I been to yellow stone 4 times i live and Atlanta, I drive F150 4 x 4, so that trail is too much for my truck, but the thing is Clark Fork caught my eye the first trip when I came out of Cook city and I went back the next day and drove in from the highway that goes to cook city as far as I could go I could see the massive gorge it’s absolutely beautiful so the last time I went, I drove up to court fork but the road had washed out. It’s still probably the most beautiful place. I saw it Wyoming. I hope they fix the trail so people can go back up there. I know jeepers will love it ! Everybody have fun be careful

Okay. Just walked the trail today, 5/5/2024. Got 2/3 up the switchbacks. Definitely not Jeep ready. ATV ready if you are very careful.

Nice video! From your video (and a few others I've seen of this trail), this trail looks tougher than Black Bear Pass in Colorado. A lot of these old Jeep trails were great back in the day. Down around Lander, WY, you have Fairfield Pass and the Shoshone lake road. Both were originally jeep trails back in the day (mostly because they were narrow). However, I've seen old B&W pictures of a Buick on the top of both and spoke to old-timers who remember driving their cars on them. Try to take a Jeep up those trails today, will tear the hell out of your rig. However, unlike the Jeep trails in places like Ouray, CO (which are maintained by the county), most of these old Forest Service Jeep trails are not maintained and erosion takes away the soil around the huge rocks. Many have just been closed by the Forest Service or BLM. This trail looks like it will join other old Jeep trails that are only accessible by ATVs or Side-by-Sides. For the record, I wouldn't take my 4x4 pickup over this trail. As for my YJ Jeep? Maybe...if I gave it a bigger lift and taller tires. Thanks for the video!

I've only ever taken ATV's up and down the Morrison jeep trail. I dont think i could take anything else up those switchbacks. Too sketchy for me. I remember hauling a half an Elk off of it a few years back on a little four wheeler in the middle of the night. One of the scariest rides of my life for sure...

One of my all time favorite trips, and you're right, the switchbacks aren't even the best part!

The USFS has said funds are available but a contract has not been let. Perhaps in 2024.

But if the switchbacks ever reopen, you won't be able to go up them if your camping setup includes trailers, right?

Correct! I do not recommend taking a trailer up the switchbacks. Upper section no problem.
