And it was a trend that unfortunately continued. GT sport does have good camera rotation (if you changed it in the options). GT7 has the option as well but it’s still too stiff to the car.
I've prefer GT4 sound detail. If you listen it, it has a bit whining sound like supercharger. Since the original Ford GT 2005 has supercharged V8 (idk if the concept also has supercharger, since GT LM Spec II based on the concept GT)
I'm shocked no one is actually talking about how horrible the sound is for the GT7 car. It's almost like its bugged/sound swapped. It sounds like a flat plane v6 or something. Not even remotely like a supercharged v8.
Its insane how GT4 just looks like GT7... okay, there are details msising and reflections but besides that, it looks like GT7 on lowest graphic settings... Really insane when keeping in mind it is 3 Generations older.
You could attach reshade on the emulator and add the levels + sharpen filters, it would improve the way the texture looks on the cars, including its decals. Set reshade to opengl.
Man I love the interior view of GT7, I really appreciate how the head bobs around unlike in previous games. If only it didn't have the DRM, then I would get it on my PS4. Mainly because I don't want to go online and update my firmware anymore
Man, people can say what they want about GT7's graphics, this comparison really shows how far games in general have come and I love to see it! Especially with the sound, what a stark difference, lol. Nonetheless, GT4 really does hold a special place in my heart~
Man, looking at my phone from a distance, they both look similar. I don't know if that's a knock on GT7 or GT4 is that great. For some reason GT7 has too much bloom off sun reflections.
I play GT4 on an original console, and it looks just as good on an emulator. Depends on the TV you are playing. 3d models cant look better, the textures can only have anisotropic filtering set to x16 to make the quality of the textures a bit sharper and thats it. Either people have very bad memory or never played GT4 on the OG console in the first place.
That isn’t exactly true. Even with a retrotink, PS2 will never look as good as Emulation upscaling. Coming from someone who’s had a PS2 since 2002 and emulated since 2020. PS2 is very pixelated and hard to see detail compared to a progressive scan upscale

Man there's something about the engine noise of the the GT in GT4 that makes it so cool. Interesting they tried a diff engine noise on GT7, I thought they were going to use the same engine noise as the GT test car. But sound pretty cool too.
I have to say GT4 looks far better than GT7, yes GT7 has lens flare and better reflections but i have come to race not look at the secery. Yes i know this is running on PCSX2 and yes i know he's running at 4K (i myself run the games at 8K internal resolution which is then downscaled to 1080p) which is much better then the PS2's default 480p
Gran turismo 4 is just a legendary game, even in ps2 resolution is the best racing game ever created, 700+ cars, 100+ tracks, a lot of upgrades for your car, licenses, but gran turismo 7 is really good compared to gran turismo sport
I think that it's very telling that the first thing I noticed was the sound design. GT7 is noticiably superior in that regard. But as far as graphics go, GT4 is absolutely impressive given its age.
Love how cars use to move on curves on GT1 up to GT4. After GT5 the rear of the cars are almost a freezed imagem while the whole environment moves around you
Na real, o gran turismo 4 ainda continua insuperável, era mais bonito graficamente, era a tela mais limpa sem tantas informações, adorava o piloto automático, manoqueria o GT 7 com essa função de novo
Have to admit gt4 is still very much a playable game considering it’s the console generations behind. I know it’s not actually the ps2 version but we’re still talking about a game that was produced nearly two decades ago.

Wait until people find out that a Spec 2 mod has come out for GT4 that I've downloaded and played. Beats my GT7 experience by miles. It truly feels like GT2 again but with much better graphics, tons of updates, pretty much all the car engine/exhaust notes have been updated and so on and so forth!
Man, I remember back in the day, 1080i on a PS2, with this graphics at rock solid 60fps??!(talking about ps2 original, obviously, not emu), what amazed me were the rally stages, they were absolutely gorgeous: chamonix, citta di aria and rocky mountains. I put countless hours on this one and 1&2 on the PS1 also (I fucking loved the soundtrack of the 1st gran turismo and his techno oriented presentation, starting from 2 and afterwards, the music and the menus were made "too snobby" for my taste.

Imagine B-Spec returning with GT Sophy, that will surely justify using Sophy as your B-Spec driver, training through machine learning as you give it orders.
GTA4 & Tourist Trophy were a whole generation ahead of their time...maybe two...and only held back by the power of the consoles. I'd love to see them go back to those as a base and build from there. GT7 looks awesome though and is the one game that makes me want a PS5.
my first gran turismo game. And also my favorite and only one which I completed 100% Baack then I was shocked how good it looked, the amount of cars and tracks they could deliver to ps2
What is up with the inside camera angle on GT7? The gear changing mechanics of the driver are way off. The car is changing gears and then the manual gear change happens from the driver dummy. At first I thought the sound was off by a second or so from the video feed, but as you look at it closely you can see that is not the case at all. Hope they fix that. From a visual perspective, I feel is horrid.
Obviously the graphics are better on the PS5 but honestly the biggest difference I noticed was the V8 sounds like a V8 in GT7. I miss GT4, I think I'm gonna start playing it again soon. Racing slicks for all cars in all races!

I've prefer GT4 sound detail. If you listen it, it has a bit whining sound like supercharger. Since the original Ford GT 2005 has supercharged V8 (idk if the concept also has supercharger, since GT LM Spec II based on the concept GT)
I'd guess not, a supercharger wouldn't be extremely useful on a race car like that.
I'd guess not, a supercharger wouldn't be extremely useful on a race car like that.
Oh my word. I loved playing GT4. I remember being so exited when I finally got that Ford GT in the vid finally.
I'm shocked no one is actually talking about how horrible the sound is for the GT7 car. It's almost like its bugged/sound swapped. It sounds like a flat plane v6 or something. Not even remotely like a supercharged v8.
Yep. I couldn't wait to hear the angry hornet sound of the Porsche RSR and was quickly disappointed. Boooo!
Yeah it's literally the same sound as the 2018 GTE. Which is wrong, obviously. Hope they patch that.
Yeah, sounds like the Ecoboost V6 instead of the supercharged V8.
@@Roddy_Zeh I hope updates can change it to a V8 sound
that's because it has a v6 as a LM spec II race car....
It was, and also, It is my days.
(First played with Orginal PS2 Slim)
(Aaaaand, PS4 Slim)
Its insane how GT4 just looks like GT7... okay, there are details msising and reflections but besides that, it looks like GT7 on lowest graphic settings...
Really insane when keeping in mind it is 3 Generations older.
You could attach reshade on the emulator and add the levels + sharpen filters, it would improve the way the texture looks on the cars, including its decals.
Set reshade to opengl.
Or get the vulkan build of pcxs2 and enable vulkan on reshade menu
@@altaafsheik5725 Thats a great tip, didn't know that :) Thanks Altaaf
@@bobolins I was using this on rpcs3 with reshade shaders games look beautiful
Man I love the interior view of GT7, I really appreciate how the head bobs around unlike in previous games. If only it didn't have the DRM, then I would get it on my PS4. Mainly because I don't want to go online and update my firmware anymore
Have you a cfw installed?
its worth it but sounds like you doing illegal stuff so your loss.
Man, people can say what they want about GT7's graphics, this comparison really shows how far games in general have come and I love to see it! Especially with the sound, what a stark difference, lol.
Nonetheless, GT4 really does hold a special place in my heart~
GT4 was impressive for its day, GT7 simply is not.
@@NeedMoarRage speak for yourself lol
@@NeedMoarRage I agree. There sure ain't eighteen years worth of difference!
They have not came far though. No way is that eighteen years of difference.....
Gt7 has the best graphics ever for a Racing Game
Remember my childhood!! Had GT4 it was a best of series.
Man, looking at my phone from a distance, they both look similar. I don't know if that's a knock on GT7 or GT4 is that great.
For some reason GT7 has too much bloom off sun reflections.
U r an camera dude
isn't the bloom just like that irl
Bro really used the word bloom which is used in games like COD to describe “the real driving simulator” 💀
@Michael Hamilton it's a pretty common word in photography; it's not exclusive to CoD...
Probably used it wrong oh well
@@michaelhamilton4133 I don't understand.
GT4 still looks good for it’s age! Loved playing it on my PS2 back in the day 😎
I play GT4 on an original console, and it looks just as good on an emulator.
@@RowdyGT yes but the difference isnt so noticable if ur using a CRT screen with a small resolution. Atleast i dont notice it.
But i don't suffer much for that kind of thing, im a guy that loves to play it how it was originally intended.

Handling.exe stopped working
ppl watching this on the phones at 600x400 " LULULUL LOOKS THE SAME KEKEREKOOL FORZA BETTA KEKW "
GT4 looks great for its age, but what i'm most impressed by, is how accurate the track model is. Obviously the kerbs and run offs have changed over the years, but disregarding that it's extremely accurate. GT4 was way ahead of its time
Awesom driving! Gran Turismo 4 still looks fantastic!!
Since gt7 added all these customizations, we should be able to cruise or race and have the opportunity to look around our car while driving 3rd person and enjoy our car build. I don't know why they never add this
its to simulate blind spots, you cant see the sides of your car when your sitting in it.
@@ConnorH2111 all I'm saying is, I myself and I know many others would like to see around our cars, like need for speed for instance, it would make the game that much better. I know this game isn't need for speed but hey, why add these cosmetic customizations and not be able to see them?
@@kamikaze6305 for other people to see them ofcourse, and you can look at your car plenty in the menus and scapes.
* Laughing in Forza horizon *
I am a GTfan too btw gt7 is awesome this is just for the laughs and to contribute with your comment just WHY do I have to turn on my Xbox when I just want to cruise with a nice build... I've been dreaming of doing this since GT5 and that's why I bought an Xbox to begin with ... Im grinding the shit out on gt to modify and make my cars feel like they're mine but damn would love to cruise
@@ConnorH2111 you also can't see the rear of the car if you're sitting in it, yet its a thing.
Greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩
I think PS2 Version is very Masterpiece. Especially if you play it through the PCSX2 Emulator, the Graphics can also be adjusted according to our wishes
That is Why I Love Gran Turismo 4 because this Game is One of my Favorite Racing Game, also one of the Best Racing Game in the World. I still Playing with Game, even though I'm Play with PCSX2 for Now 2022 👏👏👏
GT4 was the only game I had bought when I had the Playstation 2 I spent hours playing xd
GT7 doesn't look as much better as you would expect. I remember playing GT4 when it came out. It had a pseudo 1080i mode that looked amazing. It looked so good that it held up to 360 and PS3 games. It's amazing how far they pushed the PS2 with GT4.
Ah yes, the Gran Turismo's main antagonist.
Both games are epic, love that some of the sounds like the start sound are the same.
Man there's something about the engine noise of the the GT in GT4 that makes it so cool. Interesting they tried a diff engine noise on GT7, I thought they were going to use the same engine noise as the GT test car. But sound pretty cool too.
The original LM Spec II was using a V6, as is apparent in GT7. They just did a very bad V6 engine noise in GT4.
That's one of the best looking gt4 vids I've seen . Thanx for settings
I laugh how everything in GT4 sounded like a Vacuum
it looks like the gt4 lap is like 7 seconds faster lol
it’s the tire simulation in 4, they were pretty extreme lol
5:59 Based BMW
cool comparison
Thank you!
But as far as graphics go, GT4 is absolutely impressive given its age.
you can really feel the diff of the physics engine at the first turn alone
Love how cars use to move on curves on GT1 up to GT4. After GT5 the rear of the cars are almost a freezed imagem while the whole environment moves around you
gt4 actually, in this video he has a gt3 camera mod for gt4 which makes it less stiff
Na real, o gran turismo 4 ainda continua insuperável, era mais bonito graficamente, era a tela mais limpa sem tantas informações, adorava o piloto automático, manoqueria o GT 7 com essa função de novo
Mas tem o piloto automático...
Insane how gt4 was so ahead of its time
Have to admit gt4 is still very much a playable game considering it’s the console generations behind. I know it’s not actually the ps2 version but we’re still talking about a game that was produced nearly two decades ago.
How cool does the GT4 look after so many years! For its time it was a stunning game!
for some reason my game still looks blurry with the description setting. its almost like everything on screen shows like double really close to itself. mine almost looks like the video i just need to solve that
The chase cam as it should have been in GT4... 20 years later.
Also The Theres The Formula Tournament In The Extreme Events. Completing GT4 100% Grants You The Black Formula GT
Thx for making this video it show u how its GT clearly developed and good comparison
Q: Did you use a steering wheel in both games?
Wait until people find out that a Spec 2 mod has come out for GT4 that I've downloaded and played. Beats my GT7 experience by miles. It truly feels like GT2 again but with much better graphics, tons of updates, pretty much all the car engine/exhaust notes have been updated and so on and so forth!
I like gt4 cuz of ogness and gt7 cuz of the sick graphics. Also its interesting how that “START” chime hasent changed at all.
Tuve el gt 4 que gran juego lpm. Hasta aprendi conducir en la vida real y te da esa experiencia
My favorite race car on my favorite race track
Nice one Rowdy 👌
In GT4 the car be like the 2002 concept. In GT7 the car be like the production car
Looks great visually, but I noticed that the AI still hasn't mastered late breaking. Humans have an inherent instinct the machines will never comprehend.
you can see the difference clearly, but gt4 was years ahead of its time, I can't believe it came out in 2004
I really miss the B-Spec mode. It would be so cool to train a driver and he is a bit of an RPG character with experience points and specialties
For some reason, using your OpenGL config is kinda laggy for me, I played with Dirext9 and run fine
I was wondering why GT4 looked so much better than I remembered and wow. It's amazing what upscaling the resolution could do.
in pscx2 theres even 5k resolution! if you have a good pc and good graphic cards settings you can enjoy it a lot!
GT7 obviously looks miles better since it's on PS4/5, but I didn't realize how bad the audio was in those old GT games.
Obviously the graphics are better on the PS5 but honestly the biggest difference I noticed was the V8 sounds like a V8 in GT7. I miss GT4, I think I'm gonna start playing it again soon. Racing slicks for all cars in all races!
yes, in gt4 the sound is like a 6 cylinders
Wait is that GT has a V6? I don't think so
A few things they should change for the car is the headlights to be like the Concept Car lights and the engine it sounds like the 2018 GT
Je note l'amélioration des sons moteur ! On passe d'un son de mobylette à celui d'une 125cv bridée :D
Suite à ce constat est-ce bien nécessaire de parler de la physique des véhicules ?
Did i hear it wrong or Does GT LM Spec II Race Car (White one) and the Test Car Variant (Black One) has different Engine Sound?
Ola , amigo nao consegui configurar o FOV do Gran Turismo 4 no PCX2 pelo video que voce fez , sou Brasileiro e nao entendo bem , teria como voce escrever em detalhes como fica a configuração ?
Veja a descrição.
People keep talking about the sound, I don't mind... I think it's good enough. Because I never know how a car would sound like when I keep following it from behind at a perfect range...
Thanks for doing this. Today if you offered the GT4 experience for $99 (including hardware) versus GT7 for $599 (including hardware) a bunch of consumers would take the $99 option. GT7 does not feel like ~18 years worth of improvements/innovation.
Plus GT7 is filled with microtransactions
I remember the cars in the lineup so well... Its from the driving mission 12
The only car that's here from mission 12 is the Viper...
GT4 is still superior because more than half the game is not locked behind their servers being online.
GT4's sound effects haven't aged that well XD
The brake lights in GT4 are distracting. It's so obvious it isn't the same brake light but illuminated, rather a completely different image.
На каком уровне ИИ соперники в версии GT7, если BMW так развернуло в Corkscrew? С другой стороны время круга гонки в GT7 гораздо хуже. Но интересно было посмотреть, вспомнить.
One thing it's right, they know how to do replays
Maybe Spec II do her best at this point but The Ford GT LM SPEC TEST CAR Black Edition was such a Monster
GT4 was way ahead of its time
