads extracted. What kind of hyperpigmentation do you have? Regarding Azelaic Acid, brands like The Ordinary, Facetheory, Paula's Choice, Revolution, etc., offer products containing it, or you can find a gel/cream at your pharmacy. As for diet, it's challenging because not everyone has the same intolerances.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thanks soo much now i understand 🤍
@ wera gg and Melissa..I use the Ordinary hyaluronic acid and niacinamide and Paula's choice liquid exfoliate and use Vanicream face wash..all I do is just wait 15-30 min between the hyaluronic, niacinamide and exfoliate to put on behind one another and I have no issues at all plus for my moisturizers I use GNC brand vitamin E,AD cream..but it's no issues using them. Trust me, I have oily and sensitive skin and it does wonders for mines!

1 Squalene
2. Paola's Choice Pore reducing toner (with niacinamide)
3. Niacinamide the ordinary
4. Alpha arbutin
5. Sunscreen
PM Routine
1. Sqaulene
2. Poala's Choice pore reducing toner
3. Poala's choice BHA or Lactic acid 5% (planning to do it only 3x maximum a week)
4. Niacinamide (the ordinary)?
5. Marine hyaluronics
6. Natural Moisturizing.. +HA
Btw this is not my current routine, it is just a step by step that I'm planning to try does this routine ok or too much? or should I change something. I'm oily acne prone skin. Thank you.
Hey :)
You're fine to use the Ordinary Niacinamide after the Paula's Choice Toner! :)
Your skincare routine looks great! However, I do not recommend using the Ordinary moisturizer in your PM routine since it can make your skin even oilier, I do not think that this is the "best" moisturizer for oily skin. You may want to have a look at a light moisturizer from Paula's Choice or use nothing at all :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Ok that will be noted. Thank you so much for always answering my questions ❤️

Would be a great help if you could reply 😩
Thank you 🙏 love yours videos very helpful so far 💜
Hey :)
Yes, that's fine. Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar not an exfoliating acid, therefore it shouldn't be confused with AHA or BHA acids :)
paula's choice exfoliator will used daily in care rotinue ? or once in week?
It depends on your needs and overall skin tolerance. I always advise to start using it 2-3 times a week for 1-2 weeks and then increase the frequency if needed and tolerated.
Is it safe to use Aloe Vera with BHA? Or is the Aloe Vera not necessary at all?
Do you apply BHA and then Aloe Vera?
And my La Roche Posay Moisturizer contains niacinamide in it, is it safe to use with BHA? This is for night time skincare routine.
Hey :)
Yes, you can use your BHA with Aloe Vera. First, apply your BHA, wait 30sec. to a minute and then apply your Aloe Vera on top :)

Afterwards, you can use a light moisturizing gel or consider reducing the frequency of use. Two options that work well are The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan or G&G Hydration Station. Both are lightweight and can provide effective hydration.

Paula's Choice BHA is a leave-on exfoliant. So, if you apply it in the evening you leave it on the skin for the entire night and 'rinse off' the next morning.
is there any downside to only using this product and nothing else?
No. That's fine! Just don't forget to wear SPF during daytime.

And do not use Vaseline. ;)
Since it's your first time doing this, I recommend watching this video:

Yes, however, I prefer either one of Paula's Choice Moisturizers with SPF (Ultra-Light Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 30+ or Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50) or COSRX Aloe Soothing SPF Cream.

Based on my experience, yes. However, from what I have read, it may irritate if you have sensitive skin. It may lead to stinging or burning. Technically it is a great combination to use Vitamin C after an acid.

Does the skin burn slights for first 5-10min?

Hi, I have read that using a base (Niacinamide) after an acid (Paula's choice) is not recommended since of the huge difference in pH. Your thoughts?
Is this toner good for combination skin? A little sensitive around nose?
If you experience sensitivities around the nose, you could just leave that part out. But yes, the product is ideal for normal to oily combination skin types. For dry to normal skin types, it's recommended to use their 5% BHA lotion (th-cam.com/video/-d_w3jjXcMo/w-d-xo.html).

@@Queen-h-1 I haven't tried their products, but they are highly overpriced. You can get the same benefits with much cheaper products from brands like The Ordinary, G&G, Good Molecules, and others.
Hey :)
The peeling solution includes a stronger % of exfoliating acids 30% of AHA (most of it is Glycolic Acid, followed by Lactic Acid, etc.) and 2% of BHA.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Hey I love your videos!😍
Should I rinse off my exfoliator and then moisturize? Or should i put moisturizer on my skin inmediately after exfoliating without removing the exfoliator?
Those are leave on exfoliants, so this means that you can leave them on the skin. So you can apply your moisturizer on top of it.

for blackheads and pimples, glycolic acid (the ordinary tonic) or salicylic acid (the ordinary or paula choice mask) is better. I would like to know the differences between the two products and which salicylic acid is better between paula choice and inkey list. I would need a product to integrate into a skincare with vacum. what do you suggest me?!
Salicylic Acid = BHA = great for oily blemish-prone skin
-> unclogs pores, exfoliate away dead skin cells and makes you less oily.

Usually Salicylic Acid takes a long time to work (See here: imgur.com/a/ZxHziDp)
Here are great articles to read:

Benzoyl Peroxide: imgur.com/a/IcQDZ1Y
I want to say that you need to test the products and the combinations and figure out the proper routine. :)

Hi, can i use vitamin c serum after this toner
Technically yes, but if you have sensitive skin and are using an ascorbic acid serum at a higher concentration (10% or more), it may become irritating, especially when applied repeatedly. So in that case, it would be best to keep them separate.
