i dont know how to mod and i dont really have the patience to learn how to mod but i love all of Silent's mods and he's doing a FANTASTIC thing for the community so im gonna watch this entire tutorial and give him the views anyway
I recently made that modification of the GT4.VOL but this time replacing the old sounds of the GT3 cars. I used several programs the GT3VOL EXTRACTOR and the GT4FS respectively, but I extracted the sounds of the GT4 prologue where the old sounds of GT3 came from and replacing the sounds of the cars from it to GT4
By the way, you can click on the folder path on the Windows explorer and type cmd, when pressing " Enter " it will run the CMD in the desired folder, just so you know
not with the specdb editor. but theoretically IF a tool ever comes out that does that, then yeah. Some hackery can be done to swap already-existing ps2 gt car models and stuff like that, but as far as doing something like ripping car models from another game and then converting it to gt4 that's basically a pipe dream at this point
Can't go trough the first disclaimer, I saw in the readme file that the problem could be related to .vol edit, but even with the original .vol, it wont work .. Interesting thing is that I can load a savestate from the unmodded game and it runs fine, but, I can't come back to main menu, got the red loading icon .. Also, I'm using EU version on the game and generated IML file several times with "CDRom generator" and "Iml2Iso" .. don't know what's wrong here
Thank you very much for this video, does anyone know how to change the amount of laps? I've tried changing the Laps column in the RACE table, but that didn't work
it is missing FMVs and license demos, other than that it's exactly the same as retail,. but what does make a difference is the filesize of the ISO, opb disc is only 2.5gb which heavily reduces the storage taken up on your drive when trying to mod it, and it avoids having to go through the process of creating a dual layer dvd iso
yes you can, in the specdb editor just go to the tirecompound table and raise the "Mu" values gt4_ec = economy gt4_st = comfort et4 sp = road gt4_ch = sports hard gt4_cm = sports medium gt4_cs = sports soft gt4_rsh = racing super hard gt4_rh = racing hard gt4_rm = racing medium gt4_rs = racing soft gt4_rq = racing super soft
@@yomo68 The Mu (multiplier) is the only value responsible for grip, by default racing super hard tires are around 150 I believe, so just change it to a number higher than 150 if you want more grip. If you want it to behave like super soft tires for example, just change the Mu to 190.

Great tip mate!
Can you do HD GUI textures for Public Open Beta as well? Your GT4 work was great.
Wow, can you actually model and inject entire car models with this?
not with the specdb editor. but theoretically IF a tool ever comes out that does that, then yeah. All I wish for is to be able to play the single player locked maps like Chamonix or Grand canyon in 2p arcade. Is that even possible?
What's the name of music in 0:00? It's quite catchy to hear
I'm not sure but i think it's either 5 prologue, 5, or 6

Is there a downside to playing on the online beta disc? is it missing content that the retail versions have?

Thank you for this...would this make it possible to increase the tire grip values of the garage cars?
yes you can, in the specdb editor just go to the tirecompound table and raise the "Mu" values
gt4_ec = economy
gt4_st = comfort
et4 sp = road
gt4_ch = sports hard
gt4_cm = sports medium
gt4_cs = sports soft

is it possible to change the car sounds ?
Is it possible to customize events/championship with such tools? (Change track order, lap, timer, grid selection, prize car, entry requirements, etc)
Yes
how can I change the soundtracks?
Possible to edit the online ISO garage to empty and revert starting credits to 10k?
Yes, and it's something all GT4 hacks being worked at that I know of are doing.
