I usually don't comment at all but I feel like this might be important. People with trauma are very likely to develop anxiety and panic attacks. BUT anxiety does NOT need trauma to develop! They might interconnect but are separate. Hope that helps.

I just have to say I watched your original video on your story with anxiety. I am 53 years old. I have suffered with anxiety since I was 8 years old. Your video was like a light bulb just turned on in my brain. It completely makes sense. For the first time in my life the way to recover from anxiety finally makes sense. I get it!!! I have viewed your videos daily for the last two weeks and I am feeling myself go through these stages of healing. I feel like I have been given a new chance at life! Looking back at my life and how anxiety has held me back and kept me a prisoner of my own mind is mind blowing!! I have tried many many different things seeking many many different answers. Trying to control anxiety created more anxiety. Anxiety is a symptom just like a headache, back ache, etc. We don't fear headaches, backaches etc. Why fear anxiety?!! Absolutely life changing! I appreciate you and will continue to watch and educate myself with your videos. Thank you so much for your help!!!! I am forever grateful 🙏

I can understand her lack of memory.
But I started having anxiety the first day the cardiologist prescribed metopropolol. I had my first panic attack on that day. After 3 weeks, I stopped taking metopropolol, and the cardiologist prescribed lisinopril. Then losartin. Then amlodipine. They all gave me panic attacks! I spent 18 months on meds that gave me panic attacks.
I also tried hypnotherapy, acupuncture, yoga, crystals, and ketamine.
But since my brain chemistry was altered for 18 months, don't I need some type of medication to change it back?

I think you have to remember the time Claire was working in too. Anxiety was SO misunderstood and looked down upon back then that her information was way more limited. But everything else she says is so bang on. Even today we’re still learning about anxiety symptoms and how they can present so it’s not surprising she had that viewpoint as only a very limited amount of symptoms was viewed as anxiety and the pool of people actually talking about their symptoms was also a lot less and less available due to there being no social media like there is now. We’ve come a long way but it shows how ahead of her time she was that out of all of her teachings, that’s the only error decades later 😊

How about sleeping problems like waking up gasping for air is that part of anxiety ?

Yes. I have hypnic jerks and some nights i will have them all night long and i can’t get any sleep. They sometimes get accompanied by anxiety, tremors and heart palpatations. But they’re all under the anxiety umbrella.

Hey Shaan is it possible to recover from anxiety without having any DPDR? All my symtpoms have lessened and I almost feel normal but cant really relate when people discuss dpdr
