Best Teppanyaki video I've seen. No unneeded seasonings or sauces. No hitting the spatulas together every 2 seconds like some kind of knife thrower. They didn't cut the meat as it was cooking and let all the juices run out. And after cooking it they RESTED THE GODDAMN STEAK. Teppanyaki usually ends up being more about the gimmicks and the experience of it than the actual food, but they did everything perfectly here. Very impressive.
"resting the steak" is a gimmick. Ask a professional. If you want your steak overcooked like an idiot, then fine... but if you eat your steak the way it's supposed to be eaten, then "resting" it will cause it to be overdone in the center.
@@I_leave_mean_comments Resting the steak is absolutely not a gimmick. When meat cooks, its juices gravitate to the center of the cut. If you allow the meat to stand away from heat before serving, you give it time to redistribute and reabsorb its juice. As a result, the meat loses less juice when you cut it, also making the meat more tender and juicy throughout. As for overcooking, how hard is it to remove the steak when it is 1 stage more pink than desired? Then, after resting, you have your perfect done-ness without a plate full of juice surrounding a dry steak.
The sheer precision of the execution of that meal is awesome.! That chef knows exactly what he is doing. No flair just precise moves and techniques. Love it!!

The level of quality here is just insane. Thanks for sharing.
This guy is awesome, no flash just solid skills. Started with Wagyu, he almost lost me with the butter until I realized he was going to butter baste the steak. he also used his spatula like a total pro.
I love how quiet Japanese restaurants are. You can relax and eat without hearing thumping club music at full volume like practically every restaurant in the US.
The hell are you eating at? This place looks a bit more upscale but I'd love to know what Ruth's Chris, St. Elmos, Papas Bros or Peter Lugars you went too with club music
Sorry buddy I retract my statement it my not be loud music but the MUTHERFUCKERS are louder then the USA look up Aden Films on Okinawa beef in Japanese Teppanyaki

If you don't have a 1000 degree broiler, this or a cast iron skillet is the next best method to use. The butter added makes all the difference in grilling a steak.

It's refreshing to see one of these guys actually cook a whole steak properly, rather than chopping it up and cooking it that way, a way that requires no skill whatsoever.
Hahahah Look up the stats. More Asian restaurants are shut down or fined by inspection officers than any other type. In Canada 80% of all restaurant violations were issued to Asian restaurants.
The amount of detail and care put into their food, from the initial steps of preparing all the way to serving up in near enough every restaurant in Japan, and meanwhile us in the west are so far behind even in what we consider to be high end establishments.
@@TheUnforgiven69 Do you know how many countries there are in Asia tho? Japan is like a small measly part of it, China takes the cake for the reputation.

I leave mean comments Or take your your steak off before it's finished and then let it continue to cook as it sits, dipshit.
Gordon Ramsey is a professional enough chef, and he tells us to rest our steaks!!

Great video as always, thanks.
That chef sets a wonderful benchmark for those food types!!

I like the way the chef plates the beef without touching it, so many American chefs touch the food while plating it.
